Chapter 55: Ever-Changing Tastes
Shuangxu was a little surprised. She remembered seeing the figure in the distance at the airport, and she didn’t expect it to be him.
“Tingzhou, what a coincidence.”
“Not really.” He put his hands in his pockets, his gaze shifting from her phone without a trace of emotion. “I’m also attending the summit you’re going to.”
Using an abs photo as his profile picture, how could he be a decent person?
Superficial, vulgar, malicious.
“Oh.” Shuangxu turned around and stood to his left and front.
As the elevator went up, Shuangxu saw that he wasn’t going to speak, so she didn’t take the initiative to talk and stood quietly beside him.
After a few seconds of silence, a faint voice came from beside her, casually asking, “Did you come alone?”
“I have a subordinate with me.” Shuangxu replied.
He didn’t say anything else.
When the elevator reached the seventh floor, Shuangxu was about to step out. He asked slowly, “Does your subordinate live here too?”
“Yes.”
After Shuangxu finished speaking, she heard him chuckle softly.
She could hear his sarcasm, but she didn’t understand why. “Is there a problem?”
This floor was for executive suites. Only those with the rank of director or above at Yun Dun Group could have this kind of travel standard. Feixue, a small company that was practically broke, wouldn’t book executive suites for ordinary employees.
Therefore, they were most likely staying together.
He leaned against the elevator wall behind him. The top light was warm in color, casting on his face, but his eyes were cold and disdainful. “Why don’t I have such a ‘generous’ boss like you?”
“You are the boss yourself. You could be more generous to your subordinates.” Shuangxu endured her temper and said this, then turned and walked out.
Back in the room, while taking a shower, she inexplicably thought of his gaze again.
She couldn’t explain it, she just felt that her mood, which had been pretty good, was suddenly a little suffocating.
She didn’t understand why he always made fun of her.
He had helped her, saved her, but every time she thought she was getting closer to him, she would be awakened and reminded not to get carried away.
Forget it.
He wasn’t someone she could consider a friend anyway.
The next morning, the person in charge of the connection at Huifeng Technology didn’t make any moves. As the appointed time approached, Shuangxu took the initiative to call the other party, but the line was busy.
For the next hour, she couldn’t get in touch with anyone at Huifeng.
This kind of unannounced breach of agreement was something Shuangxu disliked the most. She frowned, already having a bad feeling.
Feixue had experienced similar situations, and they were quite experienced. Dashi worriedly said, “Are they not willing to cooperate again?”
Shuangxu stopped waiting and directly called a car: “Let’s go to their company.”
The two arrived at the industrial park where Huifeng Technology was located and looked for the customer director in charge.
The secretary said, “Mr. Zhang is currently receiving clients. Please wait a moment.”
They waited for another hour.
Shuangxu glanced at her watch and got up to find the secretary. “Has Mr. Zhang finished receiving his clients?”
“Sorry, Mr. Zhang had an urgent matter and has already left.”
Shuangxu didn’t say anything, just stared at her.
The secretary looked embarrassed and said awkwardly, “I told him, but he said it was urgent and left in a hurry as soon as he came out.”
This kind of thing was not something she, a small secretary, could control. Shuangxu knew that it was useless to make things difficult for her.
“Then please tell Mr. Zhang that people should have basic integrity. If you don’t want to cooperate or have any concerns, you should make it clear before we come, not leave us hanging like this and play games.”
Shuangxu said, “Since you insist on ‘inviting’ us here, the airfare and hotel expenses for this trip will be sent to you later. Please reimburse them.”
After leaving Huifeng, Dashi asked dejectedly, “Why do we always encounter this kind of thing? We’ve wasted another trip.”
They stood by the roadside waiting for a car. Shuangxu looked at the blue sky and the towering buildings in the distance, still calm and collected.
“People always have to go through some detours. It’s not a waste of time. Tomorrow is the Hydrogen Energy Development Summit. It’s not a bad idea to go and see. Maybe there will be other gains.”
“Why aren’t you angry at all?” Dashi said. “If it were Shu, she would have exploded.”
“Because it’s useless to be angry.” Shuangxu smiled. “Actually, it’s best to be able to vent your anger. The anger you can’t vent will turn into knots and grow somewhere in your body. My senior is much more carefree than me.”
When they returned to the hotel, they happened to run into He Tingzhou at the entrance.
The extended Rolls-Royce was parked at the hotel entrance. He Tingzhou was wearing a charcoal gray suit, and for once, he had buttoned his buttons properly and tied his tie neatly.
His assistant, Xu Zhen, had already opened the car door, and he was about to get in.
Shuangxu was swaying between politely greeting him and impolitely ignoring him, and without paying attention, she tripped over the carpet.
Dashi immediately grabbed her arm. “Whoa, be careful!”
“I’m fine.”
Shuangxu stood up straight. He Tingzhou, not far away, had already noticed them.
He stood by the car, the custom black paint setting off his sharp and handsome features. Those cold, sharp black eyes swept over Shuangxu casually.
Then, they followed her arm and moved to the man beside her.
A shirt with no taste at all, tucked into his jeans, carrying a black student-style backpack, wearing black-rimmed glasses, and a head of sheep-like natural curls.
Apart from his skin being whiter due to lack of sunlight and his features being more delicate, he was unremarkable. You could throw him into any university, and he would blend in instantly.
Seeing He Tingzhou staring at the other person for several seconds, Xu Zhen also glanced over.
He then explained the other person’s background to He Tingzhou.
Accompanied Shuangxu on a business trip.
This great god, a genius who passed the entrance exam for Yancheng University at the age of thirteen, is surnamed Cheng, with a rather uncommon name, Xiye. All the employees at Feixue call him “Great God.”
He is the treasure of Feixue, the only flaw being his social anxiety.
When Chen Peiran and Shu Yang split the company, the first person he wanted to take with him was Xiye. It is said that he made over ten phone calls and sent dozens of 60-second long voice messages, forcing the Great God to get up at three in the morning and block him.
He Tingzhou didn’t say anything, just stared at the two people walking towards him.
Just as Shuang Xu was about to greet him, He Tingzhou’s critical gaze shifted from the man, and he uttered a sentence with an ambiguous meaning: “Your tastes really do change.”
