Time-Traveling to the Seventies : My Troublemaker Husband is Full of Secrets Chapter 11

Chapter 11 : Past and Present Life

Zhang Qianyun and Han Meili looked at her in disbelief. They didn’t expect this woman to be so bold as to dare eat the egg custard meant for the elders.

Han Zhenyu was also momentarily surprised, but he didn’t show it on his face.

He pressed down the corners of his lips, sat down next to Su Xieqiu as if nothing had happened, picked up a bowl of corn porridge, and started eating.

Yang Lanhua was nearly furious. There were only four chickens in the family, and they only laid two or three eggs a day.

Half of those eggs were saved for her younger son, who was in high school, to supplement his nutrition.

The rest was used to nourish the men in the family.

She herself was reluctant to eat any, but she didn’t expect this woman, who didn’t do any work at all, to dare take food from her elders. It was really outrageous.

And that little bastard, his bowl of porridge was the thickest, just served by the second son’s wife.

Yang Lanhua wanted to take back the bowl of egg custard, but when she saw that Su Xieqiu had almost finished it, she glared and was about to curse.

Su Xieqiu put the empty bowl on the table and suddenly gave her a strange smile.

Yang Lanhua felt a chill down her back and swallowed the words that were about to come out of her mouth.

Su Xieqiu then withdrew her gaze, scooped another bowl of corn porridge, and began eating, taking a mouthful of vegetables and a mouthful of porridge.

Since the couple sat down, they hadn’t put down their chopsticks.

Han Zhenyu ate two large bowls of rice porridge in a short while, and the vegetables in his bowl were almost gone.

When he was about to scoop a third bowl, Yang Lanhua took the spoon first.

She poured the remaining corn porridge into the bowls of Han Baoguo and Han Zhenhua, and gave the last portion to her daughter, Han Meili.

Han Zhenyu was already used to it and was about to put down his bowl and leave.

He saw Su Xieqiu bring the bowl of vegetables over, and then pour all the vegetables into his bowl, muttering to herself.

“What a cruel stepmother! She doesn’t even give you food to eat. Just leftovers for you. It’s my own mother-in-law’s fault that she died early. Children without mothers are pitiful.”

After saying that, she sighed again and muttered softly, “It’s said that if there’s a stepmother, there’s a stepfather. This old saying is really true. You’re a child without a father or a mother…”

Han Zhenyu looked at her, holding back a smile, not knowing what to do with the bowl of food in his hand.

He preferred light food, and today’s dishes were a bit salty. If he ate this bowl of food, he’d have to drink a lot of water afterward.

After hearing what Su Xieqiu said, the Han family’s faces turned dark. Yang Lanhua slapped her thigh, ready to throw a tantrum and cry.

Han Zhenyu didn’t want to listen to her rant, so he took the opportunity to pour the bowl of food into the basin, put down his chopsticks, and stood up.

Seeing that Su Xieqiu had almost finished eating, he pulled her out of the main room.

Su Xieqiu felt very uncomfortable when Han Zhenyu grabbed her arm, and was about to pull it out without making a sound.

Unexpectedly, Han Zhenyu let her go as soon as they stepped into the yard and casually asked, “Is the injury on your head serious? Do you need to go to the county hospital?”

Su Xieqiu subconsciously touched her head, glanced at the people in the main room, and whispered, “No, it shouldn’t be a big deal. Just rest for a few days. If you have something to do, go ahead.”

She wanted to figure out what was going on with the golden finger, so she wanted to get Han Zhenyu out of the house quickly.

Han Zhenyu nodded. “Then you can go back to the house and rest. The captain asked me to go with Han Lei to the mountain to cut trees. I’ll go over and take a look.”

Su Xieqiu watched him walk out the door before turning back into the room and locking it from the inside.

She only started to study the golden finger after the Han family members went out to work.

To be precise, it should be the house that she crossed over with.

Su Xieqiu silently said “go in,” and then walked from the dim adobe house to the bright apartment.

Looking at the warmly decorated new house, she smiled happily.

This was not a dream, the house really followed her.

Everything in the room was just as it had been before she traveled through time. On the coffee table stood a large bunch of gorgeous pink tulips, which she had bought the day before she crossed over.

Ordinarily, this bouquet should have wilted a little, but now it looked as fresh as if it had just been put in, with no changes at all.

She went to the kitchen again. The storage shelves were piled with various ingredients, and the double-door refrigerator was stocked with meat and fruit.

Although she had just eaten, she still subconsciously swallowed when she saw so many delicious foods. It must be because her body was too lacking in oil and water.

Su Xieqiu picked up a large sausage from the shopping shelf, opened the package, and took a bite.

The ham sausage had a very good taste, with plenty of meat particles inside and was very chewy.

Su Xieqiu ate one bite after another, and before she knew it, the big sausage was gone.

She then took a few strawberries from the refrigerator and prepared to rinse them under the tap, but there was no water.

She went to turn on the light again, but it didn’t come on.

Su Xieqiu then realized that the room was very quiet, and she tried to open the doors and windows.

The door and windows were immovable, and looking out the window, all Su Xieqiu could see was a gray haze.

She suddenly remembered her cell phone and computer and hurried to the bedroom.

There was a mobile phone on the bedside table, but the screen was black, and she couldn’t open it.

She went to the study again. There was a decorative clock hanging next to the desk. She had heard the ticking sound before going to bed, but now the time was frozen at 2:42.

That should have been the moment she traveled through time.

Su Xieqiu walked around the room and finally figured it out. There was no water or electricity, so time should be frozen, like a storage space in a novel.

She felt a bit regretful. If she had known that she would travel back to the 1970s when supplies were scarce, she would have definitely stocked up on more food and daily necessities.

Then, she thought thankfully, it was fortunate she traveled back at this moment.

If it had been a few days earlier, there might have been only a few packets of instant noodles at home, and even the sausages had been bought just before her time travel.

Thinking of the sausage, Su Xieqiu glanced at the storage shelf unintentionally, and her eyes widened immediately.

She had only bought four sausages with meat cubes, eating one, so how come there were still four there?

Su Xieqiu paused for a moment, took a sausage from the storage shelf to examine it, and at that moment, a rush of information suddenly appeared in her mind.

The general idea was that Su Xieqiu had been reincarnated into the Su family in Haicheng during the 1950s in her previous life.

Because a ghost from the underworld had confused her with a different Su Xieqiu from another time and space, she had been given the wrong time and space cards, which changed both of their fates.

Two days ago, Su Xieqiu in this body had actually died. When she arrived in the underworld, she discovered her fate had been mishandled by the ghost.

So she had taken all the anger she had endured over the years out on the ghost catcher and became furious in the underworld.

When she learned that Su Xieqiu in the 21st century lived in a luxurious house and had a decent job, she demanded to change it back.

This caused a huge stir in the underworld. In the end, the King of Hell intervened to punish the ghost messenger and allowed the two Su Xieqiu’s to return to their original destined paths.

To make up for the mistakes made in the underworld, the King of Hell gave each of them a golden finger.

Su Xieqiu’s golden finger was the house she had worked hard for over several years.

She could use all the food and daily necessities in it at will, or give them away, and the supplies would be replenished within 30 days.

However, the contents could not be sold. If she sold any item, it would disappear forever and never be replenished.
