After Breaking Off the Engagement I Married a Rugged Mountain Man and Was Spoiled Like a Treasure in Three Days Chapter 27

Chapter 27

Tao Hua looked at the mirror in her hand, then at the man in front of her, and tears immediately fell uncontrollably from her eyes.

“I like it, I really like it. Brother Qin, why are you so good to me?” Tao Hua’s heart felt warm, and she immediately rushed into Qin Feng’s embrace.

Qin Feng, caught off guard, fell onto the bedding as the little wife leaned into him.

To prevent the overly excited little wife from rolling off him, he wrapped one arm around her waist.

This reminded him of the time when he had saved the little wife from the river.

At first, he had only noticed her slender waist, not thinking about anything else.

But when he pulled her out of the water, he saw her light, thin clothes drenched by the river.

And underneath, her porcelain-like body.

Qin Feng suddenly felt a heat rising in him, and his large hand slowly moved upwards.

He caressed her, tugging at her collar.

However, the little wife wasn’t in the mood for that today. She suddenly sat up straight and, with a serious expression, started discussing with Qin Feng:

“Brother Qin, I think you’re right. Since ancient times, it’s always been that men handle the outside and women manage the inside. I think I should be in charge of our household’s finances in the future. Although I really like this mirror, you’re being too wasteful. We can’t buy things like this anymore.”

“Okay, you can manage it.” Qin Feng casually agreed, clearly not really listening to the little wife.

His mind was still on fire with desire. When the little wife got off the bed to find a place to put the mirror, he followed closely behind.

Later, Tao Hua, unable to hold onto the mirror, accidentally let it fall to the ground with a clatter.

She gasped and immediately bit her lip, watching the flickering candlelight on the table sway in the breeze…

Another long night left her sore, and the next morning, Tao Hua woke up late again.

She had anticipated this might happen, so the night before, she had already informed her husband.

She had hoped Qin Feng would call her when he woke up in the morning, but it seemed he had forgotten.

By the time she opened her eyes, the sky was already bright.

Tao Hua felt it wasn’t good for her to keep sleeping in, so she hurriedly got out of bed and put on her clothes.

But just as she was about to open the door, she suddenly heard voices outside—Qin Feng was talking with a man.

With another man outside and not having washed up yet, Tao Hua felt embarrassed to go out, so she stayed inside.

The man’s voice sounded familiar, like it was the father of Zhuzi from the village.

But how could Zhuzi’s father be so familiar with Qin Feng? Why would he be at the Qin house so early in the morning?

Tao Hua, curious, quietly opened a crack in the window and peeked outside.

In the yard, Qin Feng was preparing to get a chair for Zhuzi’s father to sit on.

But Zhuzi’s father refused, hurriedly waving his hand and saying, “No need to bother, no need to bother. I just came to tell you something and then I’ll leave!

You know last spring, our neighboring village had a flood, right? I heard that it wasn’t just our area, but several other places were flooded too, and the damage was really severe.

The county magistrate is very concerned about this. They said it’s some kind of flood warning, what was it called again? Oh, right, it’s called Lingxun.

Anyway, it’s something the county sent down. It seems they want the men from our village to go dig the riverbank. The village head wants every household to send someone, so I came to ask you.

Your family is the last one in the village, so if you’re going, you should come now. Everyone else is probably already there, and as soon as everyone gathers, the village head will announce this.”

“Alright, wait for me. I’ll go get dressed.” Qin Feng had been busy since he got up in the morning and hadn’t even put on a winter coat.

Zhuzi’s father, still in his cotton coat, was already shivering from the cold.

He looked at Qin Feng and both praised and envied him: “Your build is really something, so tall and strong. You must be burning with warmth, huh? You don’t seem cold at all.”

Qin Feng’s face showed little expression, and his tone was calm as he replied, “I just chopped some firewood. You still need to wear clothes when going out.”

Zhuzi’s father sighed and said, “Then you hurry and get dressed, I’ll wait for you right here.”

Qin Feng nodded and quickly walked back to the house.

However, as soon as he opened the door, he saw his little wife already standing there, holding his winter coat, waiting for him.

“Here, Brother Qin, your coat.”

Qin Feng took the coat and glanced at her, saying, “I was going to come in and tell you, but I guess you’ve already heard, huh?”

Tao Hua nodded and, after thinking for a moment, asked, “Brother Qin, can I go with you?”

“What’s the matter?” Qin Feng asked while putting on his clothes. “Don’t you want to stay home alone?”

Tao Hua nodded again, her eyes full of sadness, like a pitiful little puppy.

“I just want to be with you. Is that alright?”

As she spoke, Tao Hua stepped forward to help Qin Feng fasten his coat.

Listening to the soft, sweet voice of his little wife, how could he refuse?

“Alright, then I’ll go tell Zhuzi’s father.”

After Qin Feng went out, it wasn’t long before Tao Hua heard Zhuzi’s father saying:

“Alright, once you’re done, hurry over. I’ll be heading out now.”
