Chapter 25: A Fiery Temper
Jiang Han’s chin rested on Hu Yao’s head, his arm wrapped around her waist.
He was tall and strong, and tiny Hu Yao seemed like a little bird nestled in his embrace. Though she was thin, her curves were still pleasing to the touch. He quite liked her.
The next morning, a cool breeze blew in, waking the slumbering dreamers.
Hu Yao felt hot and a little breathless.
She opened her eyes to find herself held tightly in Jiang Han’s arms. She had been sleeping more heavily than usual during her period, and she was prone to drowsiness.
The sky outside was half-bright, with only a few streaks of darkness remaining.
Hu Yao carefully tried to pry his arm away from her waist.
As soon as she moved, her wrist was captured.
“What are you doing? Go back to sleep.”
His voice was slightly hoarse, having just woken up. He still sounded lazy and casual, pulling her closer and pressing her tightly against his chest.
He was holding her from behind, her entire back pressed against his bare chest. Their posture was intimate. It was hot, and he always slept without a shirt.
His tone, for once, held a hint of tenderness.
Hu Yao froze, silent and motionless, like a wooden stake.
Until Jiang Han bit her neck.
She couldn’t help but gasp, instinctively covering her neck.
As she raised her hand, she felt a sharp pain in her shoulder.
It was from yesterday, when he had both hit and bitten her!
A wave of frustration and resentment washed over her. She had bitten back when he had bitten her lips, unable to hold back.
“You’re getting bold. Try biting me again!” Jiang Han’s sleepiness vanished, and he returned to his usual fierce demeanor. He propped himself up above her, his other hand pinching her soft cheek.
Hu Yao realized she had bitten him.
“I didn’t mean to,” she whispered, struggling to speak, glancing at his cracked lip. She felt a little guilty. He hadn’t bitten her that hard.
“Open your mouth, let me see how sharp your teeth are!” Jiang Han pried open her lips.
He looked like he was going to break her teeth. Hu Yao shook her head repeatedly, nervously grabbing his hand and apologetically blowing on his lip: “I didn’t mean to.”
He had bitten her first, but she couldn’t bite him back? And now she had to apologize!
Jiang Han looked down at her, continuing to pry open her mouth, leaning down to bite her again.
This time, he explored her mouth, biting her tongue, which hadn’t reacted.
His hand, which usually clamped down on her chin, moved to the back of her head, pulling her closer.
He seemed to be enjoying himself, no longer just biting her.
She had bitten his lip, and he was retaliating by gnawing on her lips, making them red and swollen.
She was on her period, so they couldn’t do anything serious, but he was making up for it with kisses and touches.
He had gotten himself worked up early in the morning.
He went to take a cold shower, his face dark, while Hu Yao, breathing heavily and blushing, tidied up her disheveled clothes.
Since she had woken up and seen him, he had been straightforward and forceful, using the most direct methods to make her adapt to him, without any restraint.
But he wasn’t a restrained person to begin with. In his eyes, she was his woman, and he could do whatever he wanted to her.
After quickly tidying up, Hu Yao went to the kitchen to make porridge and stir-fried some leftover bamboo shoots.
She usually made porridge for breakfast, as it was light and good for the stomach.
Jiang Han and Jiang Xiaochao didn’t mind what she made. They were both unfussy eaters and finished everything.
“Yaoyao, I had a dream last night,” Jiang Xiaochao said, his mouth full of porridge.
“Really? What did you dream about, Chaochao?” Hu Yao picked up some bamboo shoots and put them in his bowl, smiling as she spoke to him.
Jiang Han sat beside them, gulping down his porridge, barely using his chopsticks, just pouring it into his mouth directly.
“I dreamed I went to play with Yaoyao, and Yaoyao ate watermelon with me, and we even ate pumpkin cake! It was so delicious!” Jiang Xiaochao smacked his lips.
Children that age loved sweets and snacks. Hu Yao smiled: “Aunt Zhaodi has pumpkins. Mommy will trade with her for one later and make pumpkin cake for you, okay?”
“Okay!” Jiang Xiaochao nodded excitedly, his little smile even brighter.
He was becoming more talkative each day, calling her Yaoyao all the time. Jiang Han had heard it so many times, his ears were getting calloused. He didn’t really listen to what he was saying, just hearing the repeated “Yaoyao.”
“Your mom isn’t stupid anymore, he understands when you call her Mom!” Jiang Han glanced at him.
It was only because Hu Yao had hit her head and was confused about being a mother that Jiang Xiaochao had called her “Mom” and she hadn’t responded. She had repeatedly emphasized that others should call her Yaoyao, which had led to Jiang Xiaochao’s current habit.
“I call her Mom too.” Jiang Xiaochao didn’t see anything wrong with it. He thought Hu Yao liked him calling her that.
Hu Yao didn’t mind. No matter how Jiang Xiaochao called her, his soft voice was always sweet, whether it was “Mom” or “Yaoyao.” It made her heart melt.
He could call her whatever he wanted!
“Dad, do you want me to call you Brother Han too?” Jiang Xiaochao thought his father was probably jealous of Hu Yao.
“Heh, you’ve got big ideas. You want to be brothers with your old man?” Jiang Han sneered.
“Why not?” Jiang Xiaochao was still too young, a three-year-old with a lot he didn’t understand.
“You can, but ask your mom if she wants this big son of mine!” Jiang Han’s hand itched again. He felt that raising a son wasn’t as happy as others said.
He couldn’t even stand to look at Jiang Fuchao for a few seconds!
“No, Yaoyao doesn’t like you,” Jiang Xiaochao quickly refused on behalf of Hu Yao.
Hu Yao remained quiet, not saying a word, and ate her porridge without looking up.
“Right, she’s completely smitten with you!” Jiang Han’s face darkened. He not only gave Jiang Fuchao a cold look but also glared at Hu Yao, who remained silent.
Good, even Jiang Fuchao, this little brat, could clearly see that Hu Yao, this woman, didn’t like him!
So what if she didn’t like him? Wasn’t she still his son’s mother and his woman?
Besides, what did he need those useless likes for? Could they make him immortal? He didn’t have that much free time to delve into all this nonsense!
Jiang Han’s face sank, but despite his thoughts, he felt inexplicably annoyed.
He provided her with good food and drink, and she couldn’t even bother to be nice to him? She had no discernment at all, what a stupid woman! Her mind was no better than a fool’s! She was so good to Jiang Fuchao, who hadn’t even been weaned and needed him to buy everything!
Very good!
The more Jiang Han thought about it, the angrier he became. When he went out, his face was still unpleasant, and the sound of the door slamming was much louder than usual.
Hu Yao thought that his temper was really bad, and he would slam the door whenever he was upset.
