After Agreeing To Marry My Arch-enemy
After Agreeing To Marry My Arch-Enemy | Chapter 33

Chapter 33 – 033

“Why aren’t you saying anything? Feeling shy?”

“Shy, my foot!” Gu Xian grabbed the pillow beside him and aimed it at Xie Yunjing’s face.

Xie Yunjing effortlessly snatched the pillow away and tossed it aside, grabbing both of Gu Xian’s hands in one swift motion. “Looks like your true feelings come out after drinking.”

“Stop being so narcissistic!” Gu Xian snapped out of his embarrassed rage. “Even if I was the one who kissed you, so what? You didn’t push me away either!”

The kiss lasted for quite a while, he was absolutely certain he hadn’t misremembered.

Xie Yunjing sighed and said, “Last night, if I didn’t let you kiss me, you would’ve made an even bigger fuss, nearly poking my eyes out in the process. To save myself the trouble, I had no choice but to sacrifice myself a little, didn’t I?”

“To hell with you! Why didn’t I actually poke your eyes out? Hiss—” Gu Xian suddenly lurched forward, the overly intense emotions stirring sharp pangs in his head.

A firm and soothing pressure landed on his temples. He looked up in surprise. “What are you doing?”

Xie Yunjing, while massaging his head, said, “Professional technique, you don’t need it?”

“…” Although he found it a bit odd, the relief from the headache that had been nagging him all morning was undeniably comforting, leaving Gu Xian feeling both numbed and reluctant to stop.

Besides, with Xie Yunjing serving him, he was clearly the one gaining the advantage, why would he refuse?

“Lower your head a bit more.”

Xie Yunjing adjusted his position as requested, and Gu Xian, too lazy to hold himself up, simply leaned forward and rested directly on Xie Yunjing’s chest.

Seeing him squint his eyes in comfort, Xie Yunjing smiled subtly, without a trace of pretense.

After the lively opening ceremony, 《The Legend of Song Mountain》 officially began filming. With Guangyao Media currently having no other business to attend to, Gu Xian decided to stay on set every day to oversee the production.

Although it was already winter, the weather today was exceptionally pleasant. Gu Xian took off his coat, leaving just a wool sweater, basking in the brilliant sunshine. The rare warmth of a winter’s day made him feel a bit drowsy. However, the greetings left behind by a few actresses as they walked past him suddenly jolted him awake.

“Oh my, I didn’t expect that Mr. Gu was already married.”

“We were secretly discussing before if there was a chance to marry into a wealthy family through Mr. Gu, but it seems there’s no hope now!”

“How embarrassing! How can you say something like that in front of Mr. Gu?”

The atmosphere on set was relaxed, and the actors were comfortable joking around with Gu Xian. Laughing and giggling, they prepared to run off after their teasing remarks. However, Gu Xian suddenly sat up on his lounge chair, alert.

“How do you know I’m married?”

The only people on set who knew about his marriage were Yu Le, Ke Silin, Xu Jia, and He Xinchen. Yu Le was back at the company, and the others weren’t the type to spread gossip about his private affairs.

“Huh?” The actresses looked surprised. “Mr. Gu, your partner came to the set. Didn’t he tell you?”

They instinctively glanced in the same direction. After following their gaze, Gu Xian saw Xie Yunjing strolling toward him with a casual air of exploration. In his hand, he was holding a small, familiar, dark red booklet.

“…”

This guy really couldn’t let go of the marriage certificate, could he?!

Gu Xian forced a fake smile. “He’s probably trying to surprise me.”

“Mr. Gu and Mr. Xie have such a great relationship!” The actresses giggled a few more times before finally hurrying off. “Mr. Gu, we’ll go shoot our scenes now!”

As for why these actresses knew Xie Yunjing’s surname, there was no need to think too hard, it was obviously because Xie Yunjing had shown them the marriage certificate.

Gu Xian ground his teeth but didn’t get up. Instead, he lay back down.

After all, Xie Yunjing would come over on his own, why should he bother taking those extra steps?

Gu Xian closed his eyes, out of sight, out of mind. However, when he felt the weight on his face disappear, he had no choice but to open his eyes, glaring at Xie Yunjing, who had just taken his sunglasses. “Can you stop showing people our marriage certificate every chance you get?!”

Xie Yunjing put the sunglasses on himself, adding a touch of coolness to his already dashing suit. As he glanced around, his presence instantly caused a wave of infatuated murmurs among the actors secretly observing him.

