Chapter 35: She’s Simply Lustful
A bunch of white lilies.
Green leaves surrounded the white, delicate flowers, which still had water droplets on them. They were simple yet beautiful.
Jian Yao paused as her hand reached for the car door. “These flowers… are they for me?”
This time it wasn’t her being narcissistic, it was just that the car had only two seats.
Gu Zhiyan smiled and nodded, his tone teasing. “Do you see anyone else here with us?”
Jian Yao’s face flushed red as she opened the car door and brought the flowers inside.
The door closed, and she fastened her seatbelt, feeling a little embarrassed.
“Why did you think of buying flowers?”
He even drove such a flashy car.
Jian Yao secretly glanced at Gu Zhiyan beside her. It was a simple white shirt, a clean and refreshing outfit.
But on Gu Zhiyan, it somehow had a peacock showing off its feathers kind of vibe.
Especially paired with such a showy car.
Gu Zhiyan noticed her stealing glances, a smile playing on his lips, his voice filled with amusement.
“Good romances should start with a bouquet of flowers. Although we’re not in love, we did get our marriage certificate.”
He paused, his voice lowering a bit. “What others have, my wife should have too.”
The words “my wife” echoed in Jian Yao’s ears, making her head spin.
Given the lesson she learned from being narcissistic before, this time Jian Yao didn’t dare to think too much, attributing it to the inexplicable competitive spirit of a privileged son.
Holding the flowers in her arms, her voice was shaky when she spoke. “But I didn’t prepare a gift for you today.”
She initially thought that someone like Gu Zhiyan would be cold, aloof, and hard to approach.
Even after getting married, they would mostly be indifferent to each other.
Unexpectedly, even though he didn’t like her, he was so considerate and attentive, taking care of her everywhere. He truly was a child raised in a prestigious family.
In comparison, she, the so-called heiress who was brought back into the family later, was like an impolite nouveau riche.
Thinking about this, Jian Yao lowered her head in shame.
Gu Zhiyan slightly turned his head to look at her, his gaze lingering on her flushed ears for two seconds before he slowly started the car. “It’s okay, I already received the best gift in the world today.”
Jian Yao looked at Gu Zhiyan with a confused expression. He held the steering wheel, his gaze focused on the road ahead, as if his words were just a casual remark.
Looking at his impeccable profile, Jian Yao was very certain that she had only gotten her marriage certificate with him today, and hadn’t given him anything.
Maybe it was something other people gave him after they got their certificate.
After all, he had changed his clothes and even changed cars, so he must have met someone important.
Thinking about this, Jian Yao felt a strange sense of unease in her heart, like there was a breath stuck in her chest, unable to come up or go down.
She withdrew her gaze, looking at the road ahead without focus.
In her peripheral vision, the platinum ring on Gu Zhiyan’s finger gleamed coldly white in the sunlight.
Jian Yao pursed her lips.
A genius was indeed meticulous in everything he did, even fake marriage came with a wedding ring.
She touched her empty finger, feeling that she was really not as professional as Gu Zhiyan.
Gu Zhiyan noticed her small gesture, seeing that she wasn’t wearing a wedding ring, he fell silent for a moment. “Why aren’t you wearing your wedding ring?”
“Don’t you like it?”
The engagement was rushed, and that was the best large-carat diamond he could find in a short period of time.
If she didn’t like it, he would pay more attention to auctions in the future.
Jian Yao shook her head. “No, I like it.”
She looked up at Gu Zhiyan for a moment, then quickly averted her gaze, “That ring is too expensive, I’m afraid I’ll accidentally lose it.”
Besides, a ten-carat pink diamond ring would be too eye-catching to wear out.
Although the ring was beautiful, it was simply too impractical for everyday wear.
Gu Zhiyan turned the steering wheel in his hand, understanding, “I didn’t think it through.”
Jian Yao tilted her head to look at him, fearing he would misunderstand, she quickly explained, “It’s not that, I’m very grateful for your consideration.”
“And, the ring is beautiful.”
No girl could resist something so sparkling.
Gu Zhiyan didn’t look down on her for taking the initiative to come to him, nor did he treat her with indifference. He gave her and her sister the respect and dignity they deserved.
She was grateful.
Meeting Jian Yao’s sincere gaze, Gu Zhiyan subtly curled his lips.
The blue Lamborghini executed a beautiful drift and stopped in front of a courtyard.
Jian Yao was immediately captivated by the antique and elegant architectural style.
The garage door opened, and the car smoothly entered.
Gu Zhiyan led Jian Yao out of the parking lot, “Have you had dinner?”
Jian Yao clutched the flowers in her hands, one hand touching her stomach, “Not yet.”
She had been too busy watching Gu Zhiyan’s videos in the afternoon and forgot about eating.
Gu Zhiyan softly replied, “Then that’s good, I haven’t eaten either.”
His voice was already low, and the “oh” was slightly drawn out, sounding particularly sexy. When it entered her ears, it was like a feather brushing past, making her heart itch.
Jian Yao, who had been looking at the surrounding scenery, retracted her gaze, looking down at the stone path ahead, reflecting on herself.
She only knew she was a hand-fetishist before.
After truly getting to know Gu Zhiyan, she discovered she was actually a face-fetishist.
However, just now, she realized she also had the potential to become a voice-fetishist, or rather, she was simply a lustful woman.
Jian Yao bit her cheek, unwilling to accept the fact that she was actually a nymphomaniac.
Gu Zhiyan turned his head to look at her, “It’s still an hour and a half before the event starts, we can make something ourselves. I’m not a good cook, how about pan-fried steak with mushroom soup?”
This menu was very much in line with Jian Yao’s impression of Gu Zhiyan, the kind of cold and domineering CEO who usually eats Western food.
And, most likely has a stomach problem.
Jian Yao nodded, “I’m not picky, anything is fine.”
As she spoke, her eyes couldn’t help but glance at Gu Zhiyan.
She was originally just curious if Gu Zhiyan had a stomach problem, but when she turned her head, she was drawn to the expanse of white that was his chest.
Two buttons at his collar were undone, revealing delicate collarbones and a prominent Adam’s apple, which rolled up and down with each word he spoke, incredibly sexy.
Jian Yao’s gaze couldn’t help but follow his muscular lines downwards. He looked like a very disciplined person, he must have abs, right?
She was lost in thought, not noticing that a small stone on the stone path had become loose. She stepped on it, her body staggered.
Gu Zhiyan stretched out his long arm, catching her falling form.
Out of instinct, Jian Yao instinctively grabbed onto Gu Zhiyan.
The summer clothes were thin, and through the thin fabric, she could clearly feel the man’s muscular lines hidden beneath his clothes.
She didn’t know how many, but she could confirm that there were definitely some!
“Are you okay?”
The man’s low voice came from above, his eyes filled with concern.
Jian Yao felt the vibrations coming from his chest, met Gu Zhiyan’s dark eyes, and stammered, “I’m, I’m fine.”
