Twenty Nine Little Bugs
“Chu Ran, I had a very long dream.”
This was the first sentence the cub said after waking up from a long sleep.
“What kind of dream was that?” Chu Ran asked in a low voice.
The cub’s voice was unclear, his eyes were confused and scattered. He murmured in a dream-like way: “It was a very long dream. I dreamed of this room and you. The room was dark and there was no light. You stood there, standing there motionless. A beam of light shone on you. You slowly turned your face, and I saw your eyes… They were red…”
His voice became more and more unclear, and his pale lips moved, spitting out a few syllables with unclear meanings.
A slender and powerful palm gently covered his half-open eyes, and a low and magnetic voice slowly said in Lan Ze’s ear: “I don’t have a pair of red eyes.”
The moving lips once again uttered vague mumbling: “You stood there, your eyes were red…all red, like a huge volcano spewed out red magma, and submerged you.”
A volcano spewed out red magma and submerged you.
No, it’s not a volcano, nor is it magma. It’s a completely beast-like king zerg. His carotid artery was cut and blood was gushing out of his artery.
Chu Ran closed his eyes, and his hand gently stroked the cub’s face.
During the two-month long sleep, the cub’s body has undergone some obvious changes. His limbs have become more slender. The once round amber eyes have become slightly elongated and turned into slightly rounded almond eyes. The cheeks that used to have obvious baby fat have also become much thinner, showing a very clear and beautiful jawline.
Chu Ran sat quietly beside Lan Ze, his gray eyes swept over the naked body of the cub on the incubator bed. The cub had grown a little, but still looked like a little zerg.
Sometimes he really hoped he would never grow up.
He, who had been guarding Lan Ze with Chu Ran for two months, held a syringe. Both he and Chu Ran were wearing pure white sterile suits, and their faces were visibly haggard.
“The inhibitor has failed.”
“How long will it take until the first metamorphosis?”
“23 hours.”
“He can now see what happened in the past. The admiral should be familiar with this talent.”
“Retrospection”, Chu Ran said these two words heavily.
Hull put down the syringe and rubbed his bloodshot eyes: “Yes, this is one of the talents of the Light God Butterfly. I have always wanted to destroy his gene sequence, but his transformation came too suddenly. Everything is too late.”
Chu Ran was silent.
After a while, he stood up from Lan Ze and said coldly: “You can leave.”
Hull bowed to him tiredly, slightly hunched his always straight back, and walked out of the sterile room with a depressed look.
The time on the timer passed by minute by minute, 23 hours later.
Lan Ze opened his eyes.
He didn’t feel anything strange at all, as if the previous pain was just a nightmare, and everything was fine when he woke up the next day after sleeping.
He had lost track of time in his deep sleep, and his memory was still on that night of burning fire. He sat up from the bed, and found that he was not even wearing a pair of shorts, and Chu Ran, who was dressed neatly and meticulously, was standing in front of his bed, looking down at him.
Lan Ze’s scalp exploded, and his hands couldn’t grab the quilt for a long time. The mercury-like liquid on the constant temperature bed rose and fell with his movements, revealing Lan Ze’s messy heart.
“Where are the clothes?”
“Where are my clothes?”
Chu Ran took a silver constant temperature blanket and covered him. Lan Ze grabbed the blanket and glared at Chu Ran, saying angrily: “What did you do to me!”
When he woke up, he was naked, and there was a big man with a serious face standing in front of the bed. Anyone would feel cold in his ass.
Chu Ran looked at Lan Ze silently. His eyes were so complicated that Lan Ze’s hair stood on end. He took a deep breath, angrily picked up the blanket on his legs and wanted to put it on, but for some reason, his back suddenly hurt, and he felt as if his skin was torn open, as if something broke through his flesh and rushed out.
The dark room without light was instantly illuminated by a brilliant blue light, and a pair of blue wings with brilliant colors spread out behind Lan Ze.
