Chapter 83
“She told me not to tell you. It’s a surprise.”
Tang Wan watched him finish almost the entire can of yellow peaches. She held a silver needle between her fingers.
When Mao Goudan lowered his head to eat, she quickly stabbed him in the neck.
Ah!
Mao Goudan wanted to scream but found he couldn’t. He wanted to punch Tang Wan but couldn’t move.
He could only watch Tang Wan in front of him.
Who are you?
His eyes were filled with terror. Tang Wan suddenly smiled. She hadn’t collected enough herbs recently, so she had stabbed Mao Goudan’s dumb point.
Combined with the medicine she had prepared in her space, he would become mute!
But her purpose wasn’t limited to that. Tang Wan glared at Mao Goudan and deliberately lowered her voice,
“Don’t you remember me? You bullied my sister before, and she couldn’t take it anymore.”
She had changed her makeup. It was no wonder that Mao Goudan couldn’t recognize her.
He frantically shook his head, quickly thinking about the wives he had bullied.
None of them looked like the woman in front of him.
It wasn’t me! It wasn’t me! You must have the wrong person!
Mao Goudan was roaring in his heart, but Tang Wan didn’t care. She smiled slightly.
“People like you are a waste of food!
If you dare to bully anyone again, I’ll kill you!”
Under Mao Goudan’s terrified gaze, Tang Wan stabbed him again.
It was good enough for him to live a miserable life as a cripple.
Mao Goudan’s eyes were wide as saucers. Tang Wan stabbed him again, and he fell limply onto the bed.
When she faintly heard Goudan’s mother’s complaints, Tang Wan removed the silver needle and put away the can of yellow peaches. Then, she quickly left the ward.
In the long corridor, Tang Wan brushed past Goudan’s mother. Goudan’s mother was so angry that she was fuming.
“We don’t have that much money at home. I have to go find the brigade leader again.”
“Forget it. The brigade leader is clearly not happy. We still have to live in the brigade.”
“…”
Tang Wan went to the bathroom with light steps. Then, she immediately went into her space and removed her makeup.
She changed back into her own clothes and walked out of her space with a plain face.
As soon as she came out of the bathroom, she heard Goudan’s mother’s scream coming from Goudan’s ward. It was clearly her.
Tang Wan then disappeared without a trace. She quickly left the clinic.
At this time, Goudan’s mother was shocked. She grabbed Goudan’s hand. “Goudan, don’t scare your mother!”
The old lady was over sixty years old. Goudan was her first son.
Because she favored Goudan, her other sons had been angry with her for a long time and hadn’t contacted her.
Ah, ah, ah…
Mao Goudan wanted to tell them that someone had hurt him, but he couldn’t speak. He could only frantically point to his mouth.
“You can’t talk anymore?”
Goudan’s mother slapped her thigh and cried. “Are the doctors in this clinic incompetent? My son was fine when he came here!”
No, no…
Goudan frantically shook his head. He gestured wildly with his hands, but Goudan’s mother couldn’t understand.
Fortunately, the nurse heard the commotion and came over. She asked in confusion, “What’s going on?”
“You incompetent doctors, you’ve made my son mute!”
Goudan’s mother glared at the nurse. The nurse was about to explode. She said helplessly,
“Your son’s leg is injured. We treated his leg. How could we make him mute?”
She suspected that they didn’t want to pay for medical expenses, so they were trying to extort money.
Ah, ah, ah…
Goudan gestured wildly. The nurse thought for a moment and said, “What are you trying to express?
I’ll get you some paper and a pen. You can write it down.”
Goudan: …
He didn’t know how to read or write!
When the nurse handed the paper and pen to Mao Goudan, he suddenly had an idea.
He couldn’t write, but he could draw!
So Mao Goudan started drawing Tang Wan’s appearance on the paper. Of course, only he could understand who the drawing was of.
“Who… who is this?”
Goudan’s mother looked at the strange-looking drawing in confusion. Mao Goudan almost tore the paper in anger.
But the nurse suddenly understood. “Are you trying to say the woman who came to see you? Isn’t she your girlfriend?”
No, no!
Mao Goudan’s eyes were filled with fire. He frantically shook his head. That wasn’t his girlfriend. It was clearly a demon who had come to take his life.
“Who? Who came to see you?!”
Goudan’s mother finally reacted. The nurse explained it to her. Goudan’s mother asked Goudan angrily,
“Did that woman make you like this?”
If her Goudan had a girlfriend, how could he take advantage of other people’s wives?
Yes, yes, yes!
This time, Mao Goudan nodded quickly. Goudan’s mother quickly said to the nurse,
“You’ve seen that bitch. Quickly, quickly, help me find someone!”
The clinic was in chaos. Tang Wan, without a trace, rode her bicycle all the way to the military hospital.
Tang Wan knew where Xia Qing usually worked. She looked for a few wards.
Sure enough, she saw Xia Qing just finishing giving a few patients injections and IVs.
When she saw her, Xia Qing was startled at first, but then she calmly finished treating her patients.
Then, she quickly walked out of the ward. “How are you? Have you made up your mind?”
“Yes, Lu Huaijing and I discussed it. We’ll come to take the exam tomorrow.”
Tang Wan had come to test Xia Qing’s attitude. She lowered her voice and asked her,
“If I pass the exam, do I need to report it to the military district?”
“No.”
Xia Qing gave her a definite answer. “Our military district and the military hospital are part of the same system.
They will naturally receive the record. Last night, I mentioned it to Lao Xu. He said that you’re helpful and that you are indeed suitable to work at the hospital.”
However, Lao Xu’s expression was a little strange. Xia Qing didn’t understand yet.
“Okay, thank you.”
Tang Wan’s heart settled. As long as it didn’t affect Lu Huaijing.
“You’re welcome. We’re all from the same family compound.”
Xia Qing glanced at the patients in the ward. “I still have patients. Go back and prepare well.”
“Okay.”
Tang Wan didn’t disturb her for too long. After leaving, she turned around and went back to the family compound.
From afar, she saw Captain Cheng carrying a large bag of luggage. Cheng Xiaoyue was reluctantly following behind him.
The siblings looked gloomy. It was obvious that Captain Cheng was in a bad mood.
“If I hadn’t noticed something was wrong and come back to check, would you have even planned to leave?”
Captain Cheng was really furious. He had specially bought a ticket for his sister and let her take the supply truck to the train station in the morning.
But when he came back, he found that Cheng Xiaoyue was still at home, ordering his wife around.
His wife didn’t listen, and they almost had a fight.
“I’m not leaving!”
Cheng Xiaoyue stiffened her neck. She looked like a dead pig that wasn’t afraid of boiling water. Captain Cheng was so angry that he wanted to hit her.
They both looked up and saw Tang Wan riding her bicycle back from outside. She was wearing a Dacron shirt and a straw hat.
It was the same quality of clothing, but Cheng Xiaoyue felt that Tang Wan looked much more stylish than her.
“Sister-in-law.”
Captain Cheng awkwardly greeted Tang Wan. Tang Wan nodded slightly.
She didn’t speak to Cheng Xiaoyue. She rode her bicycle directly into the family compound.
Looking at her back, Cheng Xiaoyue’s eyes turned red with envy.
“Brother, it’s all your fault. I clearly had a crush on Deputy Commander Lu back then.
If you had helped me, maybe I would be the one living such a carefree life now!”
