“It doesn’t hurt.” In fact, Taohua hadn’t even noticed the bruise on her shoulder.

Even though Xiaolan had told her that women often feel pain the first time, she didn’t feel anything.

She just felt that, at that moment, she had no self-control and could only let Qin Big Brother do as he pleased.

“Qin Big Brother, I need to get dressed. Could you go outside for a bit? And please remember to close the door when you leave.”

Qin Feng knew Taohua was embarrassed, so he stood up and left.

“Caught in a trap. I’m giving you some nourishment; you’re too skinny.” The man said as he placed a chicken leg into Taohua’s bowl.

If this were in the past, Taohua would never have accepted the second chicken leg.

A chicken only has two legs, and the men in her family still needed to work. She couldn’t possibly take both legs for herself.

But now, she couldn’t care about such things.

Because her mind was occupied with the man’s words, “You’re too skinny.”

He had said that last night.

He said she was too thin, with such a small waist that it seemed like it could break with just a touch.

Thinking about this, Taohua’s face turned red again.

But Qin Feng didn’t notice anything unusual. He was thinking about the day’s plans.

“The trap in the mountains is broken. I need to go chop some bamboo from the back mountain later. There probably won’t be many more sunny days, so you should take the animal pelts from the storage room and lay them out to dry. In a couple of days, take them to the town and exchange them for money. We also need to buy some things for the New Year.”

“Okay.” Taohua didn’t forget the promise she had made to Qin Feng at the Chen family.

She had said that if Qin Feng could bring out ten taels of silver to marry her, she would find a way to earn that money back after moving in.

Although she hadn’t hunted those animal pelts herself, she could still help out a little.

The couple reached an agreement, and after breakfast, they each went about their work.

The pelts in the storage room had already been tanned by Qin Feng, but after being stacked together for a while, they inevitably developed a bit of a smell.

Taohua took them all out now, spreading them one by one on the large stones in the yard to dry.

While she was busy, someone suddenly knocked loudly on the yard door.

By this time, Wang Da and Wang Er had become impatient with the knocking.

One of them shouted, “Chen Taohua, open the door! I know you’re inside. I saw you through the crack in the door just now! If you don’t come out, don’t blame us for breaking in!”

Taohua suspected they might be trying to deceive her, so she remained silent.

She also knew that she was no match for these two brothers. After thinking for a moment, the only thing she could do was go find her husband.

However, before she had even taken five steps, the door to the yard was kicked open by the two brothers.

“Stop! I see you, Chen Taohua! Let’s see where you think you’re going!” Wang Da stretched out his hand to grab Taohua, while Wang Er came from the other direction to block her.

Though Taohua didn’t know what these two brothers were after, seeing their malicious intentions, she didn’t care about the reason anymore.

She shut her eyes, swung the carrying pole, and started swinging it wildly.

Her aimless swings actually caused Wang Da and Wang Er to lose their composure.

Wang Da accidentally got hit on his arm, howling in pain, “Er, this little Taohua is pretty tough. Go around to the back and subdue her.”

Taohua wasn’t deaf, so when she heard Wang Da say that, she started spinning in circles, swinging the pole.

Whether it was because the Wang brothers weren’t paying attention or because Taohua was having some luck that day, every swing seemed to land on them.

Before long, several lumps had appeared on the foreheads of Wang Da and Wang Er.

The two brothers howled in pain, and Taohua couldn’t help but smile inwardly at their frantic scrambling.
