Chapter 19.1 Shu Qingyao’s Trouble
Shu Qingyao felt that Xie Hezhang had been avoiding her lately.
Not to mention that he had left for work early in the morning when she went to pick up Xie Xiaoqian.
She couldn’t even catch a glimpse of him.
Even the food she had asked Xie Xiaoqian to bring him was returned to her untouched the next day.
This obvious act of distancing himself left Shu Qingyao baffled and annoyed.
Men really could change their minds faster than they could turn a page.
Yesterday he was calling her “Little Qingyao,” and today he was pretending not to know her.
Shu Qingyao was never a passive person.
After much thought, she decided to go directly to his house and ambush him.
It was a weekend, and Xie Hezhang was off work today. Shu Qingyao asked the cook to bake her a few pork patties and made a vegetable soup. She packed them up, put them in her small floral cloth bag, and went out to find Xie Hezhang.
When she arrived at the Wang family’s house, Shu Qingyao stood at the fence with her small cloth bag in hand, “Xie Hezhang, are you home?”
“Creak,” a young man in a pair of slippers, shirtless and half-asleep, appeared at the door.
His face was covered in pockmarks, looking sleazy and listless. He looked five points similar to Wang Xingde.
It was Xie Hezhang’s cousin, Wang Wei.
As soon as Wang Wei saw her, his eyes lit up. He greeted her, “Teacher Shu, you’re looking for Hezhang. Come in and sit down.”
Shu Qingyao didn’t have a good impression of the Wang family.
She still remembered that Xie Xiaoqian had been driven to death by this family.
And this Wang Wei, she hadn’t heard Xie Hezhang mention him after they got married. Perhaps, although they were the same age, their relationship wasn’t very good.
Most importantly, although Wang Wei was Xie Hezhang’s cousin, they didn’t look alike at all.
Not only did they not look alike, but he was also kind of ugly.
Shu Qingyao was a bit of a lookist. After seeing Xie Hezhang’s handsome and upright face, she found Wang Wei a bit eye-catching.
She didn’t look at him. She just glanced inside, “Is Xie Hezhang here? I brought him some food.”
“…” Wang Wei looked at the pretty and petite female educated youth in front of him, his eyes rolled, and he smiled, “He’s here. He’s sleeping in the inner room. Come in first, and I’ll go call him for you.”
Shu Qingyao didn’t suspect anything. Thinking that Xie Hezhang worked in the fields every day, it was possible that he got up late today. She followed Wang Wei inside.
The Wang family’s house was quiet. Xie Helan didn’t seem to be home either.
Shu Qingyao took out the lunchbox from her cloth bag and placed it on the table. She didn’t see Wang Wei gently closing the door behind her…
By the time Shu Qingyao realized something was wrong, Wang Wei had already approached her, standing a step away.
“What are you doing?!”
She turned her head sharply, saw that the door was closed, and her face changed.
Wang Wei looked at the delicate female educated youth in front of him. In the enclosed space, he could smell the scent of her (snowflake cream), a scent that rural women didn’t have.
Those women only smelled of chicken manure, pig manure, and mud. They didn’t smell as fragrant as the female educated youths from the city.
He looked at Shu Qingyao, a little excited, “Qingyao, I like you. Be my girlfriend! Don’t pay attention to Xie Hezhang, that unlucky guy. His ancestors were landlords, he’ll never be successful. My dad is a village cadre. If you’re with me, I’ll ask him to find a way to get you transferred back to the city. Okay?”
“…”
Shu Qingyao glanced at him, knowing that she had been tricked by this man. Xie Hezhang wasn’t home today.
Looking at the lewd and lustful light in the man’s eyes, she took a step back and rushed towards the door.
However, Wang Wei was blocking the door. As soon as Shu Qingyao moved, he grabbed her in a hug.
The fragrant and soft woman in his arms made Wang Wei go crazy. He hadn’t intended to do anything to her, but now, his blood was boiling. He suddenly pressed Shu Qingyao down on the table and started to grope her.
Shu Qingyao screamed for help, but the Wang family’s house was quiet. It seemed that even Xie Xiaoqian had been taken out by Xie Hezhang.
The man’s stench hit her face, a different smell from the pleasant scent of grass on Xie Hezhang. Shu Qingyao’s legs went weak, and she desperately tried to push him away. The man’s pockmarked face rubbed against her slender neck, and he panted as he rubbed.
“Qingyao, I like you so much. Be my girlfriend. You smell so good!”
“Bang!”
A bowl on the table was smashed against Wang Wei’s head by Shu Qingyao.
Blood splattered everywhere.
The man shuddered.
Then he fell straight down.
Shu Qingyao cried as she stood up. She was panting, her legs shaking so much she could barely stand.
Looking at Wang Wei, who was lying on the ground, blood slowly seeping out of the back of his head.
Shu Qingyao thought blankly.
She had killed someone…
Xie Helan went to the black market to buy half a kilogram of eggs for Wang Wei.
“Wei, come and see what Mom brought you today!”
She carried a basket of groceries, beaming with joy, and went to the door to try to open it. She found that the door was locked from the inside.
“Wei, open the door quickly. What are you doing inside?”
She knocked on the door hard and shouted into the house.
“Bang!”
The closed door suddenly opened from the inside.
Shu Qingyao, disheveled and with a few drops of blood on her face, appeared before her.
The smile on Xie Helan’s face froze. She glanced at Shu Qingyao, who was pale and distraught, and then, following her side, looked at Wang Wei, who was lying unconscious on the ground.
She dropped the basket and rushed over, screaming, “My son—!”
