Chapter 102: Subdue Everyone
The two men following Nan Jingzhi maintained their pace, constantly checking for gaps and patching them up on both sides.
The four of them formed a sharp blade, relentlessly pushing forward.
The leading man, who had been kicked down, struggled to his feet, glanced at the situation ahead, and fled.
Su Yin snatched a wooden stick from a man’s hand and hurled it at the man’s calf.
The leading man crashed to the ground. Nan Jingzhi jumped up, stepped onto his back, and pressed a sharp knife against his neck.
Terrified, the man froze and immediately begged for mercy, “Please, spare me.”
Su Yin stepped forward, grabbed a rope from the side, bound the man, and dragged him to his feet.
“Order everyone to stop.”
With the large knife pressed against his neck, the leading man dared not disobey. He shouted to his remaining subordinates, “Everyone stop, stop!”
Some were distracted by his shout, and one was cut down by the other party without noticing.
Others continued fighting, completely ignoring his orders.
Su Yin clicked his tongue twice, “It seems your men don’t listen to you.”
The leading man was furious but helpless.
“Since you’re useless, there’s no need to keep you.”
Su Yin moved the knife closer, and the leading man’s expression changed drastically. He said hurriedly, “I know the situation in Anping County, I know many secrets.”
Anping County, their next destination.
“What secrets?”
The leading man seemed to see a glimmer of hope for survival and started bargaining. “As long as you don’t kill me, I’ll tell you.”
Su Yin snorted coldly, “You have no right to bargain.”
The knife in her hand pressed a little closer, and the blood on his neck flowed more freely.
“Hero, I’ll tell you the truth.”
Su Yin sheathed the knife and kicked him over as he drew a breath.
She turned to deal with the others. As for him, she would deal with him slowly later.
These people were in terrible physical condition, very thin. They had managed to hold out for so long relying on sheer numbers and their advantage in the terrain. However, this advantage was gradually fading as time went by.
Without advantages, failure was inevitable.
Some were injured and lay on the ground, unable to rise, while others had died outright.
Those who were still alive would tie up this group of people.
Su Yin noticed the knife wound on her uncle’s arm, blood flowing steadily.
Zhou Youcai and the Zhang family boss were also injured to varying degrees.
The only ones unscathed were Su Yin and Nan Jingzhi.
Su Yin stepped on the leading man, “Where do you keep all the golden sore medicine?”
“In that thatched house over there.”
Su Yin opened the door, and a stench hit her. It wasn’t just sweat, but a mixture of blood, and other unpleasant smells.
Frowning slightly, she endured her nausea and found a complete set of medicines in a cabinet.
These bandits were quite interested in this aspect.
Su Yin emerged with the medicine, “Uncle, treat the wound first.”
“Your cousin and Xiaobao…”
“Don’t worry, we’re going to find them now.”
Su Yin kicked the leading man in the chest again, “Where are the two people you just kidnapped?”
“Yes, yes. In the cave behind the last thatched house.”
The leading man curled up in pain, his heart filled with regret, cursing the five people who had gone out and their eighteen generations of ancestors.
Damn it, if it weren’t for these idiots who kidnapped the mother and son, he wouldn’t have to suffer this fate.
Su Yin and Nan Jingzhi walked towards the back, constantly observing their surroundings, not daring to take anything lightly.
Although these people had been subdued, there could still be traps waiting for them.
They had to be careful, lest they fall victim to a simple mistake.
Su Yin had time to carefully observe the place. It was a basin in a valley, surrounded by mountains, with the cave as the only exit.
It was a good hiding spot, she had to admit that.
Their draft likely came from the dripping water in the cave.
There were several very simple thatched houses in the valley, the best one made of adobe, located in the middle.
Following the dirt road towards the back, they found a cave under the cliff.
Su Yin and Nan Jingzhi held knives in their hands and slowly approached the cave step by step.
In the dark cave, as their footsteps drew closer, a rustling sound echoed within, accompanied by a woman’s cry.
Ten steps from the cave entrance, an unpleasant smell wafted out. It was a sour, pungent mix of urine and feces, indescribable in its disgust.
A gust of wind blew by, Nan Jingzhi’s expression froze, and he instinctively covered his mouth and nose with his folding fan.
Su Yin noticed his expression, “Well, why don’t you wait for me outside the cave?”
Nan Jingzhi shook his head, “Small question.”
“Are you sure?”
Nan Jingzhi nodded affirmatively.
The two walked side by side towards the cave. Once they entered, Su Yin opened the fire seal, illuminating the cave.
She walked to the side of the cave wall and lit the only oil lamp inside.
With the oil lamp lit, the cave was bathed in dim light, enough to see clearly.
Several skinny women, covered in bruises and half-clothed, huddled together, shrinking back behind the cave wall in fear.
They were already at the very edge, with nowhere to escape.
Their subconscious retreat showed their fear of the intruders, even though they never raised their heads.
Several people were locked up on the other side, one of whom was a middle-aged man with disheveled hair, looking savage.
Behind him were two people, one large and one small.
As for Yang Shuilian and Xiaobao, they were tied and thrown to the ground. Their hands and feet were bound, and their mouths were stuffed with rags.
No one else dared to look at anyone. Only Yang Shuilian and Xiaobao, who had just arrived, looked subconsciously.
At this glance, their eyes were filled with joy.
“Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu” Yang Shuilian struggled and whimpered.
Su Yin stepped forward and removed the dirty cloth from her mouth.
Yang Shuilian cried directly, “Yinyin, you’re here.”
Nan Jingzhi didn’t move, not wanting to touch anything dirty.
“You’re not hurt, are you?”
“You’re not hurt.”
While talking, Su Yin removed the dirty cloth from Xiaobao’s mouth and began to untie them.
Everyone else in the cave was stunned after hearing the conversation between the two.
They cautiously raised their heads, fearing that the woman’s voice they had just heard was simply a figment of their imagination.
Once several of them saw clearly that the newcomers were not the demons that had terrorized them, shock and surprise filled the cave.
The middle-aged man with disheveled hair was especially excited.
Su Yin looked at the group and said, “Don’t be afraid, those people have been subdued by us. They can’t hurt you anymore.”
Some among them couldn’t help but break down, crying to release the fear they had felt for so many days.
