Tang is my Obsession Chapter 62

Chapter 62

“It’s boring, I need to find something to talk about.”

Shen Sichen snorted, “You’re really good at chatting.”

“What kind of connection could we have? You’re avoiding me like the plague.”

“Have you let go, Second Brother?” Shen Chutang asked again.

“Let go?” Shen Sichen laughed self-deprecatingly, asking her, “Can you let go of Shi Chengyu now?”

Of course not.

Shen Chutang wanted to ask something else, but Shen Sichen directly broke off a branch of Endless Summer and placed it on her lap, “Alright, stop asking. If you ask again, I’ll cry.”

He was the one who was sweet, and now she was poking at his heart.

This was indeed something he would do. Shen Chutang smiled, “Okay, then, Second Brother, can you send me back to my room?”

“Okay.”

Shen Sichen pushed her back to her room. As they reached the living room, they ran into Shi Chengyu and Shen Yanheng coming downstairs. Shen Chutang casually handed the flower to Shi Chengyu, “Brother Chengyu, I didn’t give you a flower yesterday.”

You’re supposed to give flowers when you confess.

She smiled brightly. Shi Chengyu was stunned for a moment and subconsciously took it.

Shen Yanheng patted his shoulder, “Tangtang gave it to you, so accept it.”

Shen Sichen angrily rubbed Shen Chutang’s head, “Hey! I gave it to you just now.”

How could she just give it to someone else? What was he squatting down and pulling for just now? Did he have a lot of strength?

Shen Chutang smiled back, “Second Brother, I’ll give you one later.”

Shen Sichen pushed her into the elevator, “Big Brother, take him away quickly.”

He was so annoyed.

Shen Chutang’s soft laughter came from the elevator, along with Shen Sichen’s dissatisfied complaints.

“Chengyu, let’s go.”

The driver hadn’t arrived yet. Shi Chengyu walked outside with Shen Yanheng.

Shen Yanheng said, “Do you know why I agreed to Mom and Dad’s suggestion to let you take care of Tangtang?”

The night was lonely. Only the sound of their footsteps echoed on the road.

Shen Yanheng answered his own question, “Tangtang had a bit of a temper when she was little. She was very moody.”

He said, remembering Shen Chutang when she was little, and they both laughed.

“One time, it was summer, and Tangtang had her first period. Her stomach hurt, and her temper got even worse. The new maid didn’t know and made her noodles. She slammed her chopsticks down right then and there.”

Memories flowed back, and the scene became clearer. Shen Chutang was thirteen at the time, and Shi Chengyu had already joined the Shi Group. To be honest, Shen Yanheng was still a little worried, because they weren’t little kids anymore.

“I yelled at her, but you held her in your arms and gently coaxed her. You frowned then. Now that I think about it, it wasn’t because Tangtang had a bad temper, but because you were unhappy that I yelled at her, right?”

Shen Yanheng finally realized today. They looked at each other at the same time, and the answer was obvious.

He now suspected that if he hadn’t been Shen Chutang’s big brother, Shi Chengyu would have come over and kicked him.

“Later, after I calmed down, I went to find you. You had already calmed her down and were quietly reasoning with her, telling her that Big Brother didn’t mean it. You also had someone send over some food. I thought then that you would definitely take good care of her.”

He never just pampered Shen Chutang. She was spoiled, but not arrogant. He nurtured her spoiled nature and taught her right from wrong.

“I remember you had a tough time during that period.” At the age of nineteen, he entered the Shi Group. It wasn’t easy to gain everyone’s respect, and he faced many difficulties.

“I’ve seen you handle things. You’re not without a temper. In fact, you’re sometimes strict beyond belief.”

“But you never seem to bring your bad mood around Tangtang. You’ve always been tolerant and supportive of her, no matter what she does. Thinking back, you never seem to have lost your temper with her.”

“I used to think your affection for Tangtang was that of a brother for his sister. I even hinted at you to not have any impure thoughts about her.”

But he didn’t expect that he had already had those impure thoughts, and he had hidden them so well.

“Chengyu, I never thought you felt this way about Tangtang.”

But in the back of his mind, his affection for Shen Chutang had always gone beyond what a neighborly brother should do. But he had to admit that Shi Chengyu had done a good job.

Perhaps he had hidden it too well before, or perhaps his feelings had changed later. Shen Yanheng was surprised when he found out, but thinking about it, he felt that it should have been this way.

Shi Chengyu had such a strong presence in Shen Chutang’s life. Seventeen years of daily companionship, Shen Chutang had already considered him a part of her life. It was only natural for her to like him.

But Shen Yanheng didn’t know that it was the same for Shi Chengyu.

“Before, I was narrow-minded. Now, I think I can still confidently entrust Tangtang to you, in a different capacity.” The car slowly stopped in front of them. Shen Yanheng stopped. He said again, “Chengyu, some things are hard to come by. Cherish them.”

Shi Chengyu nodded solemnly. He knew better than anyone how hard-won this was, “I understand, Big Brother.”

Shen Yanheng got into the car, “Okay, go back quickly.”

Holding the Endless Summer in his hand, the branches were warm from his palm. Shi Chengyu looked at the night sky and smiled.

“Chengyu, you’re back.”

“Yes, Mom. You guys haven’t slept yet?”

Xue Wanyu went to the door to greet him, “Come here. I have something for you.”

Shi Chengyu followed her upstairs and watched Xue Wanyu take out a wooden box.

“This, this was given to me by your grandma when your dad and I got married. Now that you have someone you like, I’m giving it to you.”

“Tangtang is a good girl, and she’s the Shen family’s precious daughter. You can’t bully her, no matter what, understand?”

“You’ve always made your own decisions and been independent, but dating and marriage are things for two people. Tangtang is young. You need to be more tolerant of her. But also remember what your Uncle Shen said. If one day you don’t like her anymore, don’t force it.”

“I won’t.” Shi Chengyu agreed quickly, staring at the wooden box in his hand, lost in thought.

He was more dependent on Shen Chutang than anyone else, and he couldn’t accept that he would one day not love Shen Chutang.

If that day ever came, he would end his own life before it happened.

This thought was too extreme. He lowered his head, hiding the thoughts in his eyes.

Xue Wanyu smiled, “You’ve become an unreasonable fool. Okay, Mom believes you. But also remember, love others, but don’t wrong yourself.”

“Yes.”

“Alright, your dad is waiting for you in the study.”

“Okay, Mom, you go to bed early.”

Shi Chengyu went back to his room first. He trimmed the flowers and put them in a vase, then put the box away before going to the study.

He knocked on the door and went in, “Dad.”

Shi Hexun was sitting in a chair, drunk. He snorted when he saw him, “You stinky boy, you got what you wanted?”

Shi Chengyu said, “Thank you, Dad.”

“What are you thanking me for? I’m your dad. But next time, can you tell me beforehand so I can prepare? But there probably won’t be a next time.”

Shi Chengyu smiled faintly, “There won’t be a next time.”

“You stinky boy, you’re much smarter than your old dad. I don’t have much to teach you. Gengli and Yanheng have talked to you, and your mom probably told you too.”

“But Tangtang came to see me today. Guess what she told me?”

Shi Chengyu looked at him, his eyes asking.
