Transmigrating into the male protagonist’s ex-wife Chapter 25.2

Chapter 25: Baby, Ten Billion (Part 2)

Because the plot had already been written.

Just as the story foretold, Tang Xin’s ultimate fate was death.

If she stayed, whether by accident or misfortune, she would inevitably die.

She was just an ordinary person, deeply valuing her life, and she only wanted to live well. Since she couldn’t live long in this world, she longed to return to her own.

Even though she was also an orphan without parents in that world, she had managed to buy a small home and an electric scooter with her own hard work. Her simple and happy life there was infinitely better than losing her life in this world.

“Who decided this?” Yue Yuze lowered his gaze to look at her, answering his own question, “It was agreed from the start that I have the final say on the contract. If I don’t want the divorce, it won’t happen. Understand?”

Tang Xin looked up at him, chuckling softly as she reached out and lightly poked her own cheek. “Me. I decided it.” She had written it, so of course, she had set the terms.

“You decided?” Yue Yuze sneered coldly, his long fingers lightly brushing against her delicate chin, his tone laced with mockery as a smirk tugged at his lips. “Then go ahead and try.”

She stared at him, smiling sweetly and obediently, without saying a word.

Not long after, she reached out and grabbed the hand he had just released from her chin.

He didn’t resist, letting her do as she pleased.

She then brought his hand in front of her, planted a kiss on the back of it, and looked up at him as she murmured softly, “Fool.” She was the one who created this world.

Even if her unexpected “intrusion” caused some disruptions, like… kissing the male lead and even sleeping with him…

The major plotline wouldn’t change.

For example, Tang Xin and Yue Yuze were destined to divorce. The reasons for the divorce might shift, but the outcome—divorce—was inevitable, just as Tang Xin’s death within a year of the divorce was fixed.

But she wouldn’t tell him that.

She wasn’t drunk…

As these thoughts ran through her mind, she nestled into his embrace, wrapping her arms around him. She let out a lazy yawn, settled comfortably, and buried her face in his chest, falling asleep.

Yue Yuze let her do as she wished, merely looking down at her coldly, watching her…

His heart felt heavy.

Their contractual marriage was set for a year. Initially, he was certain he wouldn’t hesitate when the time came to end it. In fact, he had once wished for the marriage to end sooner, because this woman had dared to covet him.

But now… just the thought of her leaving after a year, no longer bothering him, no longer stealing silly glances at him, no longer trying to seduce him, no longer having any connection with him… perhaps even finding that “handsome and doting” boyfriend she spoke of…

Just imagining it—only imagining it—made a rage he couldn’t describe explode in his chest. He wanted to crush that imaginary “boyfriend” to pieces.

His gaze darkened, and he instinctively tightened his hold on her until she stirred, grumbled in dissatisfaction, and pushed at him. Only then did he snap out of it. Realizing his emotion resembled jealousy, he hurriedly loosened his grip. Feeling it wasn’t enough, he shifted her to one side of the seat and moved to the furthest corner of the car.

…Even with this distance, she was still within his sight.

And yet, he couldn’t stop himself from glancing at her.

If there comes a day when you realize a woman is foolish, clumsy, gluttonous, and greedy, yet you find her unbearably endearing—so endearing that you can’t help but steal another glance, and then another, until you realize no matter how many times you look, it’s never enough…

What does that mean for you?

“What’s wrong with me?” he muttered to himself, raising a hand to his chest, feeling his heart race uncontrollably.

When they returned to the villa, the driver parked the car and quickly got out to open the door. “Young Master, Young Madam…”

The driver intended to help, but Yue Yuze refused.

Carrying her himself, he took her directly into the villa.

…After some thought, he ultimately decided to take her to her own room.

Her low alcohol tolerance meant she got drunk easily but didn’t experience nausea. Aside from her wild behavior—teasing him and boldly touching him—she was otherwise well-behaved.

He removed her shoes and placed her in the middle of the bed. Just as he was about to leave, she turned over and wrapped herself tightly around his leg.

Yue Yuze: “…”

With a soft sigh, he reached down to pry her hand off. As soon as he did, she rolled over and clung to him entirely—arms and legs entwined!

Yue Yuze looked down at her pale, slender legs wrapped around his waist, caught between frustration and helplessness. Pulling at his collar in irritation, he shed his jacket and lay down beside her.

He thought that once she fell into a deep sleep, he could slip away unnoticed.

But after three or four minutes, her small head nudged against his chest as she slowly woke up.

Yue Yuze looked at her in silence.

In the next moment, she leaned in closer, her soft lips pressing against the corner of his mouth…

She casually kissed him again, hugged him, and then… got off the bed. As she walked toward the bathroom, she began to remove her dress.

