Tang is my Obsession Chapter 66

Chapter 66

Shi Tingyue kept praising her, “Young girls should eat more. Don’t worry about being thin. Girls look good no matter what.”

Shen Chutang smiled shyly. Just then, Shi Chengyu was praising her for being amazing, and even though it was commonplace, she still blushed.

They didn’t stop praising her until the meal was finally over.

“This young lady seems nice. She’s not shy at all.” After they left, Shi Siang sat on the sofa and sighed.

“Of course, she’s from a good family. She’s well-bred. Chengyu seems to really like her. In all these years, I’ve never seen him bend over and bow to anyone like that, not even Hexun.”

Shi Hexun laughed at his brother’s teasing, “He really likes her. He brought her home as soon as he turned eighteen, afraid she’d run away.”

He had brought her home just after her birthday yesterday.

Shi Siang was surprised, “Oh! She’s only eighteen? I thought she just looked young, but she really is young.”

Shi Hexun said, “Of course. The young lady just turned eighteen yesterday.”

Shi Siang laughed, “That’s…that’s a bit beastly.” After a while, he said, “He probably takes after his father.”

The living room was filled with laughter. Shi Hexun had done the same thing back then. He had pursued his wife as soon as he turned eighteen, and they got married as soon as they reached the legal age. They had Shi Chengyu in the first year. Xue Wanyu had a difficult labor when she gave birth to Shi Chengyu, so they only had one child.

Now Shi Chengyu was doing the same thing, a kind of “following in his father’s footsteps.”

The atmosphere was warm and happy in the house. In the car, Shen Chutang leaned against Shi Chengyu’s shoulder, closing her eyes to rest, “I really have become the little pig Second Brother said. I get sleepy after eating.”

Shi Chengyu rubbed her stomach, “No, it’s my fault. I made Tangtang eat too much.”

He saw that she was in a good mood today, and so many people were praising her, so he couldn’t help but give her extra food. As a result, she was full.

“Are you still full? If not, I’ll ask Luo Yang to prescribe some medicine later.”

Shen Chutang quickly shook her head, “No, no. Medicine isn’t as good as Brother Chengyu’s hands.”

Shi Chengyu chuckled softly. His hands hadn’t stopped moving since they got in the car, “Okay.”

They were supposed to go to the hospital today. Shen Chutang’s leg needed a checkup. It wasn’t serious, but they were still worried about any lingering effects.

Shen Chutang’s biggest fear was taking medicine and getting injections. The second was going to the hospital. When she was little, she would cling to people tightly every time she came, saying that the white coats in the hospital were like white ghosts.

But Shi Chengyu would always coax her, saying they were angels who saved people. They had been there so many times, and every time she went, she got better. So she shouldn’t think of it as a bad place.

Gradually, Shen Chutang got used to it. But she went less often later. First, her body slowly recovered. Second, she would just call the doctor to the house for minor ailments. Except for her annual physical, she only went to the hospital for special situations like this.

After getting out of the car, Shi Chengyu opened the door and wanted to carry her out, but Shen Chutang waved her hand in refusal, “Brother Chengyu, I want to walk around and digest.”

Shi Chengyu said regretfully, “Then hold hands.”

Needless to say, they would hold hands. Shen Chutang took his arm, “Okay.”

The cast on Shen Chutang’s leg had only been removed a few days ago. Ideally, she should have worn it for a while longer, but she found it uncomfortable. She pouted and her eyes welled up. She took it off after only a month.

“Miss Shen, you’re back.” Luo Yang heard the nurse bring her in and put his pen back in his pocket.

“Hello, Doctor Luo.” Shen Chutang greeted him. She wasn’t afraid of doctors anymore, but she was still a little apprehensive when she saw Luo Yang because she had to get blood drawn every time she saw him.

Shi Chengyu helped her sit down on the sofa. He glanced at Luo Yang, “Don’t scare her.”

“Okay.” Luo Yang smiled, “Wait here for a while. I’ll have someone arrange for the checkup.”

The checkup was quick. She had recovered well, but she still couldn’t run, jump, or stand for long periods.

After listening to a long list of instructions, it was finally over. Shi Chengyu hugged her and walked out, saying that Shen Chutang had already stood for a long time today.

The reason was good enough, so Shen Chutang was carried into the car and then carried out of the car.

She spent another half a month recovering at home and finally waited for school to start.

Xie Tong heard that she had been out for two months. She hadn’t come back since Shen Chutang’s birthday.

She thought she wouldn’t see Xie Tong on the first day back, but as soon as she got out of the car, she saw Xie Tong waiting there.

“Tangtang! I’m here to pick you up!”

Xie Tong ran over to her, “I’ll carry you upstairs!”

Shen Chutang looked at her rolling up her sleeves and couldn’t help but laugh, “You don’t have that chance.”

Then she turned to Shi Chengyu, “Brother Chengyu, go to work. Xie Tong and I will go in together.”

Shi Chengyu rubbed her head, “Okay. Call me if you need anything.”

After he left, Xie Tong became bolder. She took Shen Chutang’s schoolbag and put her arm around her shoulder, “Why not? I can carry you.”

Shen Chutang said, “You really forgot everything when you were having fun. First, my leg is almost completely healed. Second, our class changed seats. We moved to the first floor.”

“Oh! I left my bag upstairs. I was wondering why there were so many unfamiliar faces in the class.” Xie Tong wanted to pull her to run, but she stopped immediately when she remembered her leg.

“You don’t read the news at all. Did you have fun?” Shen Chutang asked her.

Xie Tong answered without hesitation, “Of course I did. The world outside is so beautiful.”

They entered the classroom. Xie Tong sent Shen Chutang back to her seat and went upstairs to get her bag.

Xie Tong leaned against her side, propping her head with her hand. Her tone was uncharacteristically serious, “Tangtang, I really envy you.”

“Ah?” Shen Chutang was slightly surprised, “What do you envy me for?”

“I envy you for being able to do whatever you want and having so many brothers.” Xie Tong said earnestly, her expression tinged with sadness.

Shen Chutang became serious too, “What’s wrong? Did something happen to you?”

Otherwise, how could someone so optimistic suddenly become so sad?

Xie Tong leaned on the desk. Her muffled voice came out, “Tangtang, I don’t want to inherit the family business. I don’t want to be a businesswoman.”

Xie Tong was an only child. Shen Chutang suddenly understood something.

“Did Uncle Xie say something to you?” Shen Chutang leaned over, her hand stroking her back.

“My dad wants me to join the company after the college entrance exam, but I don’t want to. I don’t want to study business administration, and I don’t want to join the company.”

Xie Tong turned her head, “I want to see the world, travel the world, eat all the delicious food in the world, not be trapped in the company.”

“That’s not what I want.”
