Chapter 79: It’s Not Bad Having Her Around
Jiang Han glanced at him, his eyebrows raised in a teasing tone, and continued to make sarcastic remarks: “It’s truly a sight to behold. You’re quite the capable one, Jiang Fuchao. You made your father a father at twenty-six. Do your grandparents know they have a great-grandson?”
“I told Grandpa and Grandma about Niu Niu!” Jiang Xiaochao pouted, indicating that he had already informed them.
That’s quite formal.
“Mom, you’re going to be a grandma!” He announced to Hu Yao face-to-face.
Hu Yao: “…”
This was so sudden. She was only twenty and already a grandmother! Her own mother hadn’t even figured it out yet.
Meeting his serious yet accepting expression, Hu Yao couldn’t help but laugh and squat down, taking his small hand.
“Chao-chao, you’re still very young, you won’t have a baby.” She was still amused by his words and explained with a slight smile.
“But Mom has a baby too!” Jiang Xiaochao looked at her belly, puzzled.
“Daddy and Mommy kiss too!”
Many times, Jiang Han had kissed Hu Yao without hiding it from him, and he had seen it.
Hu Yao choked, her face slowly turning red. Seeing her seriousness, Jiang Xiaochao became confused again and asked curiously in a milky voice: “Do you have to take off your clothes and sleep together to have a baby?”
Did they miss a step? They only kissed!
“…” Hu Yao couldn’t answer him, her face reddening even more under his innocent and naive gaze.
“Why are you asking so many questions, kid!” Jiang Han, unlike Hu Yao, whose face turned red with just two sentences, was thick-skinned. He patted the back of his head: “Don’t go around listening to the gossip of the old women in the village with your Niu all day long!”
“Aren’t you going to see your wife and son? Take your egg and go! You can also bring your mom’s daughter-in-law back to drink milk someday.” Jiang Han chased him out.
He was laughing his head off. He was still drinking milk and hadn’t even grown any hair, yet he was talking about being a father!
“She doesn’t have my baby, I’m not going.” Jiang Xiaochao instantly turned into a “heartbreaker,” taking out the egg he had hidden in his pocket and eating it himself.
Jiang Han looked at him with disgust: “Jiang Fuchao, have you learned to be a scumbag from Tang Haofei? You’re so young, and you’re already flirting with girls! You had a little one before, and now you have another!”
“What scumbag? I’m not flirting with Uncle Hao, I’m flirting with Papa.” Jiang Xiaochao mumbled, biting his favorite egg.
“Your father only has your mother! And you’re a jinx!” Jiang Han looked at his dirty face with disgust.
Hu Yao pouted, not happy with his words. She raised her hand and gently wiped Jiang Xiaochao’s face.
New Year’s was just over a month away. Jiang Han was especially busy at the end of the year. He had taken over Xu Guangliang’s business, some of which was shady. It didn’t matter if he had actually been involved before, but now he was clearly “reformed.” He had voluntarily exposed all the dirty deeds to the police.
One day, the police even came to Jiang Han’s house and gave him a banner.
The villagers of Taowan Village all looked at it, their eyes wide.
Jiang Han wasn’t home at the time, and Hu Yao received the banner. She was also surprised for a long time.
Jiang Xiaochao was also confused. He didn’t know when his father had become a good person behind his back.
The police officer smiled and told Hu Yao and the villagers who were watching that Xu Guangliang had been doing those shady things for a long time. Jiang Han seemed to be his accomplice, but in fact, he had been in contact with the police all along and had saved many people.
This was even more shocking. After the police left, everyone murmured and discussed it.
Now, even more people envied Hu Yao for marrying a “good man.”
Jiang Han came back as usual at night, still drunk.
Recently, he had been going out drinking with people, coming back drunk.
In the past, he would come back and fall asleep on the bed, ignoring everything, messy and unkempt. But now, Hu Yao couldn’t stand the smell of alcohol, and when she made a fuss, he was the one who suffered. He came back drunk and subconsciously went to take a shower.
He had changed in this regard, but his habit of throwing his clothes around remained the same. As soon as he entered the room, he started taking off his clothes and throwing them everywhere.
Hu Yao picked them up one by one and found clean clothes for him from the closet.
She didn’t know when she had gotten used to doing these little things.
Soon, he came out, still damp. She handed him his shirt, but he didn’t put it on. He only put on a pair of pants.
Now that he was drunk, he didn’t take Jiang Xiaochao with him to sleep anymore. He only held her tightly.
Before, when he hugged her to sleep, his arm would tightly wrap around her waist. Now that she was pregnant, he didn’t squeeze her anymore, but his big hand would occasionally touch her belly.
It was cold now. In the summer, when he hugged her to sleep, he would always be hot, and she would unconsciously push him away in her sleep.
How could Jiang Han not be hot? If he wasn’t hot, he wouldn’t have slept in just his underwear. It was just that her resistance towards him made him unhappy. Even though he was hot, he still insisted on hugging her.
Now it was different. She didn’t know if she had gotten used to it or if it was just because it was cold, but she nestled in his arms and slept very obediently. Sometimes, she would even hug him back, wrapping her slender arms around his waist.
He had lived for over twenty years, and he had only been this intimate with this woman. They also had Jiang Fuchao as a bond, and now there was another one in her belly.
Feeling her warm, steady breath on his chest, Jiang Han didn’t open his eyes. His big hand gently stroked her soft, smooth black hair over and over again. At that moment, he felt an inexplicable sense of satisfaction.
Although she was a bit troublesome, a bit noisy, and prone to crying, she was also someone he couldn’t hit or scold. But it seemed like it wasn’t bad having her around.
Jiang Han opened his blurry eyes and looked down at her sleeping face.
She was sleeping soundly, her fair face flushed with a healthy glow. Her eyelashes were so long. Jiang Han reached out and brushed them.
Hu Yao felt a tickle and rubbed her eyes. She was very sleepy, even more so after she became pregnant. His little action didn’t wake her up, she just mumbled and groaned.
Her body was soft and fragrant, and it felt great to hold her. But she was pregnant, so he couldn’t knead her lightly like before.
Jiang Han held her soft hand and played with it for a while. Seeing that she was about to wake up from the constant disturbance, he mercifully stopped bothering her and pulled up the slipping blanket to wrap her tightly.
One night without dreams, the next morning, the loud noises of Jiang Xiaochao came again.
Hu Yao had woken up early and was making breakfast in the kitchen. Hearing the noise, she thought something was wrong and hurried to check.
Jiang Xiaochao was chasing a mouse, yelling in a small voice, full of anger.
The mouse had stolen the crispy cakes he had hidden.
He clutched his slippers tightly in his small hand, his hair was messy, and his expression was fierce as he chased the mouse all over the house, from upstairs to downstairs, making a loud bang all the way.
It’s not uncommon to have mice in the countryside, but Hu Yao loved cleanliness and kept her house tidy. She hadn’t seen a mouse in her house for a long time.
