In the following global competition, “Kuang Ye” seemed to be aided by some divine force. Despite everyone advising him not to play, he insisted on taking the field. Even when Zhang Qinan tried to force him to withdraw, Kuang Ye revealed his identity as the owner of the team.
“Manager, the Su You club originally belonged to me, but I sold it. I didn’t sell the ST club. I’m afraid the new owner might treat you harshly.”
“Let me play. I can still do it. I want to win the championship and confess to the person I like.”
Zhang Qinan looked at his body, which had become nothing but skin and bones, and tears unknowingly fell.
“Ah Ye, what happened to you? Please tell me, let’s think of a way together.”
Kuang Ye smiled, his face bright in a way it had never been before. “It’s nothing, really, it’s nothing.”
— Whether it was Mu Wan’s spirit protecting him from above or Kuang Ye’s reckless desire to win that drove him, ST finally made it to the finals. Before the finals began, Kuang Ye returned home. Mu Yanci informed him that Mu Wan would be buried the next day, and he had to come back. By then, Mu Wan’s body had been prepared by the mortician, looking peaceful and beautiful just like in life.
While no one was paying attention, Kuang Ye gently touched her face and whispered in his heart, “Wan wan, wait for me. I’ll come to find you soon.”
After the funeral, Mu Yanci thought about the money Kuang Ye had given him, and since there was still quite a bit left unused, he considered returning it. But after searching around, he couldn’t find him anywhere.
After seeing Mu Wan laid to rest, Kuang Ye turned and headed for the airport, preparing to catch a flight to the global competition the next day. But as he passed by a man, he suddenly froze. It was a face he would never mistake in his life.
He threw the things in his hands aside and rushed forward, but the man had noticed something was wrong and quickly ran away. They chased each other, ending up in an abandoned tunnel.
The Kidnapper: “Why are you chasing me? Do you want the bounty from the wanted poster? I can double it for you.”
Since the kidnapper couldn’t carry weapons on a plane, he had no arms on him.
“I don’t want the bounty. I want your life.”
Kuang Ye picked up a rock from the ground and rushed toward him. The two immediately started fighting. Normally, Kuang Ye wouldn’t be able to defeat the kidnapper, but he wasn’t afraid of death. No matter whether the kidnapper poked his eyes or smashed his head, Kuang Ye didn’t dodge or avoid. Even if it meant hurting himself, he didn’t care.
In the end, he tied up the kidnapper with an old rope he found on the ground.
The Kidnapper: “I get it now. You’re not after the bounty; you’re avenging that woman, right?”
“Didn’t expect you to be so loyal, more than her fiancé.”
Kuang Ye froze for a moment, then looked at the kidnapper coldly. “What do you mean?”
The Kidnapper didn’t answer but instead laughed maliciously.
“Do you know how Mu Wan died? I cut off her hands first, didn’t let her get treated, then I sprinkled salt on them. The screams she made were so exciting. This is all retribution. The Mu family owes me—”
“Ahhh!” His malicious laughter was replaced by agonizing screams.
Kuang Ye grabbed a nearby stone and smashed the kidnapper’s hands. His expression was as cold as ice, his black eyes showing no emotion, though only he knew what kind of storm raged inside.
“I don’t know if the Mu family owes you, but you definitely owe me. You owe me the life of my beloved.”
He raised the stone again and struck down. Boom, boom, boom!
He even searched around and found a rusty knife. One by one, he chopped off the kidnapper’s fingers. Blood splattered on his pale, gloomy face. His movements were mechanical, neither scared nor satisfied from avenging his love.
Late that night, he returned to his rental. He turned on the radio and sat vacantly on the floor. He didn’t know how much time passed until the news came on, announcing that the police had found the body. Only then did he shakily get up and head toward the bathroom.
“Wan wan, I didn’t win the championship. I’m too dirty, I’ll tarnish the national flag. But—”
“Wan wan, I avenged you…”
The utility knife slashed his wrist, and the bathroom was stained in bright red. In his fading moments, he seemed to see two ghostly figures by his side—one was Wan wan, and the other was himself.
He smiled.
They really do look perfect together!
