“Quick, chase them!”
The high-ranking SS-ranked experts split into two groups and entered the rooms where San’er and Chen Xing had gone.
They were still trespassing into private residences.
“What the heck!”
The three agents pursuing San’er broke through the window simultaneously and found themselves standing in the unfortunate homeowner’s living room.
The homeowners in the room were puzzled, their faces showing confusion. What had just happened? Wasn’t this their home? Who were these three burly men?
The three agents looked around but didn’t find San’er, who had entered earlier. The room’s door was closed, and it seemed he hadn’t left.
The leader among them furrowed his brow and turned his gaze to the married couple. “Where’s the person who came in just now?”
The husband and wife: ??? They wanted to know too!
They had only sensed a shadow appearing a moment ago, and then the glass had shattered. After realizing what happened, they had found no one else in the room. Then these three burly men barged in.
“Where is he? We are part of the national special task force. We are pursuing someone, and if you are found to be harboring him, you will be dealt with according to the law!”
Upon hearing this, the husband and wife immediately stood up from the couch. The national special task force? They promptly explained the situation.
The three agents looked at each other in bewilderment.
They had lost track!
Three SS-ranked experts had actually lost their target. They could barely keep up!
As for San’er, the moment he broke through the window, he already retracted the robot into the system. His consciousness had been residing in Chen Xing’s body the entire time. So, these three agents were chasing after an empty shell from the beginning.
Now, on Chen Xing’s end…
A single young woman, also a beauty, stared in horror at her shattered window. Three men had entered her apartment just now. She couldn’t make sense of it. This was the 110th floor! How had they gotten in?
The first one, Chen Xing, had made her feel like something had flashed by in front of her. Then there was a loud “bang,” and the door was blasted open, flying into the corridor.
The corridor echoed with heavy footsteps, and two more heavily muscled men entered her apartment. They looked quite intimidating.
These two men landed on the floor for a brief moment and then, like dragonflies skimming water, shot into the corridor.
On the 110th floor, the windows were shattered, the door was broken, and a strong wind howled into the apartment.
The young woman stood there, disheveled, trying to make sense of what had just happened. One thing bothered her: What were these three men doing? They entered, but… they hadn’t done anything!
Annoying!
“Area A, the primary target has disappeared! Any sightings in other areas?”
“No sightings in Area N!”
“No sightings in Area C!”
“No sightings in Area V either!”
“Report… the secondary target has also disappeared.”
“…”
Shortly after, dozens of experts in the group chat fell into silence.
“A bunch of useless people!”
“…”
Their team leader couldn’t help but curse loudly.
Others were angry but remained silent.
Us, useless? You’re the one who lost them!
“What about the surveillance?”
“It’s all black, can’t see anything.”
“Even the surveillance at Yu Yu’s house is down.”
“…Let’s go find Yu Yu.”
Yu Yu’s home: “Knock, knock…”
“I’m coming!”
Yu Yu knew from the heavy knocking that it was the authorities. She rushed to open the door.
“Have they been back here?”
Yu Yu: “Huh? No, they haven’t.”
Then she looked surprised and added, “You… lost them?”
The leader, expressionless, didn’t say a word but led his team inside. They ransacked Yu Yu’s home thoroughly, and she could only watch helplessly, unable to do anything.
She was shocked by the fact that San’er and the chef had managed to escape the encirclement of dozens of experts.
After finding nothing in Yu Yu’s house, the agents recorded her conversation with Chen Xing and confiscated everything that Chen Xing and San’er had touched on-site, as they might contain their fingerprints.
However, Chen Xing and San’er had already thought of that. They had erased their fingerprints long ago.
Afterward, the agents left Yu Yu’s home, reminding her to keep the communication channel open, waiting for the next mission.
Yu Yu nodded and saw them off. Meanwhile, Chen Xing…
He was hiding in a dark corner, observing the system panel in front of him. The red dots marked on it, about half of them had left the residential area, while the other half remained at various checkpoints. It seemed like they didn’t believe Chen Xing had left and chose to stay behind for further observation.
At this moment, the young woman who had witnessed Chen Xing’s entrance returned to her room in frustration. Her door had remained open.
Upon entering her room, her wardrobe suddenly opened with a loud “bang.” Chen Xing, now in a different appearance and wearing shoe lifts to increase his height, stepped out of the wardrobe. He had also changed his body size and shape.
The bewildered young woman stared at the nearly two-meter-tall young man in front of her, struck by his handsomeness.
But wait! Why were you in my closet?
Chen Xing glanced at her without a word, then walked past her and left the room, closing the door with a “bang.”
The bewildered young woman: ???
Do we still have a door at home? Wasn’t it smashed just now?
She quickly ran out of her room into the living room. She found that the window had been repaired, and the door had been fixed as well. It was as if nothing had happened just now. Was it all a dream?
She hurried to the door and opened it, looking around the hallway. At this moment, there was no one in the corridor.
“Damn it!”
Terrified, she quickly called her home phone.
“Dad? Leave the door for me tonight! I’m coming home!”
As Chen Xing had entered the house earlier, he retrieved the robot San’er from the system and threw it with all his strength. Then San’er smashed the front door of the house.
