After finishing their meal, the two left the base and headed straight to a nearby movie theater. Kuang Ye’s vacation only had two days left, and once Mu Wan’s agency officially launched, she would surely be busy for a while. Both of them cherished the time they could spend together now.

After watching the movie, they wandered around the nearby area without any particular destination, simply holding hands and strolling through a park. The cool breeze brushing against their faces was enough to make them feel at ease.

But nature didn’t cooperate. Midway through their walk, the sky darkened, and before long, large raindrops began to fall. Kuang Ye quickly grabbed Mu Wan’s hand and led her back to the car, though both of them were somewhat drenched by the time they got inside.

Mu Wan said, “Let’s go back to the apartment to change clothes first.” The weather had already turned to autumn, and catching a cold now would mean at least ten days of misery.

Kuang Ye nodded, “There’s a blanket in the back seat. I’ll roll up the windows. If your wet clothes are uncomfortable, you can change into it first.”

He was driving a car with privacy-tinted windows that day.

Mu Wan looked down at her white knitted sweater, which was soaking wet and clinging uncomfortably to her body, heavy and damp. She hesitated for a moment, knowing it would take another half-hour to get back to the apartment. Finally, she reached for the blanket.

“Just focus on driving,” she said.

To avoid being seen through the windshield, she draped the blanket across the top of the two front seats, creating a simple curtain. Then, she began to take off her sweater.

Though Kuang Ye couldn’t see her directly, the rustling sounds of fabric were enough for him to imagine what she was doing. His gaze darkened, and his Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed hard.

Since their first intimate moment in Mu Wan’s room, they hadn’t had another chance to get closer. Yet that single experience left him with a craving he couldn’t ignore. Even the faintest spark of ambiguity could ignite a wildfire of desire.

Involuntarily, Kuang Ye glanced at the rearview mirror, his eyes catching a fleeting glimpse of the back seat.

There she was, removing her wet clothes. Though she quickly covered herself with the blanket, that brief moment of exposed skin was enough to stir something deep inside him.

His breath quickened.

Kuang Ye immediately lowered his head and forced himself to focus on driving, shaking off any improper thoughts.

The car eventually pulled into the underground parking lot of the apartment building. Since it was a private elevator requiring card access, there was no worry about running into others.

Kuang Ye packed Mu Wan’s wet clothes into a plastic bag, then wrapped her snugly in the blanket like a cocoon before carrying her princess-style into the elevator.

Mu Wan, worried that the security staff monitoring the cameras might see, curled herself into a small ball. She buried her head in the blanket and nervously clutched its edges.

Soon, the elevator dinged, and the doors opened. Mu Wan finally let out a sigh of relief.

Kuang Ye unlocked the apartment door with his fingerprint. The moment it closed behind them, he couldn’t hold back any longer. He peeled away the blanket and pressed a deep kiss to his lover’s lips.

He had been holding back the entire way.

Still cradled in his arms, Mu Wan felt her entire body go weak. Her soft, delicate arms slipped out from under the blanket and clung feebly to his shirt.

“Ah Ye… take a shower first…” she murmured.

Kuang Ye’s clothes were still damp, and Mu Wan’s hair was wet as well.

After greedily stealing a few more sweet kisses, he finally lifted his head. His voice, rough and hoarse, murmured, “I’ll run you a bath.”

Mu Wan nodded, assuming he would set her down. But instead, Kuang Ye carried her directly into the bathroom and stepped into the tub with her still in his arms. Holding her securely with one hand, he used the other to turn on the hot water.

Mu Wan’s eyes widened in shock. “!!”

The air suddenly felt stifling. She hesitated and tried to suggest, “Maybe you should put me down first—mmph!”

Before she could finish, his lips claimed hers once again, silencing her words.

The bathroom’s air conditioner hummed softly in the background as Kuang Ye, like peeling an onion, carefully unwrapped Mu Wan from the blanket.

Her smooth, porcelain-like skin seemed as pristine as a blank canvas—one that he couldn’t help but want to mark with his own touch.

His kisses trailed downward, unhindered now without the barrier of fabric. His hands, nimble and warm, moved over her sensitive skin, caressing her with a deep intimacy.

When the water level was just right, Kuang Ye gently placed Mu Wan into the tub.
