Wife, please take responsibility. Chapter 46 – Cooking

Rationally, Wang Xiaoke knew that she had to cling to this guy’s leg, but seeing his disdainful expression, she couldn’t help but feel a surge of anger.

For once, Chen Ze didn’t pursue the issue of her not completing the task within the designated time. Instead, he spoke in a cold, indifferent tone: “I’m a patient too. I’m hungry now, I need food.”

Wang Xiaoke guessed that this guy was probably just embarrassed and had come up with such an awkward excuse to make things easier. She didn’t call him out on it and decided to give him a little face.

“What would you like to eat? I’ll order takeout for you,” she said.

Chen Ze directly rejected her offer: “I don’t eat that garbage from outside. Also, I didn’t ask you here to just be a decoration.” His meaning was very clear—this task was within Wang Xiaoke’s duties.

“I got it, I’ll cook for you then.” Wang Xiaoke could only accept her fate. “What would you like to eat? I only know how to make simple dishes.”

Chen Ze’s lips moved, and without taking a breath, he listed a series of dishes: “Sweet and sour pork, braised pork, boiled fish, shrimp in egg white, steamed eggplant, and vegetable soup.”

Wang Xiaoke was stunned. “Bro, I asked you to pick something simple.”

“This is as simple as it gets for me. I haven’t had a meal like this in a long time. I’m not used to it,” Chen Ze replied indifferently. But every word he said felt like a heavy blow to Wang Xiaoke.

“But, I don’t know how to make any of those,” Wang Xiaoke said, lacking confidence.

Chen Ze didn’t make things difficult for her in this regard. If the food wasn’t tasty, it would just be a waste of ingredients, so it was better to choose something she was good at.

“Then what can you make? Tell me,” he said.

“Fried rice, scrambled eggs, fried rice—three things. Which one do you want?” Wang Xiaoke quickly replied.

Chen Ze looked at her with a curious expression, as if she were an alien. “Are you sure you’re talking about three different things?”

Wang Xiaoke gave him a look of disdain, as if he were an idiot, and said, “Yes, that’s three. Didn’t you graduate from elementary school? You can’t even count this?”

Chen Ze was too tired to retort and collapsed onto the bed. “Fine, give me a bowl of egg fried rice with eggs and rice.”

On the other side, when Song Zhe walked in, he saw Song Yi lying on the sofa, looking like a wilted eggplant.

Curious, he asked, “You seem distracted. What happened?”

“I found her,” Song Yi’s handsome face was buried in the pillow, his voice muffled.

“Well, congratulations,” Song Zhe said indifferently, turning to head for his room.

When Song Yi saw him act as if he wasn’t going to deal with him anymore, he got so annoyed that his nose almost wrinkled. He shouted, “Hey, I’m your brother! You should show a little brotherly love!”

Song Zhe finally stopped, glanced at him coldly, and said, “Spill it, let me see if I can help.”

“Well, I don’t need help. I’m just a little curious… how do other people find girlfriends?” Song Yi asked indirectly.

He thought that by learning from others’ successful experiences, he could identify the problems and find solutions. He didn’t believe that even though he was interested in a mature woman, she would slip through his fingers.

“This is simple. The most direct and effective method is to make it official first,” Song Zhe answered with the tone of someone who had been through it.

Song Yi stroked his chin, thinking for a moment before asking, “But what if it doesn’t work out, what should I do?” He looked expectantly at Song Zhe for an answer.

“Then just keep trying. If you keep at it, eventually it’ll work,” Song Zhe said without any hesitation, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
