Chapter 8: Kindness is Taken for Granted
“Brother Zhan, I heard…”
Lu Qingzhou walked in and happened to see the two of them being intimate. His voice stopped abruptly.
Gu Jingzhan stopped moving, turned around and gave him a cold look.
Lu Qingzhou was stunned for a moment, then turned around and walked out as if nothing had happened, closing the door.
“Huh~”
Lu Qingzhou let out a long sigh, then leaned against the door, his hands clasped in front of his chest, frowning in confusion.
What’s going on between these two? Didn’t they say they had made up their minds to divorce this morning? Why are they kissing again now?
Gu Jingzhan’s hand gently stroked Xiang Wanqiao’s face, looking at her with deep eyes, his voice hoarse: “Qiaoqiao, I gave you a chance to leave.”
I won’t leave. I will never leave you again in this life.” Xiang Wanqiao held his face with both hands, smiled lightly, and said, “Gu Jingzhan, this time I am willing to stay by your side.”
Gu Jingzhan bent down and pressed his forehead against hers, his heart beating wildly, as if it was about to jump out of his chest.
Qiaoqiao, I hope you are not lying to me this time. Otherwise, I will really go crazy.
Xiang Wanqiao stared at the man in front of her, and her floating heart finally landed steadily. If she hadn’t experienced the last life, she would never know how much this man loved her, loved her to the bone, loved her without bottom line, and loved her to the point of completely losing his mind.
But she couldn’t figure out what caused his deep love.
Lu Qingzhou stood bored at the door of the ward, waiting for Gu Jingzhan to come out. After a while, Gu Jingzhan came out of Xiang Wanqiao’s ward.
“What? You don’t plan to divorce Xiang Wanqiao again?”
Gu Jingzhan squinted his eyes and glanced at him coldly. Not only did he not answer his question, but he warned him, “Remember to knock on the door next time you come in.”
I knocked, but you were too absorbed in kissing and didn’t hear it.” Lu Qingzhou stood up and followed Gu Jingzhan’s footsteps.
Hey, you haven’t answered my question yet! You weren’t blinded by the beauty trap set by Xiang Wanqiao again, were you?”
Gu Jingzhan adjusted his cuffs as he walked, ignoring Lu Qingzhou’s words.
Anyone with a discerning eye can see what kind of heart she has. How could you be deceived by her again and again? This is a trap set for you by her and that adulterer. Don’t forget the recording I played to you last night.”
Lu Qingzhou was afraid that Gu Jingzhan would suffer, so he advised earnestly. “Xiang Wanqiao is a scheming woman who will do anything to achieve her goals. Brother Zhan, you must not be fooled again!”
Gu Jingzhan stopped, turned his head, and stared at him. He said coldly, When you have time, worry more about your personal problems, and don’t always stare at whether I’m divorced or not.”
I’m just worried that you’ve been deceived by that woman Xiang Wanqiao. You’re really taking my kindness for granted!”
“You don’t need to worry. I know what’s going on.”
You don’t know shit!” Lu Qingzhou pointed at him with a look of disappointment and said angrily, “I think you’ve been bewitched by Xiang Wanqiao and can’t tell the difference between good and bad!”
Gu Jingzhan chuckled and said disapprovingly, “You didn’t know it on the first day.”
Lu Qingzhou laughed angrily. “Well, you, a guy who values women over friends, you will die at the hands of that woman Xiang Wanqiao sooner or later.”
“Then I’m willing to do that.”
Lu Qingzhou was really angry with him and almost couldn’t breathe. He pointed his finger at Gu Jingzhan and uttered a word after a long pause, “You are really hopeless!”
Gu Jingzhan pulled the corner of his lips slightly and left the hospital.
Lu Qingzhou snorted coldly and walked in the opposite direction of Gu Jingzhan.
In the ward, Xiang Wanqiao touched her lips that were swollen from Gu Jingzhan’s kiss and couldn’t help showing a shy smile on her face. Just as she was immersed in the sweetness of the kiss just now, an untimely mobile phone ring interrupted her thoughts.
Xiang Wanqiao frowned slightly and glanced at the screen of the mobile phone. It was a call from Lu Siwei.
She curled her lips coldly and took the phone to answer the call.
Qiaoqiao, I’m sorry, because I got a temporary job and had to go on a business trip for a few days, so I couldn’t see you. How are you now?”
Lu Siwei was full of apologies as soon as she opened her mouth. If it were according to her previous temper, she would really believe what Lu Siwei said.
Xiang Wanqiao listened to her words and couldn’t help rolling her eyes.
“It’s okay, I’m fine now.”
I’m glad you’re okay.” Lu Siwei said with false concern. “You don’t know how worried I am about you.”
“Really?”
Of course! I thought you were just pretending, but I didn’t expect you to be serious.”
Unexpected? You are probably hoping that I will die like this.
Xiang Wanqiao looked indifferent, and her voice unconsciously became a little colder. “Anyway, I still have to thank you. If you hadn’t helped me come up with the method of suicide to force Gu Jingzhan, he wouldn’t have agreed to divorce me so easily.”
Did Gu Jingzhan really agree to divorce?” Lu Siwei pretended to be happy.
Yes, the divorce agreement has been sent over. Could it be fake?”
Hearing this, Lu Siwei tested a little nervously, “Did you sign it?”
“Signed.” Xiang Wanqiao said deliberately.
What! You signed it?” Lu Siwei was even more anxious now, and she exploded in panic. “Didn’t you promise Xiao Xuan’an not to divorce Gu Jingzhan for the time being?”
Xiang Wanqiao curled her lips and asked her lightly, “Weiwei, how do you know that I promised Xiao Xuan’an not to divorce Gu Jingzhan for the time being?”
“I…” Lu Siwei paused and replied vaguely, “I… I heard it.”
“Heard it?”
Qiaoqiao, don’t you believe me? I’m your best friend, how can you not believe me?”
Lu Siwei knew that Xiang Wanqiao was afraid of not having her as a friend, so she deliberately used the trust issue to evade the main point and try to control her.
Xiang Wanqiao smiled and replied in a neutral tone, “No, how could I not believe you.”
Lu Siwei was slightly relieved when she heard her answer. “I knew that we were best friends.”
“Yes, best friends.”
A trace of coldness flashed across Xiang Wanqiao’s eyes, and the last sentence was meaningful.
Lu Siwei smiled and said, “Qiaoqiao, don’t rush to agree to the divorce. Take a good rest first. I’ll come back to see you after I finish my work, and then we’ll discuss it in detail.”
“Okay.”
After hanging up the phone, the smile on Xiang Wanqiao’s face disappeared instantly.
Humph, best friends.
Sometimes the ones who hurt you the most are often the ones you think are your good friends.
She leaned against the headboard, tapping the screen of her mobile phone with her fingertips, as if waiting for someone’s call.
