Chapter 80 : Su Xieqiu’s Father’s Plan
Han Zhenmin felt very embarrassed when he heard his girlfriend being told that she was old.
He knew that Li Peilian was not very good-looking and was not as pretty as the other girls in the class.
But Li Peilian’s family was well-off, and her father was a small leader in the factory. He had said that after they got married, he would get Han Zhenmin a job in the factory.
For Han Zhenmin, if he could go to the city to work as a worker, it didn’t matter if his wife was ugly.
This woman would still be the same when the lights were off.
He glared at Su Xieqiu fiercely and then pulled Li Peilian out of the restaurant.
Su Xieqiu glared back at him and continued eating the bun in her hand. She couldn’t finish the other one, so she asked the waitress for some straw paper to wrap it up and went to the nearby post office.
She had to send the letter she wrote last night back to Hai City as soon as possible, otherwise, those self-important family members would think she was soft-hearted.
But she didn’t know yet that the Su family in Hai City was also talking about her at this moment, and she would soon be in big trouble.

Su Family in Hai City
Today was Sunday, and Su Dajun came to his younger brother Su Dacheng’s house early in the morning.
Because of their daughter’s move to the countryside, Su Dajun and his wife had been working so hard these days that their legs were almost broken.
“Your sister-in-law and I originally wanted Xieyun to join the production team in the countryside near Hai City, but we couldn’t get it done despite using many connections. They said that the nearby villages could no longer accommodate them. This time, more than 200 educated youths from Hai City are being sent to support Ning Province in the northeast. I heard it’s still Pingnan County, where Xieqiu is.”
Su Dacheng frowned. “Brother, is it so strict to join the production team in the countryside now?”
Su Dajun lowered his voice and said, “Director Sun of the Youth Office was reported some time ago. The current leader is ruthless and has no mercy. No matter whose children they are, they are all treated equally. The son of Minister Qiu next door is on the list of people going to the Northeast this time.”
“Brother, Ning Province is very cold, with winter lasting half the year. I heard Pingnan County has many mountains, so it’s really not a good place. If I wasn’t worried about Xieqiu and Xiexia making a fuss, I wouldn’t have sent her so far away.”
Su Dacheng’s words sounded nice, but he really didn’t feel much sympathy for Su Xieqiu, who was cutting in line.
He had three daughters one was sent away, and he still had two at home.
Moreover, Su Xieqiu had never been liked since she was a child. She didn’t get along well with her siblings, so it seemed most appropriate for her to go to the countryside.
Su Dajun only had one daughter. It had been two years since she graduated from junior high, and she should have gone to the countryside to work last year.
But Su Dajun and his wife were reluctant to send their daughter, so they tried every means to find her a job. However, since there was only one vacancy for each position, they had been looking for two years and still hadn’t found one.
Su Dajun was a skilled worker at the factory but was unwilling to give up his job for his daughter.
Mrs. Su gave her job to her youngest son two years ago, and now there was no way to arrange a job for her daughter.
Since Su Xieyun had no job, she had to go to the countryside as an educated youth.
Su Dajun sighed and said, “I can’t think of any other solution now. Xieyun has been crying at home for several days since she found out she was going to work in the bitter cold Northeast.”
Thinking about his daughter having to go to such a faraway place to suffer, Su Dacheng felt heartbroken.
He looked at his brother, Su Dajun, and said, “I heard you say some time ago that Xieqiu got married in the countryside, so she is considered a local. Your sister-in-law and I were thinking of letting Xieyun go to their village as an educated youth. Then, we’ll ask her to help take care of us. Xieyun has never worked since she was a child, so she will definitely not be able to adapt to the situation there. With someone close to her there, she can discuss anything with Xieqiu.”
After hearing his elder brother’s request, Su Dacheng agreed without hesitation and said
“Don’t worry, big brother. I will write a letter to Xieqiu right now and ask her and her husband to take good care of Xieyun. Otherwise, I will not forgive them.”