“…”

Annoyed, Gu Xian gave him a light kick. “Stop disrupting the crew’s filming!”

“What did I do?” Xie Yunjing replied in an exaggeratedly innocent tone. He pulled a stool over and sat down next to Gu Xian’s lounge chair. “Without the marriage certificate, I couldn’t even get onto the set to see you. Why don’t you issue me a ‘Gu Xian Access Pass’ or a ‘Gu Xian Family ID’ instead?”

“In your dreams!” Gu Xian rolled his eyes at him, displeased. “You suddenly show up at the set, and later Xie Huaihong will come after me, asking why I gave him false information!”

“I’m just giving him a break,” Xie Yunjing said, propping his elbow on the armrest of the lounge chair and resting his chin in one hand. “A few days ago, I ‘messed up’ at the company, so several important deals were handed over to Xie Huaihong to handle. With nothing to do, why not come and check out the production I invested in?”

“At least give me a heads-up before coming,” Gu Xian retorted, refusing to buy his explanation. “You clearly came to see me, and because I didn’t notify Xie Huaihong in time, now he’s going to start doubting whether our relationship is as hostile as he thought!”

“That’s exactly what I wanted,” Xie Yunjing replied with a sly smile.

“Mr. Gu?” A staff member carrying several bags of bubble tea hesitantly interrupted their conversation. “Your bubble tea order has arrived.”

Gu Xian gestured toward the table beside him with a nod. “Put it there. Go let the others know they can come grab one if they want.”

Xie Yunjing watched as the staff member ran off to inform the others, then asked, “Is there one for me?”

“Get it yourself if you want one!” Gu Xian had already grabbed a cup, inserted the straw, and started drinking.

Xie Yunjing stood up, walked around him to the table, and scanned the array of bubble tea options. After a moment, he picked up a cup of mango pomelo sago.

Gu Xian hadn’t intended to look at him, but the crisp sound of the straw puncturing the lid of the bubble tea made him glance over despite himself. He was curious to see what flavor of bubble tea this wealthy young master, who seemed completely disconnected from junk food, would choose.

Xie Yunjing had already placed the straw in his mouth when Gu Xian suddenly jumped up and, in an exceptionally rough manner, snatched the mango pomelo sago out of his hand.

“Are you an idiot?!” Gu Xian roared in a low voice. “There’s mango in this!”

Xie Yunjing frowned, clearly displeased. “I’ve never had it before, how was I supposed to know?”

Gu Xian rolled his eyes in disdain and shoved his own cup of bubble tea into Xie Yunjing’s hands. Then, taking two big gulps of the mango pomelo sago he had just snatched, he barked, “Drink mine!”

Irritated, he turned his head away, completely missing the fleeting smile that crossed Xie Yunjing’s face.

“Not worried about my germs?”

“Give me a break. Stop being so pretentious. We’ve kissed more than a few times already.”

Xie Yunjing happily placed his lips on the straw that Gu Xian had bitten. Even though the bubble tea was far too sweet for his taste, he didn’t show the slightest hint of distaste.

“What did you mean by ‘That’s exactly what I wanted’?” Gu Xian brought up the earlier conversation that had been interrupted.

Xie Yunjing took another leisurely sip of the bubble tea before explaining, “My daily schedule is completely known by Xie Huaihong. Who do you think I should be most suspicious of?”

Of course, it was none other than his pillow-side companion and arch-enemy, Gu Xian himself.

Gu Xian raised his eyebrow. “So, are you here to pick a fight with me?”

Xie Yunjing nodded. “Why not throw that cup of bubble tea at me?”

“What kind of terrible idea is that?”

Even skin contact could trigger an allergic reaction.

Gu Xian bit down on his straw and said, “Arguing in front of so many people on set would look way too fake.”

He finally got up from the lounge chair. “Come with me.”

Gu Xian led Xie Yunjing to a secluded corner where no one could see them, but then he seemed a bit troubled.

Xie Yunjing asked, “What’s wrong?”

Gu Xian said irritably, “I’m thinking about how to start this fight. You haven’t done anything punch-worthy right now, and I’m not some lunatic who can just go off and start yelling for no reason…”

“Xie Yunjing, are you out of your damn mind?!”

An incredibly loud roar echoed through the entire set.

In the corner, Gu Xian touched the corner of his lips that had just been kissed, his face full of shock.

Xie Yunjing smiled earnestly. “See? Now you’ve got a reason to yell.”
