Chapter 78: Who Are You? Who’s Your Son?
“Who are you? Who’s your son?” she yelled, wanting to jump up and beat Liu Yiyi to death.
Liu’s father was squatting on the side of the road, puffing away at a cigarette and looking around, ignoring his wife and daughter’s dispute.
He looked up and saw a black car turning the corner, the little flying man on the hood was very recognizable!
He had seen this car!
It was exactly the same as the photo his daughter showed him last night!
He stubbed out his cigarette on the ground, abruptly stood up, and reached out to pull Liu’s mother and Liu Yiyi apart. “Stop it! Stop fighting! He’s here!”
Liu’s mother released Liu Yiyi’s hair and looked up. She had done her homework beforehand and recognized the iconic little man at a glance. Her cloudy old eyes lit up.
Whether or not she could save her precious son depended on this moment!
Inside the car.
Lu Chengze sat with a cold face, tilting his head back to drink some stomach medicine.
He had drunk a lot the night before because of the loan issue. He only remembered seeing Wu Yue come to pick him up before he passed out completely.
Logically, he trusted Wu Yue.
But he didn’t know why, when he woke up this morning, his knee was bruised, his hand was scraped, and his wrist was red and raw…
He looked suspiciously at the mark on his wrist, rubbed it, and looked up at Wu Yue in the front. “Last night, nothing special happened, right?”
Wu Yue in the driver’s seat glanced at the rearview mirror, swallowed nervously, and chuckled. “I stayed up all night with you last night, how could anything happen?”
To make himself look more believable, he patted his chest confidently, raising his voice. “Brother Lu, you can’t trust me?”
Lu Chengze frowned, about to speak, when he suddenly saw a middle-aged woman rushing towards them. His pupils dilated, and he exclaimed, “Brake!”
Wu Yue was lost in thought, but when he heard Lu Chengze’s shout, he instinctively slammed on the brakes.
Fortunately, they were already at the company entrance, the car was moving slowly, and they didn’t hit anyone.
Wu Yue’s body lurched forward due to inertia. If it wasn’t for the seatbelt, he would have at least had a concussion.
After the car stopped, he looked at the woman blocking the road in front of him, furious. He rolled down the window and yelled.
“Are you blind? Didn’t you see the car was moving? You want to die!”
Unexpectedly, the woman didn’t dodge or avoid him. Instead, she “plop” knelt down on the ground.
“Mr. Lu, I beg you, please spare my son this time!”
“He knows he was wrong, he really knows he was wrong. Please be merciful and forgive him this time. We’ll take him back to the countryside immediately and never appear in front of you again!”
Wu Yue looked at the unfamiliar middle-aged woman, absolutely certain he didn’t know her.
He had grown up with Lu Chengze, he didn’t know her, and Brother Lu couldn’t possibly know her either.
But this woman, who looked like she wouldn’t be easy to deal with, kept calling him Mr. Lu, and she didn’t seem to be mistaken.
He stuck his head out and asked, “Hey! Who are you? Who’s your son…”
He stopped mid-sentence, his eyes suddenly falling on Liu Yiyi, who was standing nearby, looking disheveled.
What else could he not understand?
They already knew Liu Yiyi’s family wasn’t well-off, and her parents were extremely patriarchal and extremely cruel to her.
That was also why they usually took good care of Liu Yiyi. Whenever she had a conflict with Jian Yao, they always advised Jian Yao to be patient.
Thinking of Liu Yaozong, who was detained by the police, and looking at the middle-aged woman crying her eyes out.
This was a dramatic scene right from the start, showing how formidable she was.
It seemed like things wouldn’t be easy today.
Wu Yue’s heart skipped a beat, and he turned to look at Lu Chengze.
“Brother Lu? What do we do now?”
Lu Chengze sat in the back seat, his face as dark as a storm cloud.
Hearing Wu Yue’s words, he unbuckled his seatbelt and said coldly, “His son was wrong first. The company is taking legal action against him, it’s reasonable and fair. What’s there to be afraid of?”
Wu Yue knew the company’s actions were reasonable and legal, but this woman clearly wasn’t someone who would reason!
He was about to suggest that Lu Chengze shouldn’t take any action, and he would ask the security guards to take her away, when Lu Chengze had already opened the car door and got out.
Wu Yue felt a bad feeling in his heart, immediately stopped the car and got out.
Outside the car, Liu’s mother saw Lu Chengze getting out of the car, wearing a suit and tie, the quality of which was obviously excellent, unlike the suits worn by those white-collar workers she usually saw, who looked like real estate agents. She immediately crawled towards Lu Chengze, kneeling as she went.
“Mr. Lu, you must be Mr. Lu, right? My daughter has been with you for so long, she has no merit but she has worked hard! Please, for Yiyi’s sake, let my son go!”
These vulgar words made Lu Chengze frown, especially when he heard Liu’s mother mention Liu Yiyi, his frown deepened.
“Please get up first, let’s talk properly.”
It was a law-abiding society, kneeling and begging was not appropriate.
If people saw this, they would think that their Lu Corporation was some kind of bully!
Unfortunately, Lu Chengze underestimated the malice of human nature.
He was trying to help Liu’s mother up, but she grabbed his wrist and wailed even louder.
“Mr. Lu, our Yiyi has been with you for so many years without a name or status, you can’t be so ruthless!”
“We only asked you to get her a job, how could we have imagined that this would happen!”
Lu Corporation was located in a prime location in the bustling city center. The “hit-and-run” scene had already attracted the attention of many people, let alone the woman’s tearful cries.
Her voice, like a broken gong, echoed through the sky.
The office workers passing by, one after another, couldn’t help but turn their ears towards the commotion.
Wu Yue had just called the security captain, asking him to send someone over, when he turned his head and saw Lu Chengze being entangled by the woman, he immediately wanted to go over and help.
Just at that moment, a group of reporters, carrying long guns and short cannons, emerged from nowhere, instantly surrounding Lu Chengze and the others.
Wu Yue was sharp-eyed and saw several well-known reporters holding selfie sticks, seemingly live-streaming. He felt a chill run down his spine and wanted to rush in to warn Lu Chengze.
Unfortunately, these reporters were desperate to get the latest hot news, they were practically squeezing their heads, how could he, a latecomer, get through?
Through the crowd, he could still hear another middle-aged man’s mournful voice.
“Heaven help me! I’m an old man, I only have this one son. If I had known that your Lu Corporation was such a den of wolves, I would rather have him stay at home than let him enter Lu Corporation!”
