Chapter 4 Hoarding the Entire Marquis Mansion
Late at night, the courtyard was brightly lit by candles.
To outsiders, the Fu family was still immersed in the joy of the wedding, but inside, they were already busily packing their belongings.
Chu Chenyin and Fu Yanting’s wedding night was naturally not going to continue.
She followed Fu Yanting to take inventory of all the family’s assets.
In the vast warehouse, including Lady Fu’s dowry, there were a total of fifty thousand taels of gold and fifty thousand taels of silver. This did not include the family’s silks and satins, gold and silver jewelry, rare treasures, calligraphy and paintings, and antiques.
Chu Chenyin was startled by the sight of the entire warehouse filled with things. The dazzling gold made her eyes ache. If it weren’t for Fu Yanting being here, she would have probably rushed to stuff it all into her arms.
Gold! Fifty thousand taels of gold!
That’s equivalent to five thousand kilograms today. According to the current price of over four hundred yuan per gram, that’s a lot of money!
Chu Chenyin could already see her new Rolls Royce.
Indeed, from ancient times to the present, wealth has never been a problem.
Chu Chenyin was counting her money when Fu Yanting said dejectedly beside her, “With so much wealth, even if we travel light, we can’t take much. But leaving it here will only benefit that dog emperor.”
“That’s right.” Chu Chenyin nodded in agreement. These treasures couldn’t be taken by the emperor, even if there was a natural disaster. She looked around. The entire warehouse was just her and Fu Yanting. A bold idea ignited in her heart.
Instead of secretly moving things with these ancient people, why not find a suitable assistant? When she takes the things out later, she’ll have another person to cover for her.
She walked inside, turned to Fu Yanting, and said solemnly, “General Fu, I have a way to take all these assets with us, but I don’t know if you’ll believe me.”
Fu Yanting lowered his gaze slightly and looked at her, smiling lightly, “You and I are husband and wife, of course I believe you. But how are you going to move so many things?”
So much gold and silver, even if they sent people to transport it by carriage all night, it would take a day and a night.
What’s more, they would have to avoid the emperor’s and the treacherous officials’ eyes along the way.
In Fu Yanting’s heart, this was an impossible task.
Chu Chenyin slowly walked up to him and extended her hand, “Come with me.”
Fu Yanting looked at her outstretched hand, hesitant.
Chu Chenyin went forward and grabbed his wrist, pulling him towards her. Then, with her thoughts, they both entered the space.
To help Fu Yanting adapt, Chu Chenyin first brought him to the third floor of the space.
It was empty, with nothing in it.
Fu Yanting steadied himself and looked at the scene before him in surprise, “What is this place?”
Chu Chenyin thought for a moment and explained to Fu Yanting what crossing over and space were in the simplest and easiest-to-understand language.
If it were an ordinary man, he would have fallen to the ground at this moment, screaming in terror, “Ghost! Ghost!”
Or, she could cover her head and bump it against the wall, pretending it was all a dream.
However, Fu Yanting was different from ordinary people. After silently walking around the space, he stopped in front of Chu Chenyin, raised his eyebrows, and laughed with a spirited air, “Good! Great! With this place, we can move not only our family’s warehouse, but even the entire capital’s warehouse!”
Chu Chenyin was stunned. She looked at Fu Yanting, who was smiling brightly, and wanted to give him a thumbs up. You’re amazing, you’re truly amazing. Not only are you quick-witted, but your appetite is also huge!
Fu Yanting turned his head to look at her with a smile, “But how are you going to move all those things in?”
“General Fu, don’t worry, let me try.” Chu Chenyin said, closing her eyes slightly and leaving the space to return to the warehouse.
The warehouse was full of boxes of gold and silver.
She tried placing her hand on a box filled with gold, silently thinking to herself to transport the entire box of gold into the space.
Then, the box of gold instantly disappeared and appeared on the third floor of the space.
This method worked just as she had imagined. She didn’t hesitate and immediately continued moving.
Soon, she had moved everything in the entire warehouse to the third floor of the space.
The third floor was four meters high. Although it was only three hundred square meters, every time something was moved in, it would be enlarged for a moment. All the boxes were stacked from bottom to top, taking up less than one-fifth of the space.
Fu Yanting stood aside, watching Chu Chenyin’s entire operation, his pupils shrinking in shock.
However, his brain circuits were truly different from others. He was only shocked for a moment before grabbing Chu Chenyin’s hand and laughing, “This isn’t enough. There are still a lot of porcelain and calligraphy in the various courtyards of the Fu family.”
Chu Chenyin stopped him, “Those things won’t be of much use if we take them!”
Fu Yanting’s lips curled into a mischievous smile, “That dog emperor just wants our family’s wealth, right? I won’t leave him a single copper coin!”
Chu Chenyin thought it made sense. Those who achieve great things must be ruthless. She followed Fu Yanting towards the back courtyard of the Fu family.
They first went to Marquis Fu’s room, where no one was around, and moved anything valuable they saw.
In the end, even an old snuff bottle was taken.
Then it was Lady Fu’s courtyard, the courtyards of the Fu family’s sons and daughters, and then their new room.
Wherever they went, whether it was bedding or clothing, anything that could be taken was taken.
Chu Chenyin wiped the sweat from her forehead. Thankfully, Fu Yanting was leading the way, otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to move all the gold and silver jewelry, antiques, and calligraphy into the space in such a short time.
After all this was done, the third floor of the space seemed to be getting bigger and bigger. Looking around, there was still four-fifths of the space left, as if nothing had been moved in at all.
Chu Chenyin frowned and looked around, thinking hard. If the natural disaster really came, just hoarding these gold and silver treasures wouldn’t be enough.
Fire, drought, earthquake.
What they would need then was food, a lot of food.
She slightly raised her head and looked at the ceiling. The door to the fourth floor of the space suddenly made a sound, and a female voice came from a machine, “Upgrade complete.”
