Chapter 26 Winning a Raffle Chance
For the past few days, Lu Chenxi had been diligently receiving materials from players for crafting axes. After finishing them, she sent them back one by one. The rewards players gave varied in amount, but Lu Chenxi didn’t mind. She accepted whatever they gave.
However, due to the sheer volume, little by little, Lu Chenxi and Chenyue had accumulated a large amount of supplies. Most of them were stored in Chenyue’s space. After all, her space was much larger, ten times bigger than Lu Chenxi’s.
Just as Lu Chenxi sent a crafted axe to a player, a familiar mechanical voice suddenly echoed in her mind:
[Ding, detected that player Lu Chenxi has gained 10 points of reputation in the game world. Rewarding one free Grand Wheel Raffle chance. Do you want to draw now?]
The emotionless mechanical voice spoke words that ignited a fire in Lu Chenxi’s heart: “Another raffle chance? Draw, draw, draw! Draw now!”
She remembered that the last time she leveled up to Level 1, she had won a Grand Wheel Raffle chance for the first time and directly won a Level 3 Protective Gem, which Chenyue was carrying with her now.
After confirming the draw, the Grand Wheel appeared again on the system panel. As Lu Chenxi prayed, the wheel’s pointer slowly stopped.
[Congratulations to player Lu Chenxi for successfully winning a Supermarket Free Shopping Voucher. Please use it within 30 minutes. The voucher will expire after 30 minutes. Do you want to use it now?]
Before she could figure out what a Supermarket Free Shopping Voucher was and what it did, Lu Chenxi heard that it would expire in 30 minutes. Without thinking twice, she raised her hand and clicked “Use Now.” This was the legendary “speed over brains,” wasn’t it?
In an instant, Lu Chenxi felt a flash of white light before her eyes, and she found herself in a vast supermarket with no visible boundaries. The supermarket was filled with all sorts of goods, from food and drinks to daily necessities, everything imaginable.
Before Lu Chenxi could figure out the rules, she looked around and noticed that she wasn’t alone in the supermarket.
She noticed several unfamiliar figures moving through the aisles, quickly putting items from the shelves into their system spaces before immediately moving to the next area.
Lu Chenxi thought their movements were so fast that they were turning into shadows. She guessed that these must be other players who had also won raffle chances through different means.
Seeing the players’ movements getting faster and faster, some even carrying large bags, Lu Chenxi suddenly realized and quickly started putting items into her space.
This supermarket was similar to the supermarkets on Blue Star, but it was many times larger than the biggest supermarket she had ever been to.
Just in the area Lu Chenxi had discovered, there were snack and beverage sections, cooked food and marinated meat sections, fresh fruit and vegetable sections, bread and cake sections, daily necessities sections, children’s toy sections, clothing and shoe sections, home appliance sections, meat and seafood sections, rice, flour, oil, and grain sections, and so on.
This was only within the limited area Lu Chenxi could reach in 30 minutes. If she had more time, she would definitely be able to explore other sections.
Who doesn’t dream of having unlimited shopping freedom in a supermarket? This feeling of not having to worry about prices was truly amazing.
Because this was the first time Lu Chenxi had encountered such a good thing, she didn’t have any experience. She threw everything she saw into her space, only realizing that her space was full later.
Lu Chenxi felt regretful. Thankfully, she had deliberately moved most of her supplies to Chenyue’s space beforehand. Otherwise, she wouldn’t know where to put all the things.
Immediately, Lu Chenxi selectively discarded some less important items that took up a lot of space and were easy to obtain, such as seafood. They had already eaten enough of it, and there was still a lot of space left.
She took more rice, flour, oil, and grains. Cooked food and marinated meat were also good. Vegetables and fruits could replenish vitamins. She took several sets of clothes and shoes to change into, and she had to prepare several sizes for Chenyue, who was still growing.
As she continued to fill her space, it was getting full. Seeing that she still had time, Lu Chenxi went to the daily necessities section and took several large storage bags for blankets. She started putting various items that didn’t take up much space into the bags.
She filled the bags with a lot of sweets like chocolate, lollipops, marshmallows, and gummies, all for Chenyue. She didn’t know if there would be such a good thing again, so she had to stock up for her little sister. She was good at spoiling her sister.
Before leaving the space, Lu Chenxi had not only filled her space but also three large storage bags for blankets. She carried them all in her hands, afraid that if she didn’t carry them, the system would consider them invalid, and she would be furious.
Fortunately, the system wasn’t that stingy and let her take everything.
Another flash of white light, and Lu Chenxi was back in their little hut.
She thought she would see Chenyue excitedly welcoming her. After all, these supplies were more than what they had collected before combined. Chenyue should be excited too.
But Lu Chenxi didn’t expect to see a crying Chenyue when she came out.
It was Lu Chenxi’s fault for being blinded by the excitement. She had forgotten that Chenyue didn’t know what had happened. She hadn’t had time to explain to her before being teleported to the supermarket.
Chenyue, who had been left behind, suddenly found her sister disappearing before her eyes. She searched everywhere but couldn’t find her. How could Chenyue not be scared?
Seeing this, Lu Chenxi felt heartbroken. She immediately put the bags she was tightly holding aside and hugged Chenyue, comforting her, “I’m sorry, Chenyue. I disappeared without saying anything. You must be worried sick. I just went to get a reward from the system. You’re the bravest. Don’t cry. I told you I would never leave you.”
Chenyue, who was crying with tears and snot running down her face, looked up at her sister and asked, “Really? What reward did you go to get? It took you so long.”
“It’s something good, of course. Ta-da, look,” she said, immediately opening the storage bag she had put aside, revealing all the snacks inside for Chenyue to see.
“Wow, there are lollipops, my favorite!” As soon as she saw all the different candies in the bag, Chenyue instantly stopped crying and rushed over.
She had finished the 5 lollipops Lu Chenxi had won from the sign-in a long time ago. She hadn’t had any lollipops for days and was craving them badly.
Chenyue, who had turned from sadness to joy, saw so many different candies and felt like she had won the lottery: “Are all these for me?”
“Of course, they’re all specially prepared for you. Put them in your space. You can eat one every other day. You know…” Lu Chenxi hadn’t finished speaking when Chenyue immediately replied:
“Eating too much is bad for your teeth. Kids can’t eat too much candy. I know, I’ll be good. I won’t eat too much.”
Chenyue, who had suddenly become rich, didn’t care if she could eat candy every day. Looking at the countless candies, she felt like she was dreaming. It was so unreal.
