Chapter 42 : When I go crazy, even I am afraid of myself
Su Xieqiu looked back at the Youth League Institute and snorted coldly.
Originally, she had no intention of dwelling on past events, but Sun Yuexian had insisted on provoking her.
Just now, she had seen Miao Lili and Cao Min watching with gloating eyes.
If Sun Yuexian was a green tea bitch and a white lotus, then these two women were definitely scheming villains.
The original owner married Han Zhenyu, and these two women played an indispensable role in it.
It would be fine if they stayed away from her in the future, but if they dared to provoke her again, she would definitely repay them tenfold. She was not someone who could be bullied easily.
Su Xieqiu first went to Aunt Qiuye’s house in the village.
Aunt Qiuye was the first person to show kindness to her after she came to the Sanhua Brigade. Although she was a bit gossipy, she had a good heart.
“Is Aunt Qiuye home?”
“Yes, who is it?” A cheerful voice came from the yard.
Su Xieqiu smiled and said, “Aunt, it’s me.”
“Hey, Zhenyu’s wife, aren’t you building a house? How come you have time to come over?” Aunt Qiuye was very enthusiastic and took her arm, leading her into the yard.
Su Xieqiu was tightly held by her large hand and could only smile and follow her into the house.
Aunt Qiuye asked her to sit down, poured her a glass of boiled water, and then asked with a smile, “Then, what brings you here today?”
“Aunt, here’s the thing. My grandpa and uncle are helping to build a house here, but I don’t have enough vegetables at home. Zhenyu said we should go to the city to buy some, but I thought, since you grow so many vegetables at home, why should we go far? Wouldn’t it be better for you to earn some money by selling them?”
Su Xieqiu held her hand and said sincerely, “When I first came to the countryside, you helped me a lot. I will always remember that.”
“Zhenyu’s wife, it’s just some vegetables. They’re not worth much in our countryside. You can just pick them from the fields. Don’t even worry about whether they cost money or not. We’re all from the same village. If you charge me for a few vegetables, I wouldn’t be able to face people.”
Aunt Qiuye refused to accept any money, no matter what, and the two of them insisted for a long time.
Su Xieqiu said helplessly, “Aunt, I appreciate your kindness, but building a house for my family is not a matter of two or three days, and we need a lot of vegetables. I can’t take advantage of your family like this. If you don’t charge me, I will feel embarrassed to order them, and I will have to buy them from somewhere else.”
Aunt Qiuye smiled and sighed, “You’re too polite. I really don’t know what to say.”
“Aunt, it’s not easy for you to grow these vegetables, so you should be paid.”
“Okay, okay, okay. I’ll pick them for you.”
Su Xieqiu quickly pulled her aside and said, “Aunt, you don’t need to worry about food today. My grandpa and uncle brought some vegetables with them. I’ll come back to pick them up after we eat.”
“Okay, I’ll keep them for you. Come by anytime.”
Su Xieqiu nodded with a smile and then said, “Aunt, you know the situation with our family. The private plot is still in the old Han family’s name and hasn’t been divided yet. After we build the house, it’ll be too late to plant vegetables. I was wondering if you could plant more cabbage and radishes, and sell some to me for making pickled cabbage.”
Aunt Qiuye cheerfully replied, “What’s the value? I’ll plant a few more rows and bring two truckloads over to you when the time comes.”
“Thank you, Aunt.”
When Su Xieqiu came out of Aunt Qiuye’s house, she happened to run into Yang Lanhua and her son Han Zhenmin.
She rolled her eyes and was about to walk past them when she heard Yang Lanhua bluntly ask, “I heard you’re going to build a house, and a brick one at that. Where are you going to get the money?”
Su Xieqiu narrowed her eyes at her and bluntly replied, “Are we building a house? What kind of house? Whether we have enough money or not, it’s none of your business. You ask so many questions, are you feeling guilty and planning to give us some of your property?”
Yang Lanhua slapped her thigh as if her tail had been stepped on and yelled, “The Han family has been poor peasants for eight generations, what kind of property do we have? You extorted just a few dozen yuan and even stole the cornmeal from our house! Now you’re asking me for my property again. You’re so greedy. The Han family is unlucky to have a daughter-in-law like you.”
Seeing that no one was around, Su Xieqiu laughed and shot back, “You vicious old woman, seeing my grandpa and uncle helping us build a house, are you so jealous you can’t sleep at night? I’m telling you, if you leave that den of wolves in your house, good days are ahead for me and my man. You’re just jealous and it’s killing you.”
Seeing Yang Lanhua and Han Zhenmin’s faces turn pale, Su Xieqiu frowned as well. She warned them in a low voice, “Don’t mess with me and my man in the future. Otherwise, I’ll go to your son’s school to have a chat with the principal and your proud in-laws. Do you believe I can ruin your son’s marriage?”
“You dare?” Han Zhenmin was furious.
Su Xieqiu sneered, “I always keep my word. You can try and see if I dare or not.”
Before leaving, she looked at Han Zhenmin and said, “I advise you not to provoke a crazy person, because when she goes crazy, even she’s afraid of herself.”
The mother and son stared at her receding back, their expressions ugly.
Han Zhenmin said, “Mom, I think this woman is really a little abnormal. Don’t bother with them anymore. If she goes to school and makes trouble, my work will be even more difficult.”
Although Yang Lanhua was unwilling, she knew her son’s future was more important. “i knows she won’t cause trouble..”
Su Xieqiu thought it was good to have something to be afraid of, so that when they did something weird again, they would consider whether they could bear the consequences.
Han Zhenyu went to the factory in the morning to confirm the departure time for that night and then went to the supply and marketing cooperative. He was in such a hurry yesterday that he had forgotten to buy many things.
Today, he wrote down everything he needed on a piece of paper and was purchasing them one by one at the cooperative.
Fang Xiangyun noticed the long list and asked, “Zhenyu, why are you buying so much? Is something going on at home?”
“Sister Yun, I’ve split up and we’re building a house, so I need a lot of things,” Han Zhenyu explained with a smile.
A few years ago, when he was dealing in goods, he met Fang Xiangyun’s husband, Yuan Liyong, on the black market.
After doing business several times, they both found the other trustworthy, and they grew closer. Han Zhenyu would also visit Yuan Liyong’s home during the holidays.
Seeing that there weren’t many people in the cooperative, Fang Xiangyun took the piece of paper from his hand and looked it over.
Then she greeted her colleagues and took Han Zhenyu to the backyard of the supply and marketing cooperative.
The two of them went to the warehouse at the back, and Fang Xiangyun pointed at the items on the shelf, saying, “These are the defective ones we’ve selected. We haven’t had time to put them out yet. Do you think any of these can be used?”
Although Fang Xiangyun called them defective products, Han Zhenyu knew that these were welfare items kept by the cooperative.
He selected two items: a porcelain basin and a flashlight.
The flashlight was for grandpa and uncle to use at the foundation, and the porcelain basin was for Su Xieqiu, even though he had bought one the day before. But that woman was very particular and insisted on washing her face and feet separately.
