Suddenly, in the distant darkness that Chen Xing was gazing at, a figure appeared!
This person carried a broadsword that was over two meters long, slanted by his side. His eyes were fixed firmly on Chen Xing. In the blink of an eye, he had already arrived in front of Chen Xing!
In front of him was the sword aura he had just unleashed. Chen Xing couldn’t evade his attack if he tried to block the sword aura; there wasn’t enough time.
If he blocked the next strike, he would undoubtedly be cleaved in two by the sword aura.
“To possess such mastery at such a young age is indeed impressive, but you’re still too arrogant, this should teach you a lesson,” the Grand Swordmaster foresaw Chen Xing’s death. Before his impending demise, he spoke calmly but with great conviction. His voice wasn’t loud, yet it carried a resolute tone, almost as if each word bore the essence of a sword.
“Uh… Husband…” Little Zero didn’t even have time to look up at Chen Xing. The unstoppable sword aura and the figure of the Grand Swordmaster had already arrived before them.
“Is that so?” Chen Xing sneered coldly.
“Buzz!”
The crimson blade radiance flickered.
“Swoosh!”
The abyss, which had been illuminated, suddenly darkened. Even the bus’s lights seemed to have been tainted with ink, becoming mottled.
“Clang!”
Chen Xing’s blade cleanly severed the sword aura that the Grand Swordmaster was proud of. Then, he forcefully clashed the descending broadsword with the one in his hand.
“Ching~”
A clear ringing sound echoed. Amid the astonishment in everyone’s eyes, Chen Xing gently severed the formidable divine broadsword that had claimed numerous lives.
Then, he swiftly swung his demonic blade towards the head of the Grand Swordmaster!
From the initial action of cleaving the sword aura, to slicing through the broadsword, and finally aiming for the head—three separate strikes were seamlessly integrated into a single strike by Chen Xing.
Completely dumbfounded, the so-called Swordmaster was overwhelmed!
In a moment of distraction, Chen Xing’s demonic blade was already at the side of his neck.
Oh no! He suddenly realized that he couldn’t dodge anymore.
But instinctively, he subconsciously lowered his head in an attempt to evade.
Seeing this, Chen Xing’s blade gently halted. Then, with one swift motion, he sliced down.
“Thud, thud…”
Was that the sound of something falling to the ground?
The Grand Swordmaster gazed in a daze at the two severed demon horns that had fallen at his feet.
Chen Xing had actually sliced off both his demon horns!
Demon horns weren’t unbreakable like unyielding stone. However, having one’s demon horns severed was a disgrace for any swordsman!
Of course, Chen Xing wasn’t aware of this, he just wanted to cut something.
This single strike left the mighty Swordmaster questioning his life choices! He had lived for over a hundred years and had never felt so humiliated.
The broadsword that had accompanied him for nearly a century was now broken. His final vestige of demon pride, his demon horns, was severed as well.
It’s worth mentioning that demon horns couldn’t regenerate. Although the lifeline hadn’t been severed, under the current circumstances, even if the world were peaceful, a demon without its horns wouldn’t find a place to belong.
What use was the lifeline then?
At this moment, life seemed to lose all meaning.
Seeing his dazed expression, Chen Xing felt like he should say something, so he pretended to cough, “This should teach you a lesson. You were still too arrogant.”
Chen Xing delivered his own words back to the Grand Swordmaster, unchanged. It was both damaging and highly humiliating!
The Grand Swordmaster lifted his head, looking at Chen Xing before him with confusion. And at little Zero in his arms.
Who was this person? How could such a powerful youth exist in the Demon Realm?
“Who are you?” He had already deduced Chen Xing’s identity.
After all, little Zero had mentioned it earlier. Following their exchange just now, the Grand Swordmaster was almost certain.
Chen Xing might really be the Demon King! Otherwise, how could someone so young possess such strength?
However, Chen Xing wasn’t wearing the Demon King’s armor, just ordinary demon armor. This made the Grand Swordmaster hesitate slightly. He still needed to hear it from Chen Xing’s own mouth.
Chen Xing chuckled lightly and looked at little Zero in his arms. He calmly said, “Sweetie, tell him who I am.”
The bus was floating in the air, no longer descending.
All the demons were looking at little Zero, waiting for her to utter those two words.
When little Zero was mediating earlier, her words were more eloquent. But now that Chen Xing was asking her to say it seriously, she didn’t know how to phrase it!
Seeing everyone waiting for her, she felt both embarrassed and anxious.
Chen Xing chuckled softly at her reaction. “What’s the matter? Feeling shy?”
Little Zero thought Chen Xing was mocking her and blushed. Subconsciously, she blurted out, “Uh… he’s my Husband!”
The demons: ???
“Uh… no! I misspoke!”
