Chapter 5 The Preservation Space Upgrade is Complete
Chu Chenyin quickly walked towards the door, and saw that the originally closed door suddenly opened.
She cautiously opened the door and slowly walked inside.
The size of this floor was about the same as the one below, about three hundred square meters, but it was cold inside, like a giant cold storage.
Then, she saw a line of words written on one side of the wall in glowing letters, “This is the preservation space, any food can be preserved here indefinitely.”
Chu Chenyin read it several times, standing there for a long time without recovering.
Heaven really knows how to play. With this space, she could keep food for as long as she wanted, even better than their double-door refrigerator.
It was so amazing, she wondered what the next level of space would be.
Thinking about it, she immediately went to the entrance to the fifth floor, where it was written: “48 hours remaining until the fifth floor space upgrade is complete.”
Chu Chenyin was much happier looking at these words than she was at the beginning. She had already started to imagine what the fifth floor space would be like.
However, the most urgent thing was to stock up.
After leaving the fourth floor space, Chu Chenyin first went to the first floor and stored all the fruits and vegetables from the supermarket in the fourth floor space. Then she left the space and returned to the Fu Mansion.
At this time, the night was even deeper, and they still had a few hours to stock up in the capital.
Chu Chenyin immediately pulled Fu Yanting and went to the kitchen of their home.
The kitchen was filled with rice, oil, salt, fruits, vegetables, pigs, ducks, fish, and meat.
Chu Chenyin kept the live poultry in the third floor space, and the dead animals and fresh food were all placed in the fourth floor space.
Fu Yanting saw that they had enough, and then took her to their own granary.
Every wealthy household in the capital had a granary, and every year, their own estates would send a lot of grain.
As the door to the granary opened, a faint scent of rice wafted out.
Chu Chenyin looked carefully and saw that the granary was piled high with grain, all packed in cloth bags and stacked together.
Looking around, there were three mounds of grain.
Fu Yanting walked in and patted a bag of grain, “There’s rice, white flour, millet, corn, soybeans, and some green beans and red beans here. Which ones do you want to take?”
Chu Chenyin’s lips curled up, her eyes bright, “Take them all.”
Fu Yanting also smiled knowingly.
Chu Chenyin strode forward and began to move the grain. In a short while, she had emptied the granary.
Fortunately, the Fu Mansion had always stored a lot of grain, so it wasn’t just a matter of filling a gap.
Fu Yanting waited for her outside, “How is it? Is it full?”
Chu Chenyin shook her head, her almond-shaped eyes curving, “There’s still room to spare.”
Fu Yanting smiled triumphantly, waved his hand, and took out a map and spread it on the table, as if he were leading an army into battle.
Chu Chenyin walked closer to him and asked, “General, are you planning to steal from the national treasury?”
Fu Yanting shook a small braid from his shoulder, stepped on a chair, took out a pen, and casually drew a few circles on the map, “What’s so good about the national treasury? It’s empty. We might as well move these places.”
Chu Chenyin looked down and saw that the circled places were Prime Minister Wan’s mansion, Grand Tutor Liu’s mansion, the original owner’s family, Minister of Rites Chu’s mansion, and several other officials’ mansions she didn’t recognize.
She was stunned for a moment, then couldn’t help but be amazed. Little brother, you’re amazing, you’re truly amazing. If she hadn’t confirmed it several times, she would have really thought that Fu Yanting was also a time traveler.
“Okay, we can leave now, or we’ll run out of time.” Chu Chenyin said solemnly.
According to the time of dawn, the sooner they left, the better.
Fu Yanting looked up at her, “But, Minister of Rites Chu’s mansion is your family. Can you do it?”
Chu Chenyin’s eyes were cold, and she smiled lightly, “General, you forgot, I’m not the real Miss Chu.”
Fu Yanting suddenly realized, “Right, you said you were a time traveler.”
Chu Chenyin didn’t explain further. In fact, besides this, the reason she was so indifferent to the Chu family was that the original owner had many grievances with the people in Minister of Rites Chu’s mansion.
Minister of Rites Chu had three sons and three daughters. The original owner, Chu Chenyin, was the third child, born to a small maid who was forcibly taken by Minister of Rites Chu.
Lady Chu held a grudge against the maid and directly sent someone to throw her into a kiln. She died a few days later.
It was said that when she died, her intestines were hanging out.
Minister of Rites Chu felt heartbroken, but he was a coward and dared not speak out.
Later, Lady Chu pretended to adopt her, but treated her like a servant, beating and scolding her. For over ten years, she had never eaten a full meal. She drank more foot-washing water than she ate rice.
Chu Chenyin recalled the original owner’s memories, her heart ached. She would be willing to slaughter the Minister of Rites’ mansion, let alone empty it.
Fu Yanting took a set of night clothes and gave them to her to change into. The two of them ran along the roof to the Minister of Rites’ mansion.
