Chapter 60: Slim in Clothes, Muscular Without Clothes
Ye Xin Ran was startled.
She quickly looked in the direction of the voice and was met with another breath taking scene.
Under the moonlight, a man stood there, completely naked. His broad back was strong and defined, with each muscle perfectly sculpted.
Ye Xin Ran’s gaze moved from the top down, passing over his waist, which was free of any excess fat, and finally resting on the man’s firm, well-rounded backside.
It turned out that a man’s backside could look this good!
Ye Xin Ran politely glanced a couple more times, when suddenly something flashed.
Xiao Huai’an quickly wrapped a white cloth around his waist.
“I…” Ye Xin Ran wanted to explain that she hadn’t meant to see this, but Xiao Huai’an spoke before her: “Sorry, I thought you were already asleep.”
“Oh, I was about to sleep, but then I remembered I needed to go to the kitchen to get something.”
As she spoke, Ye Xin Ran glanced again at Xiao Huai’an’s solid arms.
This man definitely belonged to the type of “slim in clothes, muscular without them.”
When he wore clothes, his physique was hidden, but now, seeing him without them, she couldn’t help but appreciate how good it looked.
The thought that such a physique was only for her eyes made Ye Xin Ran feel quite pleased.
It was just a pity that he had his own… issues.
Xiao Huai’an noticed her gaze and didn’t continue to cover himself. Instead, he asked, “What do you need? I’ll get it for you.”
“I just need a small jar, to store something.” Ye Xin Ran said quietly.
“Okay, wait here.”
After saying that, Xiao Huai’an took long strides toward the kitchen.
Watching his back, Ye Xin Ran felt even more satisfied.
Although she could only look, it was still nice to feast her eyes on such a handsome man.
Just as she was thinking, a loud clattering sound came from the kitchen, as though something had fallen to the floor.
“What happened?”
Ye Xin Ran quickly took a couple of steps forward.
Xiao Huai’an’s voice came from inside: “It’s nothing, don’t come in.”
After a moment, he walked out from the kitchen.
“Is this what you wanted?” Xiao Huai’an asked, holding up a porcelain jar.
“Yes, that’s it.”
Ye Xin Ran quickly took the item from him. “Thank you, sorry to trouble you. Did you hurt yourself earlier? Is everything alright?”
She examined Xiao Huai’an from head to toe.
“No!” Xiao Huai’an replied, clenching his left fist.
Ye Xin Ran immediately noticed his movement and grabbed his left hand. To her surprise, blood was flowing from the palm.
“How did this happen?”
Xiao Huai’an replied, “It was an accident, just a small wound…”
“You’re bleeding! How is that just a small wound?” Ye Xin Ran said, her voice filled with concern. Instinctively, she pulled out iodine and some gauze from her space. As she treated his wound, she continued, “You have to be more careful. I should have been more careful too. I shouldn’t have gone to the kitchen this late.”
Then she paused, thinking. “Wait, it was my fault for not putting the knife away properly after I finished cooking. Did you accidentally touch it on the edge of the counter?”
She recalled that she had carelessly placed the knife there while cooking and later forgot to clean up.
It must have been too dim in the kitchen, and Xiao Huai’an didn’t see it.
“I’m tough, this little cut is nothing. Fortunately, you didn’t go in there yourself,” Xiao Huai’an said.
Hearing that, Ye Xin Ran felt even more guilty. She carefully continued to treat his injury, even tying a neat bow on the back of his hand with the gauze.
Xiao Huai’an looked down at her, his eyes following her long, fluttering eyelashes, which resembled butterfly wings in the moonlight. Before he realized it, he became mesmerized.
“Uh, I usually carry these things with me,” Ye Xin Ran said as she finished.
Afterward, she realized she had been too rushed and had just taken something from her space without thinking.
Surprisingly, Xiao Huai’an didn’t question her but instead said, “Luckily, you had them with you. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to treat this wound.”
Ye Xin Ran felt a bit embarrassed, holding the bottle in one hand while pointing toward her room with the other. “Then… I’ll go back now?”
“Mm, it’s getting cold at night. You should go back,” Xiao Huai’an said, watching her walk back to her room.
Only when he saw her shut the door did Xiao Huai’an raise his left hand, looking at it in the moonlight.
How could she carry all these things inside her night gown?
But since Ye Xin Ran didn’t want to explain, he didn’t press her.
They each had their own secrets, and right now, not interfering with each other seemed pretty good.
He glanced at the butterfly knot on his hand.
It seemed… kind of cute!
Ye Xin Ran returned to her room, locked the door, and entered the space again.
Xiao Huai’an must have noticed something was off earlier, but why didn’t he ask?
Ye Xin Ran couldn’t figure it out.
She shook her head and decided to put the matter aside for now.
She walked over to the reaction vessel, carefully scooping out every last bit of the ointment inside.
The last batch was a little small, and this batch barely covered the bottom of the jar.
However, this ointment was enough to restore half of her face.
When the next batch was ready, she could use a bit more, and her face would return to normal.
After cleaning the production equipment, she took half of the Ice Spirit Flower that Xiao Huai’an brought back today, prepared the ingredients, and placed them into the reaction vessel. She set the production time and pressed the switch, causing the machine to start running again.
This batch of ingredients was enough to produce 10 bottles of the Snow Skin Ointment, which could treat her face for over twenty rounds.
This meant that she finally had a way to make money in this dynasty.
Ye Xin Ran went to her resting area, turned on the shower, and took a thorough bath. Afterward, she applied a thin layer of Snow Skin Ointment to the left side of her face.
The ointment was fine and smooth, with a pleasant fragrance and a calming effect.
Once she finished preparing, she quickly lay down on her small bed and fell asleep.
The next day, she was awakened by the alarm clock.
She scrambled up and quickly exited the space, just in time to see Chang An flipping over in bed. He had flipped from the foot of the bed to the head and bumped his head against the wooden railing.
“Why can’t you just sleep peacefully?” Ye Xin Ran said, pulling Chang An over and settling him on the pillow. But because of the pain, Chang An opened his drowsy eyes.
“Aunt, who bullied you? Why is there something like… poop on your face?”
He groggily reached up to touch Ye Xin Ran’s face.
Then he quickly pulled his hand back and sniffed it. “Hey? Why does this poop smell so good?”
“Nonsense!” Ye Xin Ran slapped his hand away and pointed at her face. “This is medicine, not poop!”
“Oh, it’s medicine?” Chang An breathed a sigh of relief.
He had just dreamed that they were making traps with poop water.
It was all because of that dream that he mistook it!
“Aunt, are we going to the city today?”
After the commotion, Chang An couldn’t sleep anymore. He opened his big eyes and asked Ye Xin Ran.
