“Beyond the Boundaries” Chapter 28

Chapter 28: Unexpected Guest

The sky above the sea was low and blue, the clear and pure color making people feel happy.

The sea breeze was blowing in, bringing a moist and refreshing smell.

In the harbor, there were rows of sailboats and yachts docked. A pure white superyacht, over a hundred meters long, stood out among them, majestic and towering like a beautiful giant building.

The crew member wearing white gloves carried her luggage for her. Shuangxu walked down the gangway onto the ship, and Yue Zifeng was waiting for her on the deck.

“Oh, our little Song is finally here.” Yue Zifeng led her into the cabin, teasingly said, “Don’t forget your brother when you’re rich and famous someday.”

Shuangxu took her earphones off: “What did you say?”

“Forget it, I was talking to myself.” Yue Zifeng shouted again in the wind, “I’m saying you have someone to take care of you now, but I’m still single. Remember to take care of me in the future, I’m entrusting my old age to you.”

Shuangxu refused to take on this responsibility: “Why don’t you let your own sister take care of you?”

“My sister is not as reliable as you.” Yue Zifeng scoffed, “She always puts sand in my food, when I’m old she’ll probably feed me shit.”

Shuangxu’s sister was only two years old when she went abroad. She even held her in her arms. She didn’t expect the little girl to grow up so capable.

She couldn’t help but laugh: “It’s good enough to have something to eat, why are you being picky?”

“See, that’s a much better smile.” Yue Zifeng said as he walked inside, “You used to smile so much. America is a real eating place, it ate away all our little Shuangxu’s smiles.”

Shuangxu finally understood that Yue Zifeng was deliberately trying to cheer her up.

She thought it was because he had noticed her recent unhappiness, but after entering the cabin, she realized there was another reason.

The luxury of this superyacht was beyond imagination. The deck had a helipad, and it also housed a small yacht and a mini submarine. There were indoor cinemas, gyms, and other entertainment facilities, and there was a giant swimming pool at the stern, like a luxurious castle on the sea.

The living room on the first floor was spacious, with a magnificent crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling. At this moment, everyone was gathered here drinking and laughing.

Besides the people Shuangxu expected, there was also Song Leyan.

Song Leyan was sitting with Lu Manman. When she saw her, she gave her a “you’re going to pay for this” look and silently snorted at her.

Yue Zifeng knew that the two sisters didn’t get along well. They didn’t have much interaction with Song Leyan usually. There was a generation gap between them, and they weren’t familiar with each other. Besides, they knew that Song Leyan had taken the lead in bullying Shuangxu.

They didn’t take Song Leyan’s words seriously. This girl was like a little gangster who liked to form gangs. They had seen Shuangxu grow up with their own eyes, and there was a difference in their closeness.

“Manman’s friend, give us some face.” Yue Zifeng lowered his voice and whispered, “You don’t have to pay attention to her, your brothers are all here, she can’t bully you.”

“It’s okay.” Shuangxu was just annoyed by her, not afraid of her.

As for Lu Manman bringing Song Leyan, she didn’t care.

She had never really expected Lu Manman to understand her. People can only empathize with experiences that resonate with them. Lu Manman and her were not the same kind of people.

Lu Manman and Song Leyan were the same kind of people – their father’s darlings, the treasures he would take with him when he was transferred to work in another city, the darlings of the family. That’s why they could be friends.

Shuangxu greeted Shen Yu and her other brothers, her gaze lingering for a moment as it swept past He Tingzhou.

He Tingzhou had a nonchalant arrogance wherever he went. He occupied an entire sofa by himself, with a magazine covering his face, sleeping.

The cover girl was alluring and sexy, covering up that three-dimensional and noble face.

Unbearable to look at.

But what made Shuangxu involuntarily tense up was that he was wearing a very familiar white silk shirt today.

Almost exactly the same as the one she borrowed from him last time.

She was afraid that Shen Yu or Lu Manman would recognize it.

But men’s shirts are all pretty much the same. He Tingzhou seemed to love this kind of comfortable, skin-friendly fabric, and she couldn’t be sure if it was the same one.

Didn’t Yue Zifeng say that he never wore his clothes twice? Maybe it was just a similar style.

Shen Yu and Lu Manman didn’t react at all, it must have been her overthinking.

This matter was like a hair falling on her nerves, small and unholdable, but you know it’s there, bringing occasional slight disturbances.

Shuangxu’s gaze would glance at He Tingzhou every now and then.

Everyone was drinking and chatting, talking and laughing freely, without lowering their voices. Anyone would have trouble sleeping in this environment, right?

She asked in a low voice, curiously: “Won’t that wake him up?”

Yue Zifeng said it was okay: “He likes to sleep with human voices.”

She had seen many people who slept lightly and needed quiet, but this habit of using human voices to aid sleep was a first.

It was almost evening, the clouds were dyed warm orange by the setting sun.

Yue Zifeng opened his eyes and checked the time: “Alright, everyone’s here, let’s set sail.”

He had just informed the captain when there was a sound of footsteps on the deck.

“You’re going out to sea today, why didn’t you call me? It’s more fun to play with more people.”

A lazy voice came into the cabin, Shuangxu felt a sense of annoying familiarity, and turned her head.

The man was wearing a pair of triangular sunglasses, a flashy floral shirt and beach pants. He lifted his sunglasses to the top of his head, revealing a face that made Shuangxu frown.

Years had passed, but Zheng Zuye’s rogue and villainous aura hadn’t changed one bit.

Someone politely called out, “Zheng Shao.” Zheng’s grandfather was a powerful figure, even if this grandson was a rascal, he wasn’t someone to be trifled with.

“I was wondering whose yacht was so ostentatious, parked here. It turns out it’s an acquaintance. Waiting for me?”

Yue Zifeng clicked his tongue: “What sea wind blew you here.”

“Of course it was the fragrant wind from your big yacht.” Zheng Zuye sat down on the sofa uninvited, his arms spread out carelessly behind him, his left leg crossed over his right.

Yue Zifeng looked at Shen Yu with a headache.

Shen Yu looked at him, then at He Tingzhou.

Shen Yu’s expression was extremely calm, his face devoid of any emotion.

He Tingzhou was fast asleep on the sofa, completely oblivious to the unexpected visitor.

In the territory of Yancheng, the four major families of He, Shen, Zheng, and Yue coexisted on the same land, seemingly united. However, in private, they had their own distinct circles.

For example, Yue Zifeng, Zuo Zhong, and Shen Yu were childhood friends, with the closest bond. They only became acquainted with He Tingzhou later, but this group never associated with Zheng Zuye.

It wasn’t anything personal, they just couldn’t stand him, they weren’t on the same wavelength.

He was a complete scoundrel, but since he was already here, they couldn’t just throw him overboard.

Zheng Zuye seemed determined to stay, and Yue Zifeng wanted to get rid of him. But they saw each other often, and they couldn’t ignore the Zheng family’s face.

If anyone on this ship dared to throw Zheng Zuye overboard, it would only be the uninhibited He Tingzhou.

Unfortunately, the guy was sound asleep.

Just then, the gangway outside began to retract, signaling the ship’s departure.

Well, he couldn’t get off now even if he wanted to.
