Vampire Race and Werewolf Race Are Impossible
Vampire Race and Werewolf Race Are Impossible: Chapter 8

8. Subsequent Incessant Rain

Danny never mentioned when his study trip would end, but Huo Ye knew that he wouldn’t stay in A City for too long.

He wanted to confess his feelings.

Huo Ye had never figured out why Danny held his hand and said “want you” on his birthday; he didn’t dare to ask.

As time went on, he had to ask before it was too late.

Regardless of what Danny thought, Huo Ye wanted to express his feelings, at least not to have any regrets.

The hotel where Danny was staying wasn’t far from the library.

On another weekend, with the sunset burning brightly on the horizon, Danny walked ahead of Huo Ye with his hands behind his back. When they reached the hotel entrance, he turned around and said, “I’m going up.”

Huo Ye had been preparing himself mentally along the way, and he blurted out, “Wait!”

“…I, I have something to tell you.”

Huo Ye clutched his backpack tightly against his chest, feeling nervous to the point of sweating in his palms.

Danny raised an eyebrow, his eyes shining with the radiance of the sky. He smiled brightly and said, “It’s crowded downstairs, let’s go upstairs and talk.”

Huo Ye followed behind him, matching his steps.

The door clicked shut, and the prey was trapped.

Being alone in a room with Danny overwhelmed Huo Ye’s heart. He didn’t dare to sit down, so he swallowed his saliva and stood by the side of the bed.

His voice, when he spoke again, carried a hint of the unique hoarseness of a teenage boy going through puberty.

Danny sat on the small sofa by the floor-to-ceiling window, holding a glass of water, quietly listening to the passionate confession of the young man. He wasn’t surprised at all.

“…I like you!”

With the final words spoken, the dust settled. Huo Ye looked sincerely at Danny, awaiting his judgment.

Danny beckoned to him with his back against the light.

Huo Ye was momentarily stunned, hesitating as he approached. In the next second, he was embraced by Danny around his neck.

The cool hand at the back of his neck exerted a bit of force, causing Huo Ye to instinctively bend forward.

They were face to face, so close that Huo Ye could count Danny’s eyelashes.

Danny smiled again, a smile as warm and pure as an angel.

But Huo Ye’s attention was drawn to the pair of small fangs hidden beneath Danny’s pale pink lips.

He watched helplessly as those beautiful little fangs visibly grew at a rapid pace, eventually turning into a pair of sharp canine teeth.

Danny continued to smile, transforming from an angel into a demon.

“Do you know why I said I wanted you that day?”

The violin-like elegant voice slipped past Huo Ye’s ears, while his brain was still malfunctioning, failing to respond.

Danny didn’t mind and answered his own question, “Because I smelled the scent of blood.”

“Darling, do you know how delicious your blood smells?”

Huo Ye’s brain struggled to reboot. He didn’t know how delicious his blood smelled, he only knew how good-looking the person in front of him was. Huo Ye murmured, “No wonder you’re so attractive. You’re really not human.”

Danny “…”

Danny tilted his head and saw the realization in Huo Ye’s eyes. He furrowed his brows and asked, “Aren’t you afraid?”

Huo Ye snapped back to reality.

To be honest, it was hard for him to feel afraid in front of such a face.

He just found it adorable.

It seemed like he could accept the little succubus  .

Danny withdrew his smile, released his grip on Huo Ye’s neck, and leaned back a bit.

With a “crack” sound, a pair of wings, each spanning over three meters, appeared out of thin air and gently fluttered, partially folded behind Danny.

Danny stared coldly at Huo Ye.

Danny, “Are you afraid?”

Huo Ye, “You…”

Huo Ye, “Your clothes seem to be torn.”

Danny, “…”

Danny was dissatisfied with Huo Ye’s reaction and abruptly stood up, walking towards Huo Ye.

Under the invisible pressure, Huo Ye involuntarily took steps backward.

The exquisite bat wings unfolded with a “swish” sound, and Huo Ye fell onto Danny’s bed.

