【Wind Cloak】, huh… A defensive-type blessing!
Blessings not only need to be mastered but also require a bit of a knack to activate. Maybe I should practice with it in the dungeon for a while?
Starting with 【Amber Shield】, enhancing 【Floating Orb】, and 【Amber Sword】—the results lean a bit toward the defensive side, but I’d say it’s a jackpot nonetheless.
“Alright! One last try!”
Once this is over, it might not be a bad idea to visit the dungeon for a bit.
Not for hunting, just to test the activation.
That way, I wouldn’t disturb the hunting grounds, and doing it in the shallows shouldn’t bother anyone.
“Here we go.”
Man… The first half was rough, but the second half made up for it.
I was worried about how things would turn out, but this feels like a win now!
“And… done.”
【Purple Feather】
“Huh?”
I couldn’t help but exclaim at the sudden words that appeared.
What was that?
“Seria?”
“Uh… no, just now, some words appeared?”
I replied hesitantly to Seriana, who looked at me curiously.
Feather? Does it grow? A blessing?
…Um…?
“Oh.”
As I mulled it over in my head, something appeared right in front of me.
A divine gift?
“……A flower?”
I instinctively caught it, but it was clearly not a feather—it was a flower.
Feather and flower… A one-character difference. The gods sure have a unique sense of humor.
“Well, good for you! It’s a divine gift.”
Even if it’s odd, Seriana congratulated me for drawing a hit.
“A flower… And it’s purple. Seria, what’s its name?”
On the other hand, Fiora inquired about it.
Her tone had a slight edge… What’s going on?
She seems fixated on the “purple” part…
“It’s called 【Purple Feather】. Do you know it?”
Fiora didn’t reply, placing a hand to her mouth while scrutinizing the flower in my hand with a troubled expression.
That’s unusual… Could it be something dangerous?
“It’s… a flower, right?”
“Right?”
Seriana, unbothered by Fiora’s demeanor, leaned in close to the flower I was holding.
Well… I haven’t activated or released it yet, so it shouldn’t be dangerous at this stage.
I also brought it closer to my face to examine it more closely.
It looked like a large purple flower, with petals drooping slightly.
It resembled a lily, perhaps?
I was holding the stem now, but I wondered how the petals felt to the touch.
As I reached out a finger…
“Whoa!”
A hand shot out from the side, stopping me, and I instinctively shouted in surprise.
“Lady, please refrain from touching it directly.”
The hand belonged to Teresa, who apparently wanted to prevent me from touching the petals.
…But is it okay to grip the stem so firmly?
“Fiora, do you know something? Teresa, you too?”
Seriana’s question prompted Teresa to nod.
“When the name contains ‘purple,’ it often involves poison. This isn’t common knowledge among civilians or even nobles. Only certain families, knight orders, or parts of the Mage Association would be aware of it.”
Hearing that, Seriana and I exchanged glances.
She seemed to take a step or two back, but… was that just my imagination?
“…I’m gripping it pretty tightly, though.”
“It hasn’t been activated or released yet, so you should be fine. Still, to be safe, refrain from touching the petals carelessly,” Teresa replied with a reassuring smile.
So, it’s not dangerous for now… though I can’t let my guard down.
What should I do… Should I just go ahead and release it myself?
“We should release it immediately. That way, it’ll be easier to control… Right, Fiora?”
“Yes… At this point, we don’t know if it has any active effects. It’s better to release it now. Don’t worry, Seria. Even if something happens, I can treat it.”
Fiora finally answered, though her words weren’t exactly reassuring.
“…Not comforting, but okay.”
I couldn’t help but feel uneasy about her reply.
Maybe I should activate 【Prayer】 just to be safe.
“Alright! Let’s do this… Wait, what are you doing, Seriana?”
I was about to release it quickly, but Seriana reached out her hand toward me.
“What do you mean? You’re going to release it, right? Hand it over quickly.”
She spoke as if it were the most natural thing to say.
“…It might be dangerous, you know?”
Fiora said it would be okay, but why take the risk?
“I have more resistance than you. If anything happens, I’ll be able to stop it instead of you.”
…Is my physical resilience really that questionable?
I wish she wouldn’t do dangerous things, but her logic made sense.
“Alright then. I’ll leave it to you.”
“Good. Let’s get this over with.”
I handed her the flower, still gripping it by the stem.
She placed her hand over mine, completing the release.
The flower disappeared, and in its place, I felt something solid in my hand.
Its shape seemed to have changed.
Seriana picked it up and examined it closely.
“A brooch, perhaps?”
I see… A brooch.
It resembled the flower before its release, and its color remained purple.
It’s meant to be worn on the chest, but… testing it out here doesn’t seem appropriate.
Still…
“…What’s the deal with ‘feather’ anyway?”
“We’ll find out when it’s activated.”
After inspecting it thoroughly, she handed it back to me.
“Phew…”
A divine coin gacha, 10 pulls.
The results were mostly satisfying, but this last one was utterly baffling…