When he said this, he completely forgot about Su Xieqiu’s words about severing ties, and didn’t realize that Su Xieqiu hadn’t taken his request seriously at all.
After hearing his brother’s words, Su Dajun finally felt relieved. “Second brother, thank you.”
Su Dacheng said nonchalantly, “Brother, we are family, why should we be polite? Xieqiu must be lonely there alone, and when Xieyun goes there, I wonder how close the two sisters will be.”
Thinking of the son-in-law he had never met, Su Dacheng acted like a father-in-law and said, “I will write a letter to Xieqiu’s husband and ask him to do a few more work points every day and put them on Xieyun’s behalf.”
“Second brother, you’re helping your niece this way. As her father, I don’t know what to say,” Su Dajun said gratefully.
Su Dacheng waved his hand proudly, “Brother, it’s nothing special. I watched Xieyun grow up too. Although she is a year older than Xieqiu, she was spoiled and never worked since she was a child. I know all of that. The letter will also instruct Xieqiu and her husband to take good care of their cousin.”
To reassure Su Dajun, Su Dacheng went to the inner room to get some letter paper and a pen, preparing to write a letter with instructions for his daughter and son-in-law in the Northeast, right in front of his older brother.
Chen Xiufang, who had been silent until then, followed him into the inner room while carrying her grandson. After closing the door, she complained in a low voice.
“Dacheng, the last time that damn girl Xieqiu wrote to us, she said she wanted to sever ties with our family. Now you’re asking her to take care of Su Xieyun. Isn’t that just adding fuel to the fire? If she really doesn’t recognize us in the future, then we’ve raised that girl for nothing.”
After Chen Xiufang and Su Dacheng got married, they had a bad relationship with their sisters-in-law and often secretly competed with each other.
Chen Xiufang certainly wasn’t willing to ask her own daughter to help the other daughter now.
Even though she didn’t like the girl, she couldn’t bring herself to help someone she hated.
Su Dacheng glared at his wife after hearing her words. “I worked so hard to raise her. If that damn girl dares to disown me, I’ll break her legs.”
Chen Xiufang rolled her eyes at him and said, “She’s married in the Northeast, what can you do to her? Can you go to that mountain valley and beat her up?”
Chen Xiufang originally wanted to write a letter to that girl after some time, saying a few soft words to ease the relationship between the two sides.
In the future, she could also ask her to send some specialties from Northeast China.
She had heard from others that although the Northeast was not a good place, it had a lot of dried goods and specialties, and there were many wild animals in the mountains there.
She shared her idea with her husband. Su Dacheng thought for a moment and said, “That girl has never had her own opinion and never holds grudges. It’ll be fine after a while when she calms down. When the time comes, you can find a piece of defective cloth from the factory and send it to her, then say a few caring words to comfort her. The girl will definitely forget what happened before.”
It was no wonder that her family looked down on Su Xieqiu, because she had always been a person who only cared about food and not about punishment since she was a child.
No matter how badly others mistreated her, she would forget it if you gave her some benefits and coaxed her into submission.
Chen Xiufang smiled and said, “I didn’t expect that you, as a father, know your daughter so well.”
But thinking about her sister-in-law’s spoiled daughter, she said unhappily, “Xieyun can’t do anything. When she gets to the Northeast, will she really let our son-in-law support her?”
Su Dacheng said impatiently, “Why are you so long-winded, woman? I’ve already promised my brother, how can I go back on my word?
Besides, how much can a girl like Xieyun eat? She isn’t doing nothing, Do you really need to make such a fuss over something so small?”
Seeing that her husband was angry, Chen Xiufang didn’t say anything else.
But inwardly, she curled her lips in disdain.
She was also going to write a letter to her daughter, asking her not to subsidize that damn girl Su Xieyun.
Instead, send the saved food back to Hai City to feed their grandson.
