Tang is my Obsession Chapter 30

Chapter 30

Shen Chutang let out a soft chuckle, putting down her book. “What’s wrong, Second Brother?”

Shen Sichen tossed his keys on the table and sat down, pouring himself a glass of cold water and gulping it down. But he turned to her and asked, “Tangtang, usually… when Chengyu makes you angry, how do you get him to apologize?”

His current earnest desire to learn was completely different from the angry person who had just been yelling. Shen Chutang hadn’t expected him to ask such a “cowardly” question after his outburst.

Shen Chutang asked, “Who did you make angry?”

Shen Sichen said, “No, I’m asking for a friend.” But his fingers were twirling his cup, looking distracted.

Shen Chutang had heard Xie Tong mention that this was called “making up a friend.” But seeing his troubled expression, Shen Chutang decided to kindly answer for his friend.

“Second Brother, I don’t know the situation with your friend, but Brother Chengyu rarely makes me angry. And even if he does, it’s quickly resolved. He never lets the problem linger until the next day.”

“So, what does he usually do?” Shen Sichen asked.

Shen Chutang tapped her chin with her pen, thinking. “It depends on the specific situation. Different things have different solutions. The most important thing is to find the root of the problem and then solve it.”

“But I always ask her why she’s unhappy, how she can stop being angry, how she can forgive me. She never tells me.”

Shen Sichen’s voice was laced with anger, his words gritted out. His lifetime of patience seemed to have been spent on this, even Shen Chutang wasn’t this difficult to appease.

Shen Chutang was surprised, unable to imagine Shen Sichen acting so humble. She held up a finger and waved it back and forth. “Second Brother, Brother Chengyu never asks me what to do.”

“He just tries things one by one until I’m satisfied. You’re the one who did wrong, why should she find solutions for you?”

Shen Sichen fell silent for a while, as if thinking about something. He asked, “Then… why does she always bring up past things?”

“If something is repeatedly brought up, it means it wasn’t properly resolved in the first place. She hasn’t gotten over that hurdle yet.” Shen Chutang said seriously, “Second Brother, even though I haven’t met her, I guess she probably likes you.”

“You two have argued so many times and haven’t broken up, there must be something keeping you together.”

Arguments haven’t driven them apart, it means the love in their hearts outweighs the anger and sadness during the arguments.

“A broken door can be replaced, it’s just a door. But people are different. Some people might only meet one special person in their lifetime.”

Shen Sichen’s hand froze, but he suddenly looked up at her. “When did you, a little kid, become so wise?”

Wise? It’s just that Chengyu sometimes talks to me and I remember what he says.

“I’m not a little kid anymore, I’m almost seventeen. Next year I’ll be eighteen.”

Old enough to date.

Shen Sichen ruffled her hair messily. “Little kid pretending to be an adult.”

“Hmph!” Shen Chutang dodged away, fixing her hair. “I’m not!”

“Second Brother, aren’t you going to eat? You’re leaving again?”

“I have something to do. Let Chengyu come back and eat with you!” As soon as Shen Sichen finished speaking, a door slamming sound followed.

Shen Chutang shook her head with a smile, curious to know who had made Shen Sichen taste the bitterness of love.

But she hadn’t expected them to meet so soon. On Saturday, Shen Sichen was home resting, while Shi Chengyu was abroad attending a business meeting. Shen Chutang didn’t go with him because she hated the heat.

After dinner, Shen Sichen pressed her onto the sofa to watch TV, glaring at him angrily.

Shen Sichen clicked his tongue. “What’s gotten into you, girl? I’ve never seen you so eager to study before. How come your grades have gotten worse since you started high school?”

“That doesn’t mean you should just sit around and study all day. Or do you want to fight me for the family fortune?” Shen Sichen said playfully, ruffling her hair and pinching her cheeks.

Shen Sichen hadn’t paid attention to her school grades. Seeing her suddenly studying so hard, he just thought she was under some kind of pressure.

“You’re so annoying! I’m studying, I’m not doing something bad! I don’t want to, I still have a physics test to finish!” Shen Chutang was a little angry, using both hands to pry his arms apart, but they wouldn’t budge.

“Tangtang, aren’t you tired? You study from morning to noon, noon to evening, now it’s dark and you’re still studying?”

Shen Sichen really didn’t understand, did studying require this much effort? When he was in high school, he just listened to lectures, sometimes he didn’t even listen, and he still made it into the top three in the school.

“Tell your brother, did something happen at school?” Shen Sichen said seriously, a rare occurrence.

Shen Chutang rubbed her pinched cheek. “No!”

It’s just that she feels uneasy if she doesn’t study.

Shen Sichen was about to say something else when his phone suddenly rang. It was Jiang Younian.

“Hello? What’s up?”

Jiang Younian’s voice came from the other end of the phone. “We’re going to A Jin’s place tonight to celebrate, did you forget?”

As soon as Shen Chutang heard that he was going out, her eyes instantly brightened, rolling around with mischief.

“I’m not going tonight, I’m going to stay home and keep Tangtang company.” Shen Sichen said with a smile, watching Shen Chutang’s mood instantly plummet, he felt happy.

“Don’t be like that. This was planned for you, what’s the point of playing without you?” Jiang Younian clicked his tongue, then suddenly said, “Hey, no, bring Tangtang with you, it’s your own place, it’s clean.”

Ah? She doesn’t want to go.

Shen Chutang pointed at herself, then waved to Shen Sichen, indicating that she didn’t want to go.

Shen Sichen smiled mischievously, “Okay, Tangtang agreed.”

“Hey! I didn’t!” Shen Chutang shouted anxiously, but Shen Sichen had already hung up the phone.

“Let’s go, brother will take you to have some fun today, lest you turn into a bookworm at home.”

Shen Sichen grabbed her by the back of her neck and pulled her out, afraid she would find excuses to refuse, he directly dragged her to the car. The car sped off, the roar of the engine was loud and sharp. When the car finally stopped, Shen Chutang was still sitting in the back seat in a daze, her hands tightly gripping the seatbelt.

Shen Sichen opened the car door, “Let’s go.”

Shen Chutang looked up at him in a daze, good, she’s still alive.

Shen Sichen ruffled her hair, “Why is our Tangtang so cute?”

He pulled her out of the car and held her hand, “Stay close to your brother, you’ll cry if you get lost.”

“You’re the one who’ll cry!” Shen Chutang snorted, following him through the gate. She saw the dim, colorful lights inside and walked a few steps forward.

They walked through the lobby, Shen Sichen led her straight upstairs and opened the door to the private room. Everyone inside stood up and called him “Brother Chen” one after another.

Shen Chutang felt like this scene was straight out of a gangster movie… she hid behind Shen Sichen.
