Chapter 85: A Slap and It’s Over
Two boys, about the same age as Jiang Xiaochao, came with them. They looked a little older than Jiang Xiaochao.
As soon as they entered, they ran around, making a lot of noise. When they saw Jiang Xiaochao’s toys and snacks, they immediately reached out to grab them.
Jiang Guihua and the others laughed and verbally stopped them, but didn’t take any action.
“Don’t laugh at me, Ahan’s wife. My two grandsons, they’ve been living a hard life with us, they haven’t seen anything good. If I had known Ahan was living so well, we wouldn’t have had to work so hard.” Jiang Guihua sighed repeatedly. Seeing Jiang’s new house and all the good things in it, she couldn’t hide her joy when she mentioned Jiang Han.
Jiang Guihua married out of town decades ago, and she didn’t marry into a good family. She had a hard life. In recent years, the money Jiang Han sent her every now and then became more and more generous. She inquired and found out that he was living so well now!
Coincidentally, her husband’s hometown had a major flood. After discussing it with her family, she brought her luggage and came back! After all, she is now considered Jiang Han’s only elder. He’s living a good life, how could he not take care of her!
Hu Yao frowned slightly. Seeing that the two children were about to tear apart Jiang Xiaochao’s favorite toy, she stepped forward and took it back. She still had some patience: “You eat the sesame cakes, you can’t play with your brother’s toy.”
If Jiang Xiaochao knew that others had touched his beloved toy, he would be angry.
“Sister-in-law, let the kids play with it for a while. It’s not that easy to break.” The two children’s mother mumbled unhappily. They had just arrived, and Hu Yao was so intolerant. Children playing with things were not generous.
As soon as she finished speaking, the two children started to make a fuss. They wanted Jiang Xiaochao’s toy.
“Xiaohu, Xiaozhuang, be good!” Jiang Guihua spoke to stop them. She still felt sorry for her two grandsons. Her scolding was not harsh. Seeing that Hu Yao was holding onto the toy tightly and wouldn’t let go at all, a hint of dissatisfaction flashed in her cloudy eyes.
Thinking about how they had just arrived, and Hu Yao was the hostess after all, it wouldn’t be good to have a disagreement, so she coaxed her two grandsons to go play in the yard.
Xiaohu and Xiaozhuang glared at Hu Yao, snorted, and ran out to play on the swing in the yard.
Her discomfort grew. Hu Yao thought about the relationship between Jiang Guihua and Jiang Han, pursed her lips, and still maintained a polite smile: “Aunt, Jiang Han told me about your situation. I’ve also cleaned up your old house. If you need money…”
Jiang Han had mentioned to Hu Yao that Jiang Guihua’s husband’s hometown had a flood. It wasn’t strange for their family to come back to Tao Wan village. It was just that they came here with a lot of luggage first, and then said they wanted to stay here.
“That old house is falling apart. Ahan’s wife, from now on, we’ll live with you!” Jiang Guihua interrupted Hu Yao’s words and said directly, without thinking that Hu Yao would refuse.
“Ahan built this new house, it’s so spacious! We can all fit in! It would be so cold and lonely for you two to live in such a spacious house. It’ll be lively with us here!” Jiang Guihua said with a smile, already imagining the good days to come.
“Mom, I want to live in that room!” Jiang Guihua’s daughter, Wang Juan-ping, excitedly started to pick rooms after her mother finished speaking.
If they had known that their family had such a wealthy relative, why would they have lived in that poor life! They should have come here to enjoy themselves earlier!
“Husband, let’s live in the room next to my little sister!” Jiang Guihua’s daughter-in-law also started to pick rooms, looking around everywhere.
Their behavior made Hu Yao’s brow furrow even tighter. If they moved in, life would probably be very uneasy.
“Aunt, if you want to move in, you need to talk to Jiang Han about it.” Hu Yao said softly.
“I forgot to tell Ahan about this when I came!” Jiang Guihua seemed to have just remembered, and she slapped her thigh.
“But we are all such close relatives, why be so polite. Didn’t Ahan go out to make money? We can talk to him about it when he comes back!” Jiang Guihua laughed: “Ahan’s wife, we came all this way, you won’t drive us away, will you?”
Before Hu Yao could answer, Jiang Guihua started talking about Jiang Han’s childhood, and how she helped him after his parents passed away.
“Ahan always remembers my kindness, his aunt. He respects me. He’s a very filial child!”
“Let’s do this, Ahan’s wife. We’ll stay here first. When Ahan comes back, if he says he doesn’t want us to stay, we’ll leave immediately, okay?”
Hu Yao pursed her lips. She had already said this much. Jiang Han had also instructed her before he left. She, a junior, couldn’t drive away her relatives who came to visit. It would be gossiped about.
Jiang Han would be back in half a month. During this time, it shouldn’t be too difficult, right? When he comes back, if he really wants to let his aunt’s family stay at home, she has no reason to object.
Hu Yao nodded gently.
After she nodded, Wang’s family immediately went to put their luggage away. Xiaohu and Xiaozhuang wanted to stay in Jiang Xiaochao’s room, and they rushed in. Hu Yao stopped them and asked them to stay downstairs with their parents.
They glared at Hu Yao again, and were coaxed by Jiang Guihua, reluctantly going downstairs.
Wang’s family had only been here for a short while, and the house was obviously in a mess. The floor that Hu Yao had just mopped was covered in black footprints. The melon seed shells and peanut shells they had cracked were scattered everywhere, and there was spilled water from an overturned cup, mixed with the black footprints.
Jiang Han didn’t do this!
Looking at the mess, Hu Yao felt uncomfortable and wanted to vomit.
“Ahan’s wife, let’s eat. We’ve been rushing all the way here, and we haven’t eaten anything. What do you have to eat at home?”
“Yes, Sister-in-law, I’m so hungry!” Wang Juan-ping echoed.
Hu Yao and Jiang Xiaochao had some leftovers from lunch. Before Hu Yao could take them out, Jiang Guihua’s daughter-in-law found them in the kitchen and unceremoniously brought them out to serve everyone.
The little bit of food left by the mother and son was not enough for their whole family. Jiang Guihua smiled and said a few words to Hu Yao, then took her daughter-in-law to the kitchen to cook. After cooking, she enthusiastically asked Hu Yao to eat together.
Her natural and familiar manner made it seem like Hu Yao was the one who was visiting, and this was their home.
They made a mess, but didn’t show any intention of cleaning up. Hu Yao couldn’t help but frown slightly and clean up.
Jiang Xiaochao was playing with his little cow when he came back–>>
[…], he found that many more people had appeared in his home.
Jiang Guihua seemed to be very fond of Jiang Xiaochao. As soon as he returned, she went up to him, calling him affectionately and lovingly, and even wanted to hug and kiss him.
Jiang Xiaochao instinctively raised his small hand, and before Jiang Guihua could kiss his little face, he slapped her with a “pop.”
He didn’t like being touched by strangers he didn’t know.
“What are you doing!?”
Jiang Guihua’s face froze for a moment, her smile strained slightly: “You’re Xiaochao, right? I’m your grandma!”
Jiang Xiaochao looked around with his head, searching for Hu Yao’s figure. He saw that his home was in disarray, with two annoying people bouncing around on his family’s sofa, even wearing the little hat he had taken off and that Hu Yao had made for him!
He frowned, very unhappy.
He just went to play with the little ox, and when he came back, there were so many annoying people in his house!