“I’m not an angel, nor a demon. I’m a vampire,” Danny saw through what Huo Ye was thinking with a single glance. He stood by the bed, looking down at Huo Ye and said, “I approached you simply because you smelled delicious, a good source of sustenance.”

The little succubus   smiled, and a hint of crimson stained his pale lips. Danny leaned in, and the bed thudded beneath Huo Ye.

“Aren’t you afraid that I’ll drain you dry?”

Huo Ye knew that those sharp fangs could easily pierce his own skin, but he still blushed uncontrollably, his thoughts starting to run wild.

Huo Ye, “Um… I actually have a lot of blood, so you might not be able to finish it all in one meal.”

Huo Ye spoke cautiously, “Perhaps we can establish a sustainable relationship?”

Qiu Rong, “…And then?”

Huo Ye looked innocent, “And then, I don’t remember.”

Qiu Rong, “…”

Ruan Sijia, “…”

Huo Ye, “It seems like I passed out and woke up in the library, but I didn’t remember anything. I thought I fell asleep while studying there.”

Huo Ye explained, “According to my brother, vampires have hypnotic abilities. I had no memory at that time. I woke up in the library and went straight home, only to realize a few days later that I had a fever and grew Werewolf ears. But my memories were still fragmented. I only remembered seeing fangs and wings, so my family thought I had been deceived by a vampire.”

“In reality, I wasn’t.” Huo Ye said cheerfully, “I did it willingly!”

Qiu Rong, …

It was clear that he had been deceived greatly.

Before his memories fully returned, Huo Ye’s family criticized vampires for their misdeeds and crimes. Subconsciously, Huo Ye felt that something was off, but he didn’t know what exactly.

After all, his worldview had just been shattered, and his memories were incomplete. He could only take his family’s words as the truth.

Huo Ye lowered his gaze, “The process of recovering my memories was intermittent. It wasn’t until a few days before the college entrance examination that I remembered everything.”

Remembering that handsome young man, remembering that he liked him.

An unrequited love that ended abruptly, memories tampered with, unable to find the other person, filled with anxiety…

Exams were imminent, and all of these had to be pushed back into the depths of his heart.

The final English exam.

Smoothly reading through one passage after another, confidently selecting the correct answers.

In that instant, Huo Ye understood.

Memories could change, feelings could be forgotten, but the steadily improving English scores over these months remained.

Huo Ye didn’t know why his grades had improved, and he even thought it was due to his awakened wereWerewolf bloodline opening up his meridians.

Now he remembered, it was all thanks to the language sense he developed from spending time with Danny.

“He didn’t harm me and even sent me back to the library.” Huo Ye looked at Qiu Rong. “Senior, I don’t think Danny is a bad person.”

“I want to find him and ask him why he erased my memories.”

“And also, about his response to my confession that day, he hasn’t given me an answer yet.”

“Whether it’s acceptance or rejection, I want him to tell me face-to-face, instead of unilaterally disappearing from my life.”

The only ones who could make contact with the bloodline were the leaders of the wereWerewolf clan, which was why Huo Ye insisted on finding Qiu Rong.

The determination in the young man’s eyes didn’t move Qiu Rong in the slightest.

He said lightly, “Erasing memories is a common method used by vampires.”

“Your brother should have told you that a vampire’s saliva has a healing effect, and the wounds caused by their bites will quickly disappear. How can you be sure that this vampire didn’t harm you?”

Huo Ye wanted to argue, but Qiu Rong didn’t give him a chance. “Your brother should have also told you that vampires can be divided into two types. One is the innate bloodline vampires, and the other is ordinary people who have been turned later.”

“Vampires place great importance on bloodlines. Innate bloodline vampires are rare and hold high status. The person you mentioned, Danny, coming from abroad with a wingspan of over three meters, is definitely a noble of the count level.”

Huo Ye was taken aback.

