Chapter 6: Going to the Horse Tying Manor to See Master
“Someone, slap her!” Tang Chuying commanded the people behind her to hit Mo Zhu, flaunting her status as the eldest daughter.
Soon, two maidservants held Mo Zhu on either side, and one of them began to slap her.
“Mo Zhu, remember this lesson! If you dare to defy your elder sister again, I will not spare you!”
Every word Tang Chuying said raised the hatred towards Tang Chuyao, and as a result, Mo Zhu was punished but held a grudge against Tang Chuyao.
Tang Chuyao didn’t care about Mo Zhu’s thoughts; she had plenty of ways to tame her.
Tang Chuying thought Tang Chuyao would definitely call for a stop, but to her surprise, Tang Chuyao sat at the table, drinking tea and watching, showing no intention of stopping.
Looking at Mo Zhu’s swollen face, with loose teeth and blood everywhere, Tang Chuying realized that if this continued, Mo Zhu would be ruined!
Tang Chuying raised her hand to signal the maidservants to stop, looking at Mo Zhu with an expressionless face, saying, “I believe you will remember this lesson after today. Since you have been punished, I will let you go this time!”
“Bixiang, take the manor’s doctor to check on Mo Zhu. The expenses will be charged to my account!” Soon, Mo Zhu was taken away.
Tang Chuying indeed knew how to win people over!
However, Tang Chuying hitting Mo Zhu was definitely not as simple as venting her anger; she must have something to ask for!
Tang Chuyao thought that in a month, it would be the Qiqiao Festival, and Tang Chuying was likely short of clothes and jewelry!
Sure enough, she heard Tang Chuying continue, “Sister, next month is the Qiqiao Festival. I heard that Qi Lan’s aunt prepared a silk dress for her, and I’m so envious.”
Tang Chuyao sneered; Qi Lan’s grandfather was the Prime Minister, the highest-ranking official in the court, and the Noble Concubine was her aunt. What was so special about her having a piece of silk?
What status did Tang Chuying have?
A concubine’s daughter! A concubine’s daughter from the Wen Yongbo family! If Tang Chuyao’s mother hadn’t died early, then Mei Xiao’e would have continued to raise her outside!
The Wen Yongbo family was just a fallen household! Who in the capital would give her scummy father any face?
Wasn’t it all relying on her maternal grandfather’s family?
And she dared to compare herself to the legitimate daughter of the Prime Minister’s household?
What an absurdity!
Tang Chuyao sneered inwardly, her expression remaining calm.
Feigning concern, she said, “Sister, there’s no need to worry. Aunt will definitely prepare something nice for you!”
Before Tang Chuying could speak, Tang Chuyao continued, “I truly envy you, sister, for having an aunt who loves you!”
“Unlike me, who has been without a mother since childhood…”
After saying this, her eyes turned red. Dujian immediately hugged Tang Chuyao, saying, “Miss, don’t cry. You just woke up; you can’t be stimulated anymore!”
The hoarse voice that came from Tang Chuyao was indeed unpleasant to hear, and Tang Chuying frowned, looking at the two maidservants who were hugging each other and feeling sad, which made her angry!
After perfunctorily comforting them for a moment, she stormed off with her people…
Tang Chuyao wasn’t just putting on a show for Tang Chuying; she genuinely felt that her aunt was not worth it!
However, her aunt had died shortly after giving birth to her, and she sensed something was off.
Although her scummy father never recognized Mei Xiao’e, there was only one daughter in the vast Wen Yongbo family.
Once Tang Chuying left, Tang Chuyao and her maidservants returned to normal.
Dujian handed a cup of tea to Tang Chuyao, and before she could take a sip, she heard a voice in her mind.
“Host, why are you calling someone older than you ‘sister’?”
“What?”
Tang Chuyao was puzzled, and then she heard the system say, “The system just scanned Tang Chuying’s bone age and found that she is one year older than the host!”
Suddenly, the tea cup in her hand fell to the ground with a crash, shattering into pieces.
“Miss?” Dujian was startled.
Tang Chuyao waved her hand at Dujian, signaling that she was fine.
Dujian quickly squatted down to pick up the broken shards on the floor.
If Tang Chuying was one year older than her, it meant that her scummy father had already been involved with Mei Xiao’e before meeting her mother!
Tang Chuyao trembled with anger!
Her mother’s death definitely had something to do with it!
She needed to find out the truth behind her mother’s death and seek revenge for her!
Tang Youze, Mei Xiao’e, and her maternal grandmother, the Mei family! You all can live well only by stepping over my mother’s corpse!
I will not let you have it easy!
Tang Chuying, as the daughter of the Wen Yongbo family, was bullying her and poisoning her; these things, her scummy father and grandmother surely knew about!
But they just turned a blind eye!
They didn’t kill her mainly because they couldn’t bear to lose the power of her maternal family!
Then let you truly lose what you care about, and then go underground to apologize to my mother!!
“Dujian, we’re leaving the manor!”
Tang Chuyao took Dujian to the Horse Tying Manor. After many years, she saw Ke Wuwei again. It seemed that he had been waiting at the door since he learned she was coming today.
A figure stood there, dressed in a moon-white long robe, with silver thread embroidered with faint cloud patterns.
He appeared to be in his forties, and time had not left many marks on his face. His facial features were distinct, with sword-like eyebrows and a graceful demeanor. Beneath his brows were a pair of deep and bright eyes, shining like cold stars. Below his high nose bridge, his thin lips were slightly curved, revealing a hint of a smile.
His black hair was tied up with a simple jade hairpin, with a few strands gently swaying in the breeze, adding to his carefree elegance.
He stood tall like a pine tree, and his steps were light, as if the wind was beneath his feet. His long and powerful hands had distinct knuckles, as if he could easily summon clouds and rain with a mere gesture.
Tang Chuyao immediately got out of the carriage and walked quickly to Ke Wuwei, kneeling before him in an instant.
Ke Wuwei looked at his little disciple, his affection evident.
She had been away from the sect for three years, and during that time, he had learned about her life from others.
The birthmark on her face, her secret engagement with Gu Huaifeng, and the rumors about her being untalented and ugly spread throughout the capital…
Ke Wuwei could no longer hold back; he secretly ran to the Wen Yongbo manor to see her and found her pulse strange, so he sealed several of her major meridians.
He wanted to take her away from this complicated place without considering her feelings, but seeing how hard she was trying to please her family and adapt to life in the capital, he hesitated.
So he told Tang Chuyao that if he didn’t see her by the end of the month, he would leave the capital and return to the Xiaoyao Valley, never to interfere in her life again!
In her previous life, Tang Chuyao had forgotten her master’s instructions due to amnesia and thus didn’t come to the Horse Tying Manor.
Her master must have thought she didn’t want to see him, which was why she never got to see him again until her death!
In this life, she could not let her master be sad or misunderstand her!
Tang Chuyao looked up at Ke Wuwei with tears in her eyes, “Master.”
Her voice was hoarse, and she looked disheveled and pitiful.
She admitted she was a bit petty, intentionally not covering her face to make her master feel sorry for her!
Ke Wuwei’s eyes reddened. He had never cried, but at this moment, he felt nothing but heartache.
He pulled Tang Chuyao up and pretended to be angry, saying, “How can you come looking like this?”
