Tang is my Obsession Chapter 64

Chapter 64

Shen Chutang had never imagined that her birthday would be so tiring. She thought that turning eighteen wouldn’t be anything special, but the next day, her three brothers’ assistants and secretaries came with a stack of documents for her to sign.

There were too many people, and they were all sitting on the sofa in a line. After a while, Lin Shulang arrived. He was surprised to see the scene and sat down next to Weicuan.

Weicuan: “Why are you here?”

Lin Shulang smiled, “Mr. Shi’s orders.”

The documents in his hand felt like they weighed a thousand pounds. Lin Shulang held them, not daring to let go for a second.

“Why are there so many? How long will it take to sign them all!” Shen Chutang complained loudly, rubbing her sore wrist.

Secretary Chen smiled apologetically and patiently pointed to the signature line, “Miss Shen, you’re working hard. We’ll be done soon. And here.”

But just as he finished, Weicuan came over with another stack of documents.

Shen Chutang sighed, rubbing her wrist, “What’s this? Let me rest for a bit before we continue.”

“Miss, so many people would kill for this opportunity.” Weicuan’s personality was like Shen Sichen’s. He liked to tease people.

Shen Chutang smiled at him, “Then it’s yours.”

Weicuan opened the pen cap and handed it to her, “I wouldn’t dare, Miss. You need to hurry up. Shulang is waiting too.”

Only then did Shen Chutang see that Lin Shulang had arrived and was sitting on the sofa waiting, his smile a bit stiff.

There was no way around it. Shen Chutang had to pick up the pen again. She didn’t even look at the documents, which were about shares and houses. She signed wherever Weicuan pointed.

Another stack was finished, and Weicuan teased her again, “It’s a good thing you’re family. If you were outside, Miss, you couldn’t sign like this.”

Weicuan left with the documents. Shi Chengyu happened to come over. He nodded in greeting and stepped aside.

Shi Chengyu sat next to her and rubbed her hands, “Tired?”

“Tired, very tired.” Shen Chutang lazily leaned against him. She had been woken up early, first by Shen Sujing, who was in a hurry to leave and urged her to sign, then by Big Brother and Second Brother.

“What are you doing here, joining the fun?”

Shi Chengyu hugged her, “What do you mean joining the fun? Can’t I come?”

“You’re already got what you wanted, and this is your attitude?”

Shi Chengyu was unhappy. He pinched her cheek, put her back in the chair, handed her the pen, and flipped through the documents, pointing to a place, “Here, sign your name.”

“How dare I, Brother Chengyu. I’ll sign, okay?”

Shen Chutang smiled ingratiatingly and picked up the pen again. Of all the documents, Shi Chengyu’s was the thickest. She had been signing for half an hour and was only halfway through.

“Why haven’t you finished signing yet? Didn’t Weicuan bring them all up?” Shen Sichen came down the stairs, puzzled.

Shen Chutang took the opportunity to stop writing, “There’s still Brother Chengyu’s.”

Shen Sichen walked over and picked up a signed document at random. He looked at it over and over three times before confirming that he wasn’t mistaken. He asked in shock, “These are Shi Group shares? The contract is wrong.”

What surprised him wasn’t that Shi Chengyu was giving her shares, but that he was giving her 41%.

He knew that apart from some unrecoverable scattered shares, Shi Chengyu held 80% of the shares. He could give Shen Chutang 30%, or 40%, but he chose 41%.

That extra one percent was an astronomical sum even if it were given separately. But it was an extra one percent on top of an equal basis.

“Have you thought it through?” Shen Sichen handed the document to Shi Chengyu, his tone serious.

Shi Chengyu placed the document on the table, “Yes, I’ve thought it through a long time ago.”

“What?” Shen Chutang looked up, confused.

Shen Sichen patted her head, “It’s nothing. Let Shulang help you. Chengyu, come with me.”

“Oh.”

Shen Chutang responded faintly and watched them leave.

Shen Sichen took him to the study and closed the door.

“Chengyu, we don’t oppose you being with Tangtang, but have you really thought this through?”

Shi Chengyu remembered something and smiled softly, “Second Brother, I decided this a long time ago.”

Shen Sichen sighed, “You don’t need to go this far. Tangtang won’t dislike you if you don’t give her this. She won’t like you more if you do. She’s never lacked these things.”

“Yes. Tangtang doesn’t lack anything, but this is my guarantee for her. I know she doesn’t care about these things, but I want her to live well. No matter what, even if one day I’m not by her side, she can still live happily.”

Shen Sichen was about to say something else, but then he heard Shi Chengyu speak, “Just like Second Brother has always been sending money to Miss Zhou.”

They both wanted to give the best to the person they loved.

Shen Sichen was speechless. But this meant that Shen Chutang would become the largest shareholder of the Shi Group. So he asked,

“Do Uncle and Aunt know?”

Shi Chengyu said, “They know. They agree.”

Shen Sichen had been worried about Shen Chutang being deceived before, but now he was starting to worry about Shi Chengyu. “Chengyu, you and Tangtang have grown up together. She’s never been patient. At five, she liked singing, and she learned for half a year. At seven, she wanted to learn to dance, but she gave up on the first day because she was afraid of pain. At ten, she learned to draw, and she only lasted ten months. She never learned again.”

“She learns quickly, but she can’t stick to anything for long. She’s never stuck with anything she likes for a year. Chengyu, aren’t you afraid?”

It was impossible to say he wasn’t afraid. Just thinking about it made his heart ache. Shi Chengyu was silent for a long time, “I am afraid.”

“But it doesn’t matter. I believe in Tangtang, and I believe in her feelings for me.”

Shen Sichen still wanted to persuade him. He said, “You don’t need to give her so much. At least you should be holding the majority of the shares.”

Shi Chengyu just smiled, his voice clear, “Tangtang is always first in my heart, and she’s always free.”

Shen Sichen was shocked and stunned. All the fragmented memories in his mind surfaced.

That’s right. Shen Chutang always sat in the main seat at meals, and he always let her walk ahead, falling back half a step and following behind. He always bent down and looked at her when talking to her.

He seemed to have no bottom line in front of Shen Chutang. No, it was because his bottom line was Shen Chutang.

He had always been showing everyone, through his actions, that in his eyes, Shen Chutang was always more precious than him. He never thought that a little girl riding on his head was something shameful.

Shen Sichen suddenly felt a little ashamed. He wasn’t as good as Shi Chengyu.

“Sigh…” Shen Sichen smiled helplessly, “Tangtang must have been blessed in her past life.”

He was even a little envious.

“Second Brother, I’m the one who’s gained something.” Shi Chengyu said.

He said he had gained something. There was no falseness in his words. Instead, he smiled contentedly.

“What are you guys talking about?”

Shen Chutang pushed open the door and wanted to run over, but Shi Chengyu walked over to stop her, “Slow down, don’t run.”

“What are you talking about, whispering like that?” Shen Chutang looked up at him, pulling his hand, wanting to tease him.

“Nothing.”

Shen Sichen teased her, “What could it be? Celebrating you becoming the major shareholder of the Shi Group, Boss Shen.”

“Ah?” Shen Chutang’s eyes widened in surprise.

When? How did she not know?