Qiu Rong guessed wrong. Huo Zhihang hadn’t told Huo Ye much, or rather, the entire Huo family hadn’t mentioned much about the supernatural world to Huo Ye.

They still hoped that their beloved youngest son would return to being an ordinary person.

“Why do you think a vampire count who came here for a vacation would suddenly spend time practicing spoken English with you?” Qiu Rong asked, and Huo Ye couldn’t come up with an answer at the moment.

“The other party has no intention of staying in the country. They lured you for a few weeks, probably just to pass the time and wait for you to foolishly come to them.” Qiu Rong said coldly, “That’s just the way vampires behave. They use their appearance to entice, wait for their target to take the bait, achieve their goal, and then mercilessly use hypnotism to make the person forget. Afterward, they move on to find the next interesting target.”

“You are just one among many reserves. If it weren’t for your wereWerewolf bloodline, you would never have remembered him for the rest of your life.”

The words were too direct, and Huo Ye seemed to be greatly shocked, standing still in place, not even realizing that his Werewolf ears had popped up.

He suddenly realized that if it weren’t for the awakening of his bloodline, he might have never remembered Danny, the angel who had suddenly appeared and fulfilled his 18th birthday wish.

His light gray furry ears pressed tightly against the back of his head, a state of high alertness.

It was normal for adolescent Werewolf cubs to have trouble controlling their ears and tails. Huo Ye felt a deep resistance to Qiu Rong’s words, and even a desire to attack.

Qiu Rong understood the situation and realized that Huo Ye might not be so familiar with the matters of the supernatural world, otherwise, he wouldn’t have had such a strong reaction.

However, since the words had already been spoken, he had no intention of taking them back.

Qiu Rong didn’t want to confront the young boy, so he left Ruan Sijia to look after him and went upstairs.

The rain outside the window had stopped at some point.

However, the ground had not dried completely, and the dark sky began to drizzle lightly again.

Huo Zhihang finally noticed that his younger brother was missing. He had just sent a message to Ruan Sijia and was rushing to the old villa.

Qiu Rong responded to the message from Ruan Sijia and turned off his phone.

As a Werewolf, Qiu Rong had excellent night vision. Even without turning on the lights, he could see clearly inside the room.

There was a large study on the third floor of the villa, filled with all sorts of books scattered about. Stepping on the long-unused wooden floor, which made a creaking sound, Qiu Rong walked to the last row of bookshelves and found the books he had read in his childhood.

The history of the supernatural races was mostly passed down orally within families, and written records could only be preserved by the clan leaders.

After the establishment of the Supernatural Control Center in modern times, there was a unified backup of information, but it was difficult to borrow the data due to various reasons.

Huo Zhihang arrived quickly, and as Qiu Rong was coming downstairs, Ruan Sijia was opening the door for someone.

“Clan Leader.” Huo Zhihang was dressed in a suit, looking as if he had just come from a meeting.

Qiu Rong nodded.

Huo Zhihang smiled apologetically at him, then turned to look at his younger brother. Furrowing his brows, he coldly said, “You’ve become bolder.”

After this brief moment, Huo Ye’s emotions had already calmed down, but his ears were still not retracted. He brought his own cap and forcefully pressed down his erect Werewolf ears, lowered his head, and called out, “Ge.”

Huo Zhihang: ”Wait in the car.”

Huo Ye sat on the sofa, tilting his head to look at his brother and then at Qiu Rong.

He stood up, took two steps towards the door, then suddenly made a 180-degree turn and walked towards Qiu Rong.

Huo Zhihang: “The door is this way.”

Boldly ignoring his elder brother behind him, Huo Ye stood in front of Qiu Rong and said earnestly, “As a victim, I still want to see him once more.”

Could you help me get his contact information?

Qiu Rong raised an eyebrow.

He held the wereWerewolf history book he had just found, along with a few other informative books about different races.

Originally, he had planned to give these things to Huo Zhihang and let him decide whether or not to show them to his younger brother. But now, seeing the determination in Huo Ye’s eyes, Qiu Rong directly handed the books to him.