After she finished, she realized she said the wrong thing. Hastily, she corrected herself, “No, I didn’t say it wrong!”
The demons: ???
“Hahaha…” Chen Xing burst into laughter, ruffled the head of this little silly girl in his arms.
“Sob… I don’t want to say it…” Little Zero blushed, embarrassed, and buried her head in his chest.
Chen Xing chuckled softly, just about to speak.
The more than one hundred demons inside the bus had by now climbed onto the roof of the vehicle.
The demons standing on the cliff around the bus noticed them emerging and called out their names with exclamations of surprise. They eagerly responded in kind. After all, these individuals had been scouting on the frontlines and didn’t often return. Reuniting with old friends brought immense joy to each of them.
But the few leading demons off the bus were the first to notice that Chen Xing was standing before the Grand Swordmaster with a blade in his hand. Meanwhile, the infamous Abyssal Broadblade that the Swordmaster held was broken, and the demon horns on his head were severed.
Their hearts were filled with astonishment—had the strongest man in the entire Abyssal City truly been defeated? By this Demon King?
This was indeed the Demon King!
He truly lived up to his reputation as the Demon King!
Quickly, they rushed over and immediately knelt down in front of Chen Xing. They pleaded loudly: “Lord Demon King! Please show mercy! This person is the strongest fighter in our Abyssal City!”
“He merely acted out of a lack of understanding and was defending our homeland. He didn’t intend to offend you, Lord Demon King!”
“We implore you, Lord Demon King, to show mercy!”
Plop~
The other swordsmen also quickly knelt down, especially those who were disciples of the Grand Swordmaster. Even though he was the Demon King, they couldn’t just stand by and watch their own master being killed!
Suddenly, amidst the warm greetings happening around, the rest of the demons fell silent and stared blankly at the young couple before them.
Could this person truly be the Demon King? What about his Demon King’s armor?
Meanwhile, the Grand Swordmaster was feeling the most shock of all. The Demon King! The young man before him was truly the Demon King!
Before everyone could react, Star Demon Lifia had been brought up to the roof by someone. Though he couldn’t see, he could hear and sense to a certain extent. He knew that everyone was finding it hard to believe.
Thus, he pushed away the person supporting him and plopped down on his knees on the roof.
“In honor of the arrival of the Demon King!”
His voice was loud and powerful, resonating strongly!
Everyone was shaken to their core. It truly was the Demon King!
“It’s really the Demon King!”
An elderly man’s voice trembled as he spoke, even sounding choked up.
Plop!
The Grand Swordmaster knelt directly before Chen Xing. This startled little Zero, causing her to shrink back.
“In honor of the arrival of the Demon King!”
“We, your humble servants, were blind and ignorant! We deserve to die a thousand deaths!”
Plop!
More than a hundred demons simultaneously knelt down. With their loudest voices, they shouted in unison: “In honor of the arrival of the Demon King!”
Their voices reverberated through the abyss, inspiring everyone present.
Soon, the demons standing on the cliffs around them began to kneel down as well. Many of them were shedding tears.
For nearly a century, they had hidden and lived as fugitives in what should have been their homeland. They were forced to cower in drains, in caves, within the depths of the abyss itself. This wasn’t just a hundred years of despair; it marked the darkest century in the history of the demons.
And now, as the dawn’s first light broke through the sky and descended into the abyss, it illuminated their tear-streaked faces, glistening like precious gems. It shone upon Chen Xing.
He was their Demon King.
He was their beacon of hope.
He was the sole hope to end the darkness of this century.
Tears streamed down their faces as they released decades of suppressed emotions. With heart-wrenching voices, they cried out in unison: “In honor of the arrival of the Demon King!”
“In honor of the arrival of the Demon King!”
“Um…” Little Zero stared blankly at the demons around her, whose tears flowed freely. Their poignant yet uplifting emotions deeply affected her. A few glistening tears welled up in the corners of her eyes.
Chen Xing was also profoundly moved by their emotions. Hearing their heart-wrenching shouts and cheers, he felt as if he were immersed in that century of darkness. He deeply felt their pain but found himself at a loss for words.
The bus was still on the upper levels of the Abyssal City. There were still countless lower levels below. Standing there, Chen Xing was unsure of what to say. He turned to San’er and calmly said: “Go down first.”
“Yes, Master!”
As soon as the demons around heard this, they all shouted in unison.
Chen Xing: “…”
I wasn’t talking to you!
The bus gradually descended, and the demons around began to run, racing toward the lower levels. Along the way, they kept shouting: “In honor of the arrival of the Demon King!”
Thus, news of the Demon King’s arrival spread instantaneously throughout the abyss. Everyone knelt down, waiting in silence for the Demon King to descend.
Chen Xing looked at the demons kneeling and weeping layer after layer below him, and his heart was filled with mixed emotions…
