Chapter 30: Miss Jian Resigned
Outside the door, Assistant Lin and several other assistants saw Jian Yao come out. They opened the glass door of the secretary’s office to greet her.
Separated by two doors, they couldn’t hear anything from the office. They were all full of anticipation.
Assistant Lin took a step forward, forcing a friendly smile on his face. “Miss Jian, did you resolve the matter with Mr. Lu?”
He asked, but in his heart, he was almost certain that Jian Yao would help. This question was just to lead to the issue of the assistants.
Jian Yao raised a pair of clear peach blossom eyes and spoke softly, “It’s resolved.”
She had resolved the matter with Lu Chengze.
As she spoke, she bypassed Assistant Lin and walked towards the elevator.
The assistants looked at Assistant Lin with pleading eyes. Assistant Lin quickly caught up with her, “Did you mention the assistant matter to Mr. Lu?”
When Assistant Lin asked this question, everyone’s eyes were on Jian Yao. Even Liu Yiyi, who was sitting at her desk putting on makeup, couldn’t help but look over.
Lu Chengze was not a good-tempered man. Everyone in the company, even Liu Yiyi, had been scolded to tears. Only Jian Yao could calmly walk out of that office.
The assistants exchanged glances.
If even Director Jian couldn’t persuade Mr. Lu, then no one in the entire company could save them.
Under Assistant Lin’s eager gaze and the hopeful eyes of the assistants, Jian Yao pressed the elevator button and said indifferently, “No.”
The light in the assistants’ eyes dimmed, and their eyes instantly turned red.
Assistant Lin was also choked by Jian Yao’s straightforward words.
But he was more composed than the girls. He quickly adjusted his expression, maintaining a polite smile. “Then could Miss Jian go back and talk to Mr. Lu? The secretary’s office is…”
Jian Yao watched the elevator floor number slowly rise, took a step back to create some distance between herself and Assistant Lin and the others, “Assistant Lin, whether it’s the warehouse matter or the secretary’s office matter, it has nothing to do with me.”
She looked at the metal elevator door, her eyes straight ahead. “From now on, everything related to Lu Corporation is none of my business.”
The entire space fell silent for a moment, the atmosphere strangely stagnant.
The assistants stood there dumbfounded. Assistant Lin was the first to react, muttering, “What do you mean?”
Jian Yao turned to Assistant Lin and gave him a standard smile, just as fake as the one he usually gave her.
“I resigned.”
Resigned?
Who? Miss Jian?
Assistant Lin felt like his brain wasn’t working properly.
Why would Miss Jian resign?
She was the future mistress of Lu Corporation!
Where could she go after leaving Lu Corporation?
No, it should be said, with Mr. Lu around, why would she resign?
Before Assistant Lin could figure it out, the elevator door opened with a “ding.”
Wu Yue came out of the elevator with his phone in hand. The smile on his face froze when he saw the group of people gathered at the elevator entrance. “What are you all doing here?”
When his gaze fell on Jian Yao, there was a hint of dissatisfaction in his eyes. He said sarcastically, “Oh, our Miss Jian finally deigned to grace us with her presence at the company?”
Although Jian Yao was the real daughter of the Jian family, she was recognized as the second daughter of the Jian family when she was brought back.
Wu Yue’s “Miss Jian” was somewhat sarcastic.
He was subtly mocking her, a real daughter, who had to call the fake daughter “sister.”
Jian Yao didn’t even look at him, picked up her bag, and stepped into the elevator.
The elevator door closed, and she didn’t give Wu Yue a single glance.
Wu Yue couldn’t stand being ignored like this. He was furious and stomped his feet. “Look at her! She’s not even Mrs. Lu yet, and she’s acting so high and mighty!”
She’ll ruin whatever feelings Brother Lu has for her sooner or later!
She always has a deadpan face, no fun at all. It’s no wonder Brother Lu left her and went to find Liu Yiyi.
If I were him, I’d like Liu Yiyi’s kind, gentle personality too.
He finished his scolding only to realize the entire top floor was eerily quiet. He belatedly realized something was wrong.
Turning his head, he saw Assistant Lin with an unusually vacant expression, as if he had been startled.
The others weren’t in any better shape.
Several junior assistants were red-eyed, tears streaming down their faces, sobbing uncontrollably.
Only Liu Yiyi in the secretary’s office seemed normal, holding a powder puff, her expression a mixture of surprise and delight. www.hanshuge.c*om
What had happened?
Why was there both joy and sorrow?
Wu Yue approached Assistant Lin, waving his hand in front of him. “What’s wrong? What happened?”
They all looked like they were possessed!
Assistant Lin swatted away Wu Yue’s hand, his voice tinged with panic. “Miss Jian… resigned.”
The expression on Wu Yue’s face froze. He instinctively grabbed his phone, turning off the screen, abandoning his previous carefree demeanor.
“Then what about Brother Lu…?”
Assistant Lin mechanically pointed towards the president’s office.
As soon as Wu Yue entered the president’s office, he saw utter chaos.
Everything on the entire desk had been swept to the floor: a shattered computer, scattered documents, a broken pen…
Even the familiar blue crystal pendant that was rarely allowed to be touched was broken in two, lying on the floor, north and south.
In all the years he had known Lu Chengze, this was the first time he had seen him so furious.
Wu Yue’s temples throbbed.
If he could, he would flee, as far away as possible.
But he couldn’t.
He even stepped over the shards of glass to approach him. “Brother Lu, Jian Yao left. What about the Li Corporation deal?”
Eight hundred million! Even if he sold himself by the pound, he wouldn’t be able to raise that much!
As if carved from ice, Lu Chengze raised his crimson eyes, a layer of dark coldness clouding them. “So, even you think I can’t live without her?”
Wu Yue shook his head, exclaiming, “No, how could that be?”
It was clearly Jian Yao who couldn’t live without Brother Lu.
It didn’t matter that Jian Yao left; she would be back sooner or later.
The problem was, the Li Corporation project couldn’t wait!
Wu Yue scratched his head anxiously. “Brother Lu, one day has already passed out of the three days. Where are we going to get eight hundred million?”
He stole a glance at Lu Chengze’s expression, tentatively suggesting, “Brother Lu, why don’t you swallow your pride and go coax her back? Once we deal with the Li Corporation issue, you can give her a good scolding?”
Lu Chengze grabbed the jacket beside him and threw it at Wu Yue’s head. “Get out!”
While he said “get out,” his tense expression softened slightly due to Wu Yue’s playful banter.
“She said that ever since I went to Shanghai to find Liu Yiyi, our relationship has been completely severed.” Lu Chengze gritted his teeth, the words practically squeezed out between them.
“Impossible! I bet you anything, she’ll be back on her own, tail between her legs, in three days.”
Wu Yue scoffed.
Seeing Jian Yao’s tough attitude earlier, he thought she had finally grown up!
It turned out she was still jealous of Liu Yiyi.
Wu Yue’s words clearly pleased Lu Chengze. He closed his eyes and leaned back on the sofa, the crimson in his eyes gradually fading.
Seeing that Lu Chengze’s expression had completely softened, Wu Yue suggested, “Why don’t we issue a notice and fire Liu Yiyi and Liu Yaozong?”
“Mr. Li has always treated Jian Yao like a junior. He took such decisive action this time, there must be some dissatisfaction with the Liu siblings. The most important thing now is to appease the Li Corporation.”
Even if they brought her back later?
At least they could solve the immediate problem first.
