Chapter 57: Dressed so Pretty, Going on a Date?
In the evening, Xu Zhen sent a message to Shuangxu half an hour in advance, informing her of their arrival time at the hotel and the location of dinner.
It was a high-end restaurant, so Shuangxu changed into a more formal dress and applied light makeup.
She went downstairs on time after changing her clothes, and He Tingzhou’s car was already parked at the hotel entrance.
Xu Zhen respectfully opened the door for her. In the car, He Tingzhou glanced sideways, his gaze falling on her, pausing slightly.
The sleeveless dress itself was very elegant, with a simple and neat cut that fit her curves perfectly.
The color was ice blue, very clean.
She bent down to get in the car, her feet in a pair of matching thin-strapped high heels, making her ankles look delicate and perfectly proportioned.
Her makeup was very light, with nude peach lipstick and two pearly white earrings that shimmered in her black hair.
Shuangxu sat down and realized that He Tingzhou was looking at her.
He was used to being casual and disliked rigid formality. After the summit, he took off his tie and unbuttoned the top two buttons of his collar, looking lazy and unrestrained.
Shuangxu looked back, feeling that his eyes were exceptionally deep in the shadows of the car.
She felt her heart flutter inexplicably under his gaze and was about to speak.
He Tingzhou regained his lazy and nonchalant expression: “Dressed so pretty, going on a date?”
Because the restaurant he booked was very formal, wasn’t it basic courtesy to dress formally?
Shuangxu was made to feel as if she had some ulterior motive and deliberately dressed up, so she turned her head to clarify: “This is already the most ordinary dress I have. You think it’s too pretty because I’m naturally beautiful.”
He Tingzhou chuckled, and the sound of his laughter sounded like mockery to Shuangxu’s ears.
What was so funny? She was indeed very pretty.
But He Tingzhou probably didn’t think so. He liked flamboyant and seductive women.
Like that cheongsam beauty, a single seductive glance could make one’s bones melt and lose control. Shuangxu could completely understand, which man wouldn’t like that?
He Tingzhou picked up the tie he had tossed aside and tied it back on.
He slowly tied a knot, his fingers pushing it down to his throat. As the car started, he said, “You look good in blue.”
The restaurant was very stylish, with a band playing a melodious violin melody, and the food was much better than the one Shuangxu went to the other day.
She had work on her mind, so she asked He Tingzhou while eating: “Which part of the flight control system do you have questions about?”
He Tingzhou held his chopsticks, picking out the scallions one by one from the braised eggplant: “Does your company like to eat work with meals? Why not just eat materials directly and save the money for the shredder.”
If he hadn’t said he wanted to eat and talk, who would want to entertain a client after work.
He didn’t want to talk now, so they could only talk after they finished eating.
Shuangxu looked at his patient actions. She wanted to ask this last time.
“You don’t eat scallions, why do you still put them in?”
He Tingzhou confidently said: “I don’t eat it, but it can’t be lazy either.”
… Okay.
When He Tingzhou finished eating and put down his chopsticks, Shuangxu on the opposite side had been waiting for a long time.
She took out the thick stack of materials she had specially brought from her bag, ready to face the client’s questions.
He Tingzhou looked at her, who was full of work and righteousness, and curled his lips: “Why are you taking it out now?”
Shuangxu was taken aback by his counterattack: “Didn’t you want to eat first?”
The waiter brought over the bill. He Tingzhou signed it with his pen, his fingers long and elegant, with strong bones. After signing, he returned the bill, raised his head, and a confident arc appeared at the corner of his lips: “I’m tired from eating, let’s talk another time.”
“…”
Client, client, he is the client. Shuangxu silently repeated it a few times, calming her emotions and putting the materials back in her bag.
“Shuangxu?”
Hearing someone call her, Shuangxu looked up. Bai Qingmei was waving to them from a distance, then smiling and walking over.
“Qingmei Jie.” Shuangxu looked surprised.
“You came to Lincheng to play and didn’t look me up? I’m familiar with this place.”
“I came here on a business trip.”
Bai Qingmei looked at He Tingzhou: “Did you come together?”
“No.” Shuangxu said, “I’m here to inspect suppliers, and Brother Tingzhou happened to be here for the hydrogen energy development summit, so we ran into each other.”
“This kind of small summit actually invited you to attend in person.” Bai Qingmei said, “It seems like Yun Dun is very idle recently.”
He Tingzhou’s eyelids twitched slightly, with a lazy expression: “Mind your own business, how about I give you the company.”
He was just as rude to everyone. Shuangxu immediately explained for him: “Hydrogen energy is a new trend in the energy industry, and Yun Dun is very interested in this sector.”
“Oh~” Bai Qingmei’s smile was meaningful. Before Shuangxu could understand its implication, she changed the subject, “Have you finished eating? It’s rare for you to come here, I’ll treat you to drinks!”
Shuangxu looked at He Tingzhou, afraid that he wouldn’t want to accompany them two women, so she would let him go back first.
Before she could speak, He Tingzhou misinterpreted her gaze: “Is Song Zong rushing back to the hotel? Is someone waiting for you?”
“No.” Shuangxu said, “I’m not in a hurry to go back.”
He Tingzhou got up casually, picked up his coat: “Then let’s go.”
Bai Qingmei called a few close friends, and Zhou Shengan came over from the company after work, still wearing a neat and formal suit. As soon as Bai Qingmei saw him, she hugged his waist and called out, “Brother.”
Shuangxu turned her head and saw Zhou Shengan holding her. Such a serious and formal person was so gentle when he lowered his head to talk to her.
She watched for a few seconds and silently looked away.
Zhou Shengan took a glass of wine and walked towards He Tingzhou. Shuangxu was drinking and chatting with Bai Qingmei and her friends.
They were all outgoing, could drink and make noise. Shuangxu was ike a rabbit that had fallen into a wolf den, she was dragged by them to drink a lot and even taken to dance.
The music in the dance floor was deafening, shaking the floor as if it were swaying. The air was filled with the smell of alcohol, and soon she felt dizzy.
After telling Bai Qingmei, she left the dance floor, walked through the noisy crowd to the bathroom to wash her face and try to sober up.
As she wiped her hands and walked out, she bumped into a man and a woman in the hallway, who were locked in an embrace, their lips locked together. The woman’s leg was held up by the man, and the scene was very intense.
This passionate scene startled Shuangxu, making her stop abruptly and freeze in place.
The two blocked the exit, and seeing someone coming out from inside, they didn’t stop at all, completely oblivious to the world as if they were in their own bedroom.
This was the bathroom, a place with constant traffic and noise, couldn’t they, find a more secluded place?
There wasn’t anyone when she came in, who would have thought that in just a few minutes, the way out would be blocked.
Perhaps because she was drunk and her reaction was slow, coupled with the fact that she was caught off guard, Shuangxu was completely stunned, and she hadn’t recovered her senses to avoid eye contact when a hand reached out from behind her and covered her eyes.
He Tingzhou’s lazy voice fell from above her head: “What kind of dirty things are you looking at?”