These were a pair of wings belonging to the Light God Butterfly. The brilliant blue was like a dream, and there were golden lines on the wings that flashed brilliant golden light, reflecting each other.
Chu Ran was slightly choked by this rare beauty.
As for Lan Ze, he was a person, no, now he was a zerg that could grow wings. This zerg was extremely panicked, and he kept saying “wow wow” in his heart. The whole zerg jumped three feet high, and then he flew out in a daze, like a cannon/bomb flashing with blue light, leaving a brilliant tail.
Master Lan, who once stood at the top of the food chain, obviously could not accept that he could grow wings, which violated his biological common sense.
Although he had been a zerg for so long, he still had no consciousness of being born as a zerg.
Seeing the little zerg flapping his wings and flying around the room, Chu Ran’s eyes faded a little. He grabbed Lan Ze’s waist helplessly and pressed the little zergs flying around in his arms.
The cub’s wings were shaking in panic. He touched the trembling wings, patted Lan Ze’s head, and said with a rare smile: “I thought you would be happy to grow a pair of wings according to your personality.”
Lan Ze poked his head out of his arms and said in horror: “How could I grow two wings? This is not common sense!”
Being able to see in the dark was acceptable, but the sudden growth of two wings on his body almost made Lan Ze cry.
He pointed at the two gorgeous wings behind him with a sad face and said, “I won’t walk around with these two wings for the rest of my life, can they disappear?”
Chu Ran was no longer surprised by Lan Ze, a little zerg who lacked common sense: “It just grew out of your body, it will take a few days to adapt before you can put them back into your body.”
“It’s good that they can be put back into the body,” Lan Ze finally breathed a sigh of relief.
He has always been a devil, and after being frightened by the sudden growth of wings for a while, he immediately began to study the wings carefully.
These are a pair of butterfly wings, very similar to the very beautiful Helena Morpho Butterfly on Earth, but these blue wings are translucent, with many golden veins on them, shining with beautiful golden light in the bright blue light.
With such a pair of wings, it is just like tying two 100,000-volt light bulbs to your back, which is blinding.
Lan Ze touched it curiously and found that the wings were very soft, much like his mother’s silk clothes, but these wings had a faint temperature, like warm silk.
It is well known that butterflies were caterpillars before they turned into butterflies. Lan Ze thought with a dark face: Is he really a zerg?
The question of whether he is a human or a zerg was quickly forgotten by Lan Ze. He began to fly around the house with the newly grown wings.
Before he had wings, he was a zerg that made zergs worry. After he had wings, he made zergs worry even more. If he was not careful, he would fly to some corner. Fortunately, his wings would flash a brilliant blue light wherever he went, otherwise it would be really hard to find him.
Seeing the lively appearance of the little zerg, Chu Ran’s worries gradually dissipated a little, and he began to cook nutritious meals for Lan Ze after his transformation.
Lan Ze, who had grown wings, flapped his wings and flew behind him. He picked up a piece of cut cheese from the counter and put it in his mouth to chew it. His pair of small wings, which were more than one meter long, flapped back and forth. The wings were so gorgeous and elegant, but he waved them like a fluttering moth.
Chu Ran felt his temples begin to ache again.
In the next few days, Chu Ran began to chase this fluttering moth around the house.
Otherwise, if he wasn’t careful, this annoying zerg would fly away with its wings “whoosh”, and then the flower screen would be smashed, the chairs would be overturned, the wall hangings would be scattered, and the knocked-over bag of chips would be scattered all over the floor, etc.
Or when turning, the cub couldn’t control its wings and hit the wall hard, and it would inhale and shake its wings with tears in its eyes, and then continue to flutter, never tired.
So he had to be alert all the time and keep an eye on Lan Ze, and always pay attention to the cub’s newly grown tender wings. Those wings were so soft that anything could hurt him.
On the day when Lan Ze was finally able to retract and release his wings freely, an uninvited guest came.
