This morning, Su Yaya wore a long dress that reached her toes, along with shoes, making it believable that her knee was injured and it was inconvenient for her to move around. She wasn’t afraid of fabricating the story.
Even if people suspected she was lying, no one would dare to challenge her. After all, she had President Shen’s support. He had specifically told her to take care of herself. If she revealed the truth, wouldn’t they be offending the big boss? Did they not want to work here anymore?
Zhou Peiyun quickly reacted, smiling to defuse the tension. “That’s right. Director Zhou, Producer Yu, why don’t we have Yaya act out a different scene? It’s really not suitable for her to kneel and beg today.”
When Yu Hui was mentioned, he, being sharper and more adaptable than Zhou Tongguang, quickly grasped the situation. He knew how to navigate the room and smiled, suggesting, “Since Xiao Su’s knee is injured, how about we switch to the scene where Concubine Shu discovers that one of her maids is poisoning her?”
Zhou Tongguang immediately glanced at Yu Hui. He smiled and said, “Zhou, is this scene difficult to act?”
Zhou Tongguang stared at his smile and sighed. “Fine, let her do this scene.”
Yu Hui then turned to Su Yaya. “Xiao Su, you’re okay with this scene, right?”
Su Yaya flashed a sweet smile and replied, “No problem. I’m ready to start right now.”
“Great. Let’s begin.” Yu Hui said.
Su Yaya handed her bag to her assistant, Xiao Yu, then looked around and spotted a lounge chair nearby. She walked over, dragged it to the center of the space, and slowly sat down.
The beauty was languid and seductive, her right hand resting on her chin as she leaned back in the chair, her eyes half-closed as if she were taking a brief nap. A young maid approached, holding a medicinal bowl with a white base and red flowers. She spoke softly, “Your Majesty, it’s time to take your medicine.”
At the sound of her voice, the beautiful woman opened her eyes, glancing at the maid before taking the bowl from her. She was about to drink when a strange smell caught her attention. Furrowing her brows, she looked at the maid in confusion. “Are you new? Where’s Chun Lan?”
The palace maid replied, “This maid is from the kitchen. Sister Chun Lan has a stomach ache, so she asked me to bring the medicine.”
The beautiful woman’s gaze turned sharp, as if she could pierce through the maid with her eyes. If looks could kill, the maid would have been riddled with arrows.
In an instant, the woman slapped the maid, sending her sprawling to the floor. Standing up, she brought the bowl of medicine to her mouth, her eyes cold and murderous as she spoke, “I’ll reward you with this bowl of medicine.”
With the chill of a cold breeze from hell, the beautiful woman ruthlessly pinched the maid’s chin, forcing her to open her mouth. She poured the medicine down her throat without a hint of emotion, her eyes as indifferent as death itself.
After forcing the maid to drink the entire bowl, the maid began coughing uncontrollably, fighting the urge to throw up. The woman stared at her, her gaze devoid of any warmth, as though she were looking at a lifeless body.
“Drag her out. Don’t dirty my floor!” The woman spat as she threw the bowl to the ground, its shattered pieces scattering across the floor. Servants rushed in and dragged the maid out, lifeless, like a discarded animal.
…
Clap, clap, clap.
When Su Yaya finished her performance, Yu Hui was the first to applaud, his hands ringing with genuine admiration. He had been taken aback by Su Yaya’s performance. He hadn’t expected her to embody the character so well, especially the cold, ruthless expression she had while forcing the medicine down the maid’s throat. It had been so chilling that it sent a shiver down his spine. He couldn’t help but applaud from the bottom of his heart, truly impressed by her acting.
“Xiao Su, you did a great job.”
Su Yaya smiled and replied, “Thank you, Producer Yu.”
“Keep up the good work in the future,” Yu Hui encouraged.
“I will,” Su Yaya nodded, her demeanor well-behaved and giving off a favorable impression at first glance.
Yu Hui nudged Zhou Tongguang, signaling him to give his feedback.
At this moment, Zhou Tongguang felt uncomfortable. He had originally wanted to embarrass her to vent his frustration. From his perspective, Su Yaya was just an online celebrity, so it was unlikely she had any real acting skills. Even though she had done well in Pamper After Marriage, it hadn’t been enough. Who would have thought her acting skills were actually quite impressive? It completely caught him off guard. He felt like he’d been slapped in the face. It hurt… a lot.
“…You’re pretty good,” Zhou Tongguang said awkwardly. “I hope you can keep this up in the future.”
Su Yaya responded with a respectful tone, “I understand. Thank you, Director Zhou.”
Seeing her proper attitude, Zhou Tongguang’s anger subsided, and he appeared to soften. It seemed he was finally beginning to approve of her.
Yu Hui quickly assessed the situation and said to Su Yaya, “Let’s go ahead and change for the makeup photo. We can’t waste time.”
“Okay,” Su Yaya replied with a bright smile and hurried to the makeup room to change and apply her makeup.
Once she was done, Su Yaya turned to Zhou Peiyun and asked, “How come I haven’t seen the other actors?”
Zhou Peiyun, who had just finished a phone call, put her phone away and replied, “They seem to be busy with their own things. They’ll be here soon.”
“They’re all so busy!” Su Yaya sighed.
“Indeed, they’re much busier than you.” Zhou Peiyun responded, glancing at a group of people walking in. She nodded toward them and said. “See, they’re here now.”
