Chapter 16: Even When She Was Dumb, She Was Well-Nurtured!
Her protectiveness towards the little chick, and her fearless attitude, made Jiang Han chuckle.
“What, you have a problem with me scolding your son?” Jiang Han asked with amusement.
“Yeah! Why are you scolding Yaoyao’s son?” Before Hu Yao could speak, Jiang Xiaochao jumped in with a nod of disapproval.
“Go pick your vegetables!” Jiang Han felt annoyed.
“I’ll pick them later, you’ll bully Yaoyao.” Jiang Xiaochao continued to fiercely protect Hu Yao.
“Bully? I can’t get enough of her.” Jiang Han glanced at him, then looked at Hu Yao, whose eyes were wide with alarm and confusion at his words.
Her reaction was so vivid, he couldn’t help but stare a little longer, suddenly finding her even more interesting.
It seemed like she was getting better, understanding what people were saying. It was a little more fun.
“What are you staring at with those big eyes? Showing off that your eyes are bigger than everyone else?” Jiang Han leaned closer, slightly bending down to pinch her chin.
Her face was truly to his liking, delicate in every way. He hadn’t regretted raising her for the past four years, he hadn’t made her do any work, and now it was obvious she was spoiled.
Well, he was the one who spoiled her.
Even when she was dumb, she was well-nurtured!
For some reason, he felt a strange sense of satisfaction at that moment.
His unfamiliar presence was close, the fingertips on her chin were rough and warm, and the force wasn’t gentle. The look in his eyes was strange and unsettling.
Hu Yao instinctively dodged his hand, taking a few steps back and covering her chin with her hand.
Her avoidance and her apparent disgust irritated Jiang Han.
He narrowed his eyes, grabbed her and pulled her back without any mercy. “What are you dodging? Can’t touch you?”
This time, they were even closer, he practically held her in his arms.
As if deliberately, he lowered his head and bit her lips, leaving a clear mark.
“Next time, I’ll bite off a piece of your flesh!” He threatened in a low voice, his face grim.
Hu Yao froze, her eyes slowly becoming moist again, a layer of mist forming over them, a mixture of shock and fear.
Jiang Han seemed to enjoy her appearance, he pinched her face and examined her for a while. “You gonna cry? Cry for me to see.”
His gangster-bully, lawless attitude would make anyone want to punch him.
Jiang Xiaochao did.
Seeing that Hu Yao was about to be made to cry, he was unhappy, he roared and lunged at him, trying to pull him away.
But he was so small, compared to his father, he was really like a little chick, and Jiang Han didn’t budge.
So Jiang Xiaochao fiercely opened his mouth and bit his thigh.
“Daddy, you’re mean! Let go of Yaoyao!”
“Jiang Fuchao, are you a dog? You want to keep those teeth?” Jiang Han turned around, pinched his cheek, and spoke in a menacing tone.
“Wuu wuu wuu!”
Jiang Xiaochao wasn’t afraid of him, he couldn’t speak with his face pinched, so he stretched out his little foot and stepped on him.
“Good.”
“That’s how you treat your father.” Jiang Han smirked at him.
“Don’t hit him!”
Seeing this scene, afraid that Jiang Han would do something to Jiang Xiaochao, Hu Yao, ignoring her own fear, rushed to grab his raised arm.
Jiang Xiaochao, however, was still fearless, completely different from Hu Yao’s nervousness, he wasn’t afraid at all. “You’re going to hit me again? If you beat me to death, you’ll have no son! What will you do if you die!?”
Children are often a bit careless in their words, they don’t mind what they say.
“Heh, you think you’re pretty important.” Jiang Han laughed at his cheeky look, and was even more amused by his last words. “I really need you, Jiang Fuchao, without you, I wouldn’t know what to do.”
“I know!” Jiang Xiaochao looked like he knew it without needing to be told, his expression was arrogant.
Hu Yao was really afraid that Jiang Han would beat him, she nervously tightened her grip on his arm.
Jiang Han turned his head and looked down at her.
Hu Yao looked nervous.
“Hu Yao.”
“Your chest, it’s squeezing my hand.”
“How long are you going to hug me? It’s quite soft.”
In an instant, Hu Yao’s face flushed red, she released his hand like she had been electrocuted, shy and embarrassed.
As soon as she let go, Jiang Xiaochao was hit.
“Daddy, are you tired? It’s time to go to sleep! I’ll step on your back for you later!” Jiang Xiaochao was still a very sensible child.
“No need, I’ll make you walk ahead of your dad today!”
Jiang Han sneered.
Naturally, Jiang Xiaochao was punished and didn’t get to eat breakfast, he had to stand miserably at the door.
Jiang Han tried Hu Yao’s cooking for the first time, her porridge was more fragrant and smooth than the one bought outside, and the simple dishes were also delicious. Jiang Han was quite satisfied and ate Jiang Xiaochao’s portion as well.
“Make more next time.”
He left with those words.
Hu Yao still felt sorry for Jiang Xiaochao who didn’t get to eat, so after he left, she made two egg pancakes for him.
“Yaoyao, don’t be afraid, I’ll protect you.” Jiang Xiaochao chewed on the pancake and said warmly to her, he also noticed that Hu Yao was very afraid of Jiang Han.
“You don’t have to be afraid of Daddy, when I grow up, I’ll help you beat Daddy’s hand! I bit him too.” He seriously assured her.
Hu Yao was amused, her heart felt warm and soft, she gently rubbed his head.
Jiang Han was usually not at home, when he got his land, he chose mostly mountainous land, he planted all tea, and only two plots of good land were planted with watermelon.
This was the time to pick summer tea.
The watermelon was also ready to eat.
Jiang Han’s tea was sold to other provinces, only a few people knew about it. At first, when people heard that he planted all his land with tea and no grain at all, they said a lot of things.
But later, when they saw that Jiang Han rented more land to plant tea the year before last, everyone realized that what time is it, the few brothers in Jiang Han Village who helped him manage the tea fields also became active.
They knew that Jiang Han had more than just this one way to make money. Now, they were all no longer teenagers who were lazy and didn’t do anything. Everyone had a family and children, so they had to make plans.
“Brother Han, you and Ajie are brothers from the same village, we have to help each other. I heard that your wife hit her head a few days ago, this is some nourishing tonic, you can take it back later.” Li Zhen, Liu Jie’s wife, smiled with a flattering face. Her family was from the town, and she was the sister of one of Jiang Han’s brothers in the town.
Hearing this, Jiang Han glanced at her and Liu Jie, smiling faintly: “How to help? Give you all the tea fields?”
“I haven’t been involved much in the past two years, and you’ve been taking advantage of me? I’ve been turning a blind eye, but you’re getting arrogant!” Jiang Han’s voice turned cold.
“Who told you to touch Hu Yao?”
Liu Jie and his wife’s faces changed, they vehemently denied it, their panic was evident.
“Brother Han, what are you talking about? How dare we touch your wife, it was the Hu family who did it! It has nothing to do with us.”
Jiang Han laughed: “Why are you so nervous? I’m not here to settle accounts with you.”
“Just do me a favor, and I’ll include you in the tea business from now on.”
Liu Jie hesitated for a moment, then said in a deep voice: “Brother Han, if there’s anything we can do, we’ll definitely do it for you!”
“It’s simple, just find someone, you know who it is.” Jiang Han’s expression was unreadable.
