Kuang Ye quickly begged for mercy, then, seemingly casually, asked, “I heard from Assistant Wang that you ran into an old classmate at the party.”

Mu Wan nodded. “It’s the class monitor from high school. He’s changed a lot since then. I almost didn’t recognize him. He also said he’s organizing a reunion and asked if I would attend, but you know how busy I am now, I’m afraid I won’t have time.”

Then, she angled the camera towards herself and Kong Shuai. “Ah Ye, this is my high school classmate Kong Shuai, the one I mentioned earlier.”

Kong Shuai looked at the fake smile on Kuang Ye’s face in the phone and didn’t change his own smile.

“You two seem to be very close.”

Kuang Ye, following Mu Wan’s lead, greeted Kong Shuai without any hesitation. “Class monitor, hello. I heard Wan wan say you’re organizing a reunion. If she attend, can she bring family? I’d love to meet Wan wan’s old classmates!”

Kong Shuai tightened his grip on the champagne glass. “Of course.”

Kuang Ye: “Thanks, class monitor. Let’s add each other on WeChat, you can let me know about the reunion. Wan wan is often busy, and her phone is off, so I have to reach her through her assistant.”

Kong Shuai: “…”
