“That hurts!” Tan Yixuan cried out in pain. Wang Sasa quickly got off her, not thinking much about it.

“Are you okay? Where does it hurt?” Wang Sasa asked worriedly, her gaze inadvertently sweeping over Tan Yixuan’s chest and lips. She remembered that she seemed to have collided with Tan Yixuan’s chest earlier and… her gaze shifted to Tan Yixuan’s pale lips. Feeling a bit awkward, she turned her gaze away and said, “Let me help you up…”

She reached out to help Tan Yixuan.

Tan Yixuan’s eyes flickered, and she grasped Wang Sasa’s arm in return. She looked at her for a moment before softly replying, “It’s nothing.”

Wei Qi, holding Wei Bao, walked over and saw them in a heap, asking, “Are you alright?”

Wang Sasa brushed the ice flakes off her coat and then off Tan Yixuan’s, assuring him they were fine.

With Wei Qi there, Wang Sasa focused on staying with Tan Yixuan. Tan Yixuan curled the corners of her lips and glanced at Wang Sasa, then lowered her eyes and said, “It’s my fault for not stepping aside in time.”

Wang Sasa patted her hand and said, “It’s fine. I wanted to stay with you anyway. I’m also tired from playing.”

Tan Yixuan smiled faintly in response.

Seeing Tan Yixuan’s silence, Wang Sasa looked around and tentatively asked, “So, how did things go between you and Wei Qi earlier?”

Tan Yixuan could clearly hear the underlying concern in Wang Sasa’s tone. She pursed her lips and finally said, “Actually, we didn’t have much to talk about.”

Wang Sasa frowned upon hearing this.

Not only were their personalities vastly different, but Wei Qi and Tan Yixuan were from completely different worlds. One was proud, the other indifferent; together, they could only end up freezing each other out.

According to the original story or any romance novel, Wei Qi shouldn’t have been interested in the female lead. So why could Wei Qi end up happily with a female lead who was from a completely different world?

Wang Sasa, who knew she had quite a few admirers, understood that their interest was usually driven by her beauty, family background, or intelligence—something they desired.

So what was it that attracted Wei Qi?

Wang Sasa pondered this while examining Tan Yixuan’s features. After a moment, she seemed to realize, “The reason you and Wei Qi don’t have much to talk about is probably because you haven’t experienced enough together.”

Tan Yixuan, puzzled, asked, “What do you mean?”

Wang Sasa took her hands in a sincere gesture and said, “Don’t be discouraged. I’ll help you. I’ll try to create opportunities for you two, so don’t worry if there isn’t a spark right away.”

Tan Yixuan looked at her for a moment before sighing.

After Wang Sasa spent some time with Tan Yixuan, Wei Bao started clamoring to ride the Ferris wheel.

Wang Sasa glanced at the towering Ferris wheel and had an idea.

The Ferris wheel was typically for either children or couples.

Wang Sasa looked at Wei Qi and Tan Yixuan and then whispered to Tan Yixuan, “Do you know about the ‘bridge effect’?”

Tan Yixuan, confused, replied, “Yes. What about it?”

Wang Sasa deliberately said, “Well, if you like someone, it’s best to try an exciting activity with them. This way, the other person might mistake the thrill for romantic feelings. That’s how relationships start!”

Tan Yixuan looked at her and pursed her lips, “So?”

Wang Sasa winked and smiled, subtly suggesting, “You understand? If the person has a fear of heights, wouldn’t riding the Ferris wheel be perfect?”

Tan Yixuan’s long eyelashes fluttered, and she briefly looked at Wang Sasa’s face before saying softly, “So… do you have a fear of heights?”

The question was so faint that Wang Sasa didn’t quite catch it. She turned her face and asked, “What did you say?”

Tan Yixuan lowered her eyes and smiled, “Nothing.”

Wang Sasa paused for a moment before continuing, “Forget the bridge effect. I think the ‘closed room effect’ might be more applicable now. Just think, spending a few minutes in the closed space of the Ferris wheel with beautiful scenery outside, gazing at each other… and the romantic legends about Ferris wheels. Don’t you think it’s something you should experience with someone you like?”

Experience with someone you like?

Tan Yixuan looked at Wang Sasa, deep in thought.

In a confined space with only her crush and no other distractions…

Realizing something, her heart began to race. She tried to hide the blush on her face from Wang Sasa, merely responding with a soft “Hmm.”

Wang Sasa, having made her suggestion, intentionally went to talk to Wei Bao, successfully getting him to cling to her. When it was their turn, Wang Sasa held Wei Bao’s hand and regretfully told Tan Yixuan and Wei Qi, “It looks like it’ll be just the two of you on the Ferris wheel. I’ll take Bao Bao on the next ride.”

Before Tan Yixuan could respond, the ticket seller called out, “The four of you over there, are you together? Hurry up and get on!”

Wang Sasa immediately bit her lip and said to Tan Yixuan, “I need to use the restroom. You two go ahead and have fun.” She hesitated for a moment but still returned the light bulb to Wei Qi. Although Wei Bao was an additional light bulb, it was like a small family of three.

With Wei Bao around, the atmosphere might ease up.