Yue Yuze: “…” I really underestimated her!

The bathroom door opened and closed behind her.

Yue Yuze felt that this was the perfect moment to leave her room, but…

He stared at the tightly shut bathroom door, his brows furrowing slightly.

This little drunkard probably hadn’t sobered up yet.

If she went to bathe… what if she accidentally drowned in the tub?

Imagining such a foolish scenario, Yue Yuze couldn’t laugh. Instead, his expression grew even colder.

He genuinely believed that this was the kind of stupid thing this woman was perfectly capable of doing.

Thinking of this, he couldn’t sit still anymore. He stood up and walked toward the bathroom, his hand reaching for the doorknob—only to freeze in place.

If he opened this door, would things between them… still be innocent?

Although he had tricked her before when she was drunk, claiming something had happened between them, it was a lie. He had only wanted to tease her and had never done anything improper.

For over twenty years, Yue Yuze didn’t see himself as a good person, but he considered himself principled. To him, intimacy between a man and a woman was sacred—either with his own hand or with someone he truly loved.

If he touched Tang Xin… he wouldn’t be able to avoid taking responsibility.

So, should he go in or not? That was the question.

In the end, Yue Yuze leaned his head against the bathroom door. Hearing the faint sound of running water, he felt slightly relieved. He decided to wait. If she didn’t come out in half an hour… then he would go in.

After all, even if she really did slip and fall, she wasn’t drunk enough to die. She would definitely struggle.

But he… was still worried about how foolish this woman could be.

Yue Yuze sat in her room, glancing at the time occasionally.

Finally, over twenty minutes later, just as he was starting to grow restless and was about to knock on the door, Tang Xin emerged.

She was wearing a white bathrobe and indoor slippers. Her long, slender legs caught Yue Yuze’s eye, momentarily dazzling him. Her slightly damp hair, especially her bangs, suggested she hadn’t washed her hair. As she walked over, she leaned into his chest and stretched out her arms to hug him.

Yue Yuze froze for a moment, raising his hand slightly but ultimately not pushing her away. “What’s wrong?” he asked in a low, raspy voice.

“Yue Yuze.”

“Hmm?” He responded softly, a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips.

At least she wasn’t so drunk that she couldn’t recognize him.

“I’m sleepy,” she said softly, her voice sticky and sweet.

Yue Yuze couldn’t help but chuckle. “If you’re sleepy, then sleep.”

“Oh.” She replied, then looked up at him, her moist, innocent eyes resembling those of an adorable kitten, both pure and somehow filled with longing.

Yue Yuze sighed lightly, wrapped an arm around her waist, and lifted her up. He carried her to the bed and gently laid her down. “Go to sleep.”

He was about to leave when she called out, “Yue Yuze.”

He turned back to look at her. Her wide-open eyes showed no trace of sleepiness, only confusion.

He sighed, sat back down, and gazed at her silently.

She smiled at him, shifted to one side, and patted the space beside her. “You should lie down too.”

Yue Yuze: “…” Invited by his wife to share the bed…

Should he? Or shouldn’t he?

He hesitated, torn, but when his eyes met hers, he suddenly didn’t feel like leaving.

“Alright.” He gave in, removed his shoes, and lay down beside her, still fully clothed.

He figured she’d fall asleep soon enough.

From past experience, she wouldn’t even remember her drunken antics when she woke up.

Well, it wasn’t that serious anyway…

No sooner had he laid down than she snuggled up to him. Instead of using a pillow, she pulled his arm over and rested her small head on his muscular arm.

Yue Yuze couldn’t help but chuckle. “You really know how to enjoy yourself…”

And then his lips warmed.

She kissed him.

Just like before, she did it so naturally, as if he truly belonged to her.

But just as he began to savor the faint taste of her, she pulled back again—like a teasing little enchantress.

Yue Yuze turned to look at her, his deep, dark eyes showing a hint of restraint.

He… he was a man of principles…

He wouldn’t abandon his values over a mere kiss!

Of course, if she truly, truly wanted to… then he’d see how things unfolded…

But she didn’t.

Yue Yuze waited, waited… and found himself growing impatient.

But instead of another kiss, all she did was reach out her hand. Her fingertips lightly traced his handsome face, as if she were studying a piece of art, carefully outlining his features.

Her fingers were cooler than his, lacking the distinct warmth of his touch. The coolness was tantalizing, stirring a heat within him that made it hard to bear…

In the end, he reached out and grabbed her mischievous little hand that wouldn’t stop teasing him. His tall body rose slightly, and with a swift motion, he flipped her petite figure beneath him. The two locked eyes. Her gaze was clear, and he realized—she didn’t think of him in that way.