Afterwards, he swiftly entered the woman’s room. At the same time, he had San’er create footsteps outside the corridor, luring those experts to chase after him. Once they left the house, San’er was recalled into the system again, creating a seamless connection and a flawless plan.
The young woman was just an ordinary person. How could she possibly see Chen Xing’s speed clearly? After Chen Xing left the her room, he walked openly and calmly in the residential area, as if nothing had happened.
He deliberately picked those checkpoints where people were hiding, pretending to be unaware of their presence and walking past them. At this moment, Chen Xing’s height, appearance, body type, and clothing had all changed, so they couldn’t recognize him.
However, a person he passed by came up to question him.
“Wait, where do you live?”
A tall man who was over 1.9 meters suddenly appeared in front of Chen Xing. But with the height boost inserts, Chen Xing stood at over 2 meters tall, making the man appear short.
“I live on the 390th floor, Unit 611.” Chen Xing, who was proficient in voice imitation, even changed his voice to sound different.
“Show me your ID card.”
Chen Xing wrinkled his nose and frowned, “Why bother? I have things to do, and my girlfriend is waiting for me.”
He acted like a regular teenager with a bit of an attitude. The tall man’s face darkened, “Don’t waste time, show me your ID card.”
Chen Xing was trying to buy time for San’er to create an ID card.
Afterward, an ID card appeared in Chen Xing’s hand, and he handed it to the tall man. The information on it was all fake.
The tall man looked at the ID card and then at Chen Xing. After confirming it was correct, he returned the ID card and finally allowed him to leave.
Chen Xing then left the residential area directly, and those members of the special action team sent by the country were doomed to not capture him again.
Chen Xing and San’er quickly arrived at the villa of Lin Yuexi, where little Zero was staying. The door was opened by Lin Yuexi.
“Where’s Zero?” As Chen Xing entered and looked around, he didn’t see little Zero’s figure.
“She’s upstairs partying with Su Su.”
Chen Xing raised an eyebrow, thinking: They’re still singing!? I should sneak in to eavesdrop on my wife singing…
He then smiled and said to Lin Yuexi, “Don’t tell them I sneaked in. By the way, have you eaten?”
Lin Yuexi teased, “No, I’m waiting for you, the great chef!”
Chen Xing nodded, “Alright, I’ll cook a feast for you tonight.”
“That’s great!” Lin Yuexi was already looking forward to it because Chen Xing’s cooking was exceptionally delicious.
“I’ll go find her upstairs.”
“Sure, she’s on the third floor.”
Chen Xing sneaked up to the third floor.
“Giggle…”
Upon reaching the third floor, he could hear the laughter of two young girls. They seemed to be having a great time chatting.
“Wow, it’s my song!” Little Zero’s voice suddenly came through.
Chen Xing raised an eyebrow but didn’t directly push the door open. Instead, he leaned against the wall outside the door, with a slight smile, quietly waiting for little Zero to start singing.
Soon, a slow and melodious prelude began playing. Although Chen Xing had never heard this world’s songs before and didn’t know its style, he could feel that this tune was not bad just from the prelude.
Listening to the music, Chen Xing, who understood music, knew that the vocal part was about to start. In his mind, he silently counted, “3, 2, 1…”
“Sing…”
But…
Little Zero’s voice didn’t come in when it was supposed to. The feeling of anticipation made Chen Xing, who understood music, very uncomfortable.
Zero remained silent while Su Su’s voice suddenly entered, “Sing, big sister! What are you thinking?”
“Umm… Oh! Sorry… I was thinking about… not Chen Xing.”
Chen Xing chuckled softly. Although little Zero wasn’t standing in front of him, he felt a wave of tenderness.
So, she was thinking about me… I’ll forgive you then.
Su Su was already speechless.
“Umm… Wait a minute, I want to start over! I don’t want to think this time…” As she spoke, Zero replayed the song, and the music began again. Before the song started, she mumbled softly, “Why isn’t he back yet… Sigh…”
A long sigh.
Su Su said, “Can you stop sighing? I’ve counted for you, and tonight, besides laughing, you’ve sighed 90 times in total within an hour!”
“Is that necessary? It’s only been three hours since you separated!” Su Su couldn’t help but complain while touching her forehead.
Zero pouted and corrected, “Umm… it’s been three and a half hours! Sob…”
Su Su: ?? Is there a difference?
Chen Xing, listening from outside, couldn’t help but burst into laughter. She’s such a silly girl.
San’er 【 You two are really a perfect match. I’m impressed! 】
“Hehe…”
“Oh no!” Zero’s voice came again, “It’s your fault! I messed up again… No, I have to start over.”
Su Su; “As long as you’re happy.”
Chen Xing outside was having a great time: this silly girl is so adorable.
His anticipation grew even stronger. What does singing from such a cute person sound like? So, the music started for the third time.
Chen Xing waited silently. Once again, he silently counted the time in his heart.
“3, 2, 1!”
“Sing…”
“Ahhh!!! Wow~”
!!!
A sharp, childish, and piercing wail echoed.
Chen Xing was dumbfounded!
???
What’s going on?
He didn’t expect…
That the cute and lovely little Zero…
Was a super-duper tone-deaf singer!
