Little Sweet Secretary Chapter 9.1

Chapter 9

They returned to Suicheng just in time for Friday. Shen Mi didn’t have weekends off, whether she could rest depended on whether Xie Rongzhuo went to the company for overtime.

It turns out that talking about people behind their backs really does bring retribution.

Not long ago, she complained to her Master about Xie Rongzhuo not taking her on business trips, giving her the short end of the stick, and feeling suspicious that her life was too leisurely.

“Now it’s good, being kept by Xie Rongzhuo, being squeezed 24 hours a day.”

After this business trip, Shen Mi realized that she had been overthinking things. Xie Rongzhuo’s vision and outlook were completely different from the rich second-generation she had imagined.

Someone who wouldn’t even say an extra word wouldn’t bother to give her, a small employee, the cold shoulder.

Therefore.

Xie Rongzhuo transferred her to headquarters because he valued her abilities!

The caller ID showed “Boss.”

Shen Mi: “…”

It really was like thinking about something and it would happen.

She cleared her throat and answered the phone, “Boss.”

“You’re working overtime tomorrow.”

Xie Rongzhuo’s tone was flat, but the words he said were utterly heartless.

Even though he couldn’t see her, Shen Mi still responded with a smile, “Okay.”

“Tomorrow morning you…”

It was unclear if his attention had been diverted by something else, but the voice on the other end suddenly went silent.

Shen Mi, being a good girl, picked up the conversation, “Bring you breakfast?”

Xie Rongzhuo: “Bring me the due diligence report.”

“Okay.” Shen Mi was about to ask, “Which project’s due diligence report?”

But he had already hung up.

“…”

Shen Mi couldn’t help but be suspicious. Was Xie Rongzhuo wanting to eat breakfast made by her, but too embarrassed to admit it, so he just made up an excuse?

Very good.

Xie Rongzhuo’s “mouth” was already reliant on her.

Next, she just needed to win over his “heart.”

Then she could make him “heart and mouth” agree with her!

Feeling blindly confident for a few seconds.

Shen Mi returned to reality, entered work mode, and called Assistant Zhang to get the documents.

The next morning, Shen Mi brought the cherry-filled snow skin cakes she had made to Xie Rongzhuo’s home.

She arrived earlier than usual today, afraid that ringing the doorbell might wake him, so she directly input the password to open the door.

The master bedroom door was closed.

Shen Mi gently closed the main door, tiptoed to change her shoes, and placed her things on the dining table.

The cloakroom was next to the bedroom, and after washing her hands, Shen Mi quietly waited for Xie Rongzhuo to get up.

A few minutes later, the master bedroom door opened, and Xie Rongzhuo’s tall and slim figure appeared at the doorway. He walked in while buttoning his shirt, heading straight to the island counter, opened the cupboard, took out a water cup, and filled it with hot water.

Shen Mi suspected her presence was too weak to be noticed, so she coughed lightly.

Xie Rongzhuo turned to look at her, his expression natural as he asked, “Want some water?”

“Thank you, Boss, I’m not thirsty.”

Shen Mi took out the folder from her bag and presented it to him with both hands, “This is the due diligence report you asked for last night.”

Xie Rongzhuo leaned against the counter, looking down at her, his black eyes behind his glasses revealing no emotion.

He set down his water cup, walked over to pick up the document, and began to read it intently.

He read things quickly, finishing the eight-page report within five minutes.

“Did you do the data at the end?”

He could tell that?

Shen Mi smiled modestly, “How could I have the ability to do that? Mainly, you needed it urgently, and there were a few financial data points that hadn’t been organized yet, so I helped a little, just helped them tidy it up.”

Last night, when Shen Mi called Zhang Wenzhu to get the documents, Zhang Wenzhu was also confused. However, there were only one or two priority projects that the boss was focusing on in recent days, so it was easy to guess. But one of them still had a few data points that hadn’t been verified, and Shen Mi ended up helping to work overtime to get it done.

Shen Mi knew that for a newcomer like her, the big boss valued her attitude towards work more than her experience or ability.

From Xie Rongzhuo’s expression, it was clear that she had worked late last night with a very good attitude.

Xie Rongzhuo closed the report and handed the folder over. He didn’t like things to be messy, and Shen Mi understood, taking it and placing it in the study.

On the desk in the study was a family portrait of the Xie family. The middle-aged man standing next to Xie Rongzhuo, who resembled him in outline, should be his deceased older brother. He looked quite old, suggesting that Xie Rongzhuo was born to his parents later in life.

Thinking about Xie Rongzhuo’s academic excellence and high intelligence, Shen Mi wondered if children born to parents who marry and have children later in life tend to be smarter?

Shen Mi didn’t linger, taking a quick glance before withdrawing her gaze and putting down the file to wash her hands.

After washing her hands, she walked into Xie Rongzhuo’s bedroom.

The fully transparent wardrobe in the dressing room was spotless. Shirts and suit jackets were neatly arranged, revealing the owner’s impeccable taste. Stepping in, she was instantly enveloped in an atmosphere of masculine hormones.

Shen Mi opened the cabinet and took out a suit jacket, adding a dark tie.

By the time Xie Rongzhuo finished breakfast and came in, Shen Mi had already made his bed. Actually, there was a dedicated maid for these tasks, but Shen Mi just wanted to make a good impression.

“Boss,” Shen Mi stood by the bed, smiling as she asked, “How was breakfast this morning?”

Xie Rongzhuo glanced at the bed behind her, then shifted his gaze to her, his eyes holding an ambiguous meaning.

“Very good,” he replied.

“But, there seems to be a problem with the recently imported cherries. To avoid affecting your health, should we switch to something else?”

Offering too much value for free can lead to customers expecting it as a standard discount. It’s best not to give too much sweetness at once.

Shen Mi smiled and ended the service, “Which breakfast place do you prefer? I’ll buy it for you tomorrow.”

Xie Rongzhuo: “I don’t like any of them.”

Not liking any of them meant he only liked hers!

But if she asked directly, Xie Rongzhuo wouldn’t admit it.