Tan Yixuan frowned at her, just about to refuse, when the ticket seller urged them again.

Wang Sasa waved her hand and smiled, pushing the two of them along.

A ride on the Ferris wheel only took a few minutes, so Wang Sasa didn’t go far. She found a nearby bench and sat down. As she looked up at the slowly rotating Ferris wheel, she wondered what the two of them might be talking about in such a confined space, and hoped it would help them develop feelings for each other.

While lost in thought, a cheerful male voice suddenly broke the silence.

“Miss, are you alone?”

Wang Sasa turned to see a skinny boy in a white t-shirt and olive green work pants. She raised her eyebrows and asked, “Is there something you need?”

The boy scratched his head awkwardly and blushed, “Well… if you’re alone, would you like to join us? It’s more fun with more people.”

Wang Sasa chuckled lightly, recognizing the familiar feeling from before. She instinctively smiled, “Thank you…” Her gaze drifted past him to see a group of four or five people standing nearby. She declined, “But I came with my classmates, so sorry.”

The boy’s face turned even redder as he looked at her, and his friends urged him to hurry up. After hesitating for a while, he said, “Then… can we add each other on WeChat?”

Wang Sasa’s smile faded slightly, feeling a sudden irritation. Wasn’t her refusal clear enough?

Tan Yixuan and Wei Qi had just gotten off the Ferris wheel and saw this scene.

Tan Yixuan’s expression darkened immediately, and she pursed her lips in displeasure. However, Wei Qi didn’t notice her mood. He took a big stride toward the boy and said harshly, “Who are you?”

The boy looked at Wei Qi and stiffened. His gaze shifted between Wang Sasa and Wei Qi, and he finally looked dejectedly at Wang Sasa, “Is he your boyfriend?”

Wang Sasa found it amusing. Wei Qi, startled, blushed and awkwardly denied, “Don’t be ridiculous! I’m not her boyfriend!”

Wang Sasa felt uncomfortable seeing Wei Qi’s agitated denial. Did Wei Qi actually have feelings for her? She glanced at Tan Yixuan, who looked even more sullen, and realized the situation might be problematic.

Tan Yixuan noticed Wang Sasa’s gaze and hurriedly looked away, afraid that Wang Sasa had noticed something.

Wang Sasa withdrew her gaze, pondered for a moment, and turned to the boy, saying, “We’re not a couple, not now and not in the future.” She raised her voice slightly to make sure Tan Yixuan could hear. After saying this, she took out her phone and exchanged WeChat contacts with the boy, who looked pleasantly surprised.

Throughout the exchange, Wang Sasa paid little attention to Wei Qi’s expression and focused on Tan Yixuan’s emotions. Fortunately, after she denied being in a relationship with Wei Qi, Tan Yixuan’s mood visibly improved.

Wei Qi, having heard Wang Sasa’s firm denial, had an unsightly expression. Although he considered his feelings for Wang Sasa to be minimal, hearing her deny their relationship so bluntly stirred some bitterness inside him. What was going on with him?

Tan Yixuan walked over slowly, took Wang Sasa’s hand, and turned to leave.

Wang Sasa, surprised, asked, “Where are we going?”

Tan Yixuan’s gaze lingered on her face for a moment before she spoke softly, “You’ve never been on a Ferris wheel before, right? Since you’re here, let me accompany you for a ride.” She grabbed Wang Sasa’s arm and firmly pulled her forward.

Wang Sasa wasn’t very interested in the Ferris wheel, finding it not stimulating enough for her, but since Tan Yixuan was being kind, she didn’t refuse.

The line wasn’t long, and they were soon up next.

Wang Sasa quickly boarded the Ferris wheel and sat properly, while Tan Yixuan followed her and sat opposite. With the windows open, the wind grew stronger as they went higher, causing Wang Sasa’s long hair to get tousled. She frantically tried to smooth her hair with her hands, not noticing Tan Yixuan’s intense gaze.

Suddenly, Wang Sasa looked up and saw Tan Yixuan staring at her with a dazed expression. She asked, “What’s wrong? Does it hurt again?” Remembering how Tan Yixuan had fallen hard in the ice room earlier, Wang Sasa worried she might have bruised her chest and hurried to lift Tan Yixuan’s collar, saying, “Let me see if it’s bruised…”

Tan Yixuan hadn’t expected Wang Sasa to ‘attack’ her chest and was immediately flustered. She blushed and her heart raced as she grabbed Wang Sasa’s hand and pressed it against her chest, stammering, “I-I’m fine…”. After a moment, she forced herself to calm down, “You don’t need to worry.”

Seeing Tan Yixuan’s embarrassed reaction, Wang Sasa couldn’t help but laugh, “Forget about looking. You’re too easily embarrassed…” She glanced at her own hand, noting that both their hands were slender and fair, complementing each other. She tried to pull her hand away but couldn’t, saying, “Tan Yixuan…”

Tan Yixuan, her face flushed, turned to look at her. They were sitting so close that they could feel each other’s breath. Wang Sasa’s every word seemed to resonate deeply with Tan Yixuan. She murmured, “Sasa…”

Wang Sasa looked puzzled and said, “……Can you let go of my hand first?”