Huo Ye took the stack of books blankly.

So, is this helping or not helping?

Qiu Rong didn’t say whether he was helping or not, he simply said, “Start by reading these books.”

On the other side, Huo Zhihang had no intention of coming in, but seeing that his younger brother completely ignored him, he reluctantly put on disposable shoe covers and came over. When he saw the books in his brother’s hands, he looked momentarily dazed.

Huo Ye understood that his family didn’t want him to get too involved with the supernatural world. He asked his elder brother with his eyes, unsure if he should keep the books or not.

Huo Zhihang nodded in approval, then kicked him out the door.

Huo Ye seized the last few seconds, took an additional kick, and added Qiu Rong on WeChat.

After seeing Huo Ye leave, Qiu Rong said, “You didn’t tell him about the compensation the Vampire Clan offered.”

Huo Zhihang nodded helplessly.

Huo Ye wanted to ask one more question about whether he was liked or not, but the other party had already chosen to resolve the trouble with money, making their stance clear.

“He awakened his bloodline and became a member of the wereWerewolf clan. His identity has already changed, so there’s no need to force him back into his old life,” Qiu Rong said. “Huo Ye is an adult now, and he deserves the right to make his own choices.”

Huo Zhihang sighed. He understood the logic, but when it came to his younger brother, it didn’t work that well.

In Huo Zhihang’s eyes, Huo Ye was still a child who acted without considering the consequences, so how could he be given the right to make choices?

“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you earlier that person is a congenital Vampire Clan,” Huo Zhihang stayed behind just to say this.

Qiu Rong shook his head. “It’s fine.”

Last time, the Blood Prince personally took over this matter, and in the end, he compensated on behalf of the person involved. Qiu Rong had already guessed that the other party was not an ordinary Vampire Clan.

Congenital Vampire Clans have wings, while acquired Vampire Clans do not.

Fifteen years ago, on a night of the full moon, Qiu Rong’s family was attacked. When the Werewolf pack arrived at the scene, they only managed to catch a glimpse of a pair of bat wings spanning nearly five meters.

Since then, Qiu Rong’s life had been turned upside down.

People in the clan generally didn’t mention Vampire Clans with wings in front of the clan leader, for fear of stepping on a landmine.

Huo Zhihang’s gaze swept over the white cloth covering the mansion and could vaguely see that Qiu Rong had replaced the furniture.

When the leader of the Werewolf clan and his family were killed, and the youngest child went missing, Meng Jiadong seized the opportunity to take over the position and secretly claimed the former leader’s assets.

The mansion was far from the city, and Meng Jiadong didn’t stay here for long, but he had replaced all the furniture. Now, looking at the layout of the house, it seemed that Qiu Rong had changed the furniture back.

Huo Zhihang and Qiu Rong’s older brother were friends, but at the time of the incident, he was still immersed in the grief of losing his close friend and didn’t have time to think about Qiu Rong. In just three days, when Huo Zhihang remembered, Qiu Rong had already disappeared.

That’s why Huo Zhihang had always felt guilty towards Qiu Rong. However, they were so familiar with each other that whenever they saw each other, they would be reminded of the past.

So, apart from initially helping Qiu Rong retaliate against Meng Jiadong, they didn’t have much contact later on.

The rain outside was pouring heavily again, and Ruan Sijia had to return to school in the evening. Huo Zhihang offered to give him a ride on the way.

Before leaving, Huo Zhihang looked at Qiu Rong, standing alone in the pale living room, and softly said, “Xiao Rong, don’t overexert yourself.”

Qiu Rong’s tense emotions relaxed a bit after a night, and he nodded, saying, “I know, Huo Ge.”

The mansion was left with only Qiu Rong.

He stood up and washed the cup on the table, listening to the sound of the rain outside the window. Suddenly, he felt the urge to talk to Yan Ling.

Yan Ling: We’re listening to the same rain sound on the diagonals of the city.
