Chapter 19
Gu Manli was astonished. She knew that Qin Muye had gone back to his hometown to get married, and she had heard that it was an arranged marriage made by his father before he passed away.
“Yeah.” He answered simply, and Qin Muye wanted to go back to the guest house quickly.
“Why did she come to join the army?” Gu Manli blurted out.
Hearing this, Qin Muye felt a little strange, he replied in a low voice: “She wanted to come, so she came.”
“Then you want to…” Gu Manli was about to ask what he meant, but she was interrupted.
“Comrade Gu, if you have nothing else to say, I’ll be going.” Qin Muye interrupted seriously.
He didn’t have time to chat with her.
Seeing this, Gu Manli smiled and said: “Okay, then Captain Qin, go ahead and get busy, we’ll chat another time.”
Qin Muye nodded faintly and strode forward.
Gu Manli stood there, looking at Qin Muye’s back, her heart filled with sadness.
“Why did Captain Qin’s wife come to the army, she must be a nagging person, Captain Qin couldn’t refuse her.” Gu Manli said angrily.
Thinking about the youngest regiment commander in the army, he could have married a girl who was excellent enough to match him. But because of his parents, he had to marry a girl from the countryside, Gu Manli felt sorry for him when she thought about it.
“It’s all his parents’ fault, he’s already a regiment commander, why don’t they think of a way to help him break off the engagement.” Gu Manli complained.
He could have had a bright future, a wife who could fight alongside him, but they were all ruined by a country girl.
However, she felt that Qin Muye didn’t like this marriage, even if he married her, that country girl would be a lonely wife.
After all, she had heard that Qin Muye had a girl he had liked for many years.
Collecting her thoughts, Gu Manli smiled and continued walking forward.
Leaving the army, Qin Muye went directly to the guest house.
In the room, Jiang Muning was lying softly on the bed. Seeing her like this, Qin Muye was surprised: “Very tired?”
Jiang Muning lazily opened her eyes and said pitifully: “My back hurts.”
It was the first time she had done farm work, she kept bending over, the soreness was more tiring than spending a night with him.
Hearing this, Qin Muye frowned: “Let me see.”
Jiang Muning obediently turned over and lay on the bed, Qin Muye’s hand fell on her waist.
As his thumb pressed down, Jiang Muning screamed in pain.
“Ouch, it hurts, it hurts…”
“Did you sprain it?” Qin Muye’s brow furrowed even more, how could she sprain her back for no reason?
Jiang Muning couldn’t tell the truth, so she made up an excuse: “It must be from sitting in the car for so long, my back hurts.”
Qin Muye didn’t think much of it, his fingers pressed on her sore waist.
Her soft cry of pain came through, it could be heard through the door. If their room wasn’t on the edge, and no one was passing by, the investigation team would have come knocking.
With Qin Muye’s service, Jiang Muning’s back pain finally eased.
Putting the bag aside, Qin Muye stood straight: “I have to go back to the army, to write a formal application.”
Jiang Muning, who had been comfortably served, sat up, sat at the foot of the bed, and wrapped her arms around his strong waist: “Are you sure you won’t come here tonight?”
Looking down at her, Qin Muye’s throat tightened, he replied in a low voice: “Yeah.”
“Okay then.” Jiang Muning raised her eyebrows slightly, and was about to let go.
As soon as she let go, Qin Muye quickly grabbed her arm, coughed lightly, and said: “I’ll come to pick you up tomorrow, and we’ll stay in the family quarters tomorrow night.”
Huh? Jiang Muning didn’t understand his subtext, she chuckled and replied: “Okay, I’ll be waiting for you.”
Looking at her charming smile, Qin Muye momentarily forgot how to breathe, he immediately turned his head: “I’m going.”
Qin Muye took a step, his pace was a little messy as he left.
Seeing him leave in such a hurry, Jiang Muning muttered in frustration: “Why is he in such a hurry, how much he doesn’t like me.”
Jiang Muning picked up the change of clothes Qin Muye brought, and prepared to take a shower.
The next morning, Jiang Muning and Jiang Heng got up early.
Looking at her with her braids, Jiang Heng made his usual complaint: “You’re pretending to be a little kid, you’re already a twenty-three-year-old old woman.”
Jiang Muning kicked his buttocks, and said proudly: “Get lost, your sister is eighteen years old, a beautiful flower. Unlike you, a withered old bean sprout.”
Jiang Heng’s face turned red, he put his hands on his hips, his face flushed red and his neck was thick as he denied: “This handsome guy is white, this face, if I nurture it for a few more days, I’ll be a handsome, sunny and cheerful young man again.”
Jiang Heng had a heart attack: We both transmigrated, why does Jiang Muning get all the favor, she has fair skin, beautiful appearance, and even became younger, while I…
A bitter tear.
Seeing his expression that looked like he wanted to cry, Jiang Muning covered her mouth and snickered, she patted his hard chest: “Okay, we’ll buy you skincare products with the money we earn.”
“You still have a conscience.” Jiang Heng was satisfied.
“Otherwise, you’ll be an old bachelor who can’t find a partner, and you’ll blame me.”
“…”
The two of them bickered all the way, under the guidance of the space task bar, they arrived at the beach.
There was no beach here, but there were many large reefs.
When they arrived at the reefs, the sea breeze blew in their faces.
“When I went to the beach to play before, I saw a lot of people who were chasing the tides and digging snails at the reefs, this time I can finally try it.”
Holding the basic tools provided by the space, the two of them walked with difficulty to the largest reef.
Because the tide had just started to recede, the seawater left traces on the reef.
Jiang Muning leaned closer to take a closer look, she exclaimed in surprise: “There are so many.”
“Dig, these are chili snails, let’s get a few pounds, we can earn hundreds of yuan a day.”
Hearing this, Jiang Muning was excited, she took a small pliers and vigorously pried at the reef.
Twenty minutes later, Jiang Muning looked at the cuts on her fingers, the pain made her bite her lower lip.
She wanted to rest, but seeing Jiang Heng still digging and digging, Jiang Muning gritted her teeth and continued.
After an hour, the two finally finished their snail-digging work for the day.
Jiang Muning sat on the reef like she was out of commission, watching the waves constantly hitting the reef.
Jiang Heng put the chili snails into the space and submitted the order.
“Guess how much we earned, 100 yuan!” Jiang Heng said excitedly, “I kept some, after you move into the family quarters today, you can boil a plate and eat it with vinegar.”
Hearing the number, Jiang Muning said with a sigh: “Coming to this world, I realized that making money is really not easy.”
“That’s right, it’s also because we’re lucky, we didn’t know the hardships of life back then.”
“Now we know.”
After blowing the sea breeze for a while, the two of them prepared to go back to the guest house, chatting about how to spend the money as they walked.
Just as they reached downstairs of the guest house, they saw a figure rushing away.
“Brother Makino?”
Hearing the voice, Qin Muye quickly turned his head. When he saw her, Qin Muye’s expression was serious, his already cold voice was even colder: “Where have you been?”
He had come to the guest house early in the morning, but Jiang Muning was nowhere to be found.
He didn’t see Jiang Heng either, he thought Jiang Heng had taken her away.
“The beach.” Jiang Muning answered truthfully.
Hearing this, Qin Muye’s cold features were covered with frost: “You went to the beach early in the morning, Jiang Muning, are you trying to die?”
Seeing Qin Muye with his angry face, Jiang Muning was stunned.
