“Sister, wake up!”

Xiao Suo stood by the large kang, calling out loudly to Xia Qingqing.

“What’s wrong, Xiao Suo?”

Xia Qingqing woke up and looked outside at the dimly lit sky.

Xiao Suo anxiously said to her, “Sister, our courtyard is surrounded by other guards!”

“What? Aren’t they supposed to be rescuing the ones bitten by poisonous snakes and insects right now?”

Xia Qingqing was startled and turned over to peek outside the window.

Outside the courtyard, a group of fierce men was gathered, gritting their teeth and rolling up their sleeves.

If these men were there to serve her, Xia Qingqing would have been thrilled, but since they were there to beat her, she could only pray for her life!

“How could this happen? I clearly let them into the house!”

“Sister, there are not just ten guards; there are probably about twenty guards in the Xia residence, which means you only took down those ten last night! Wuwuwu…”

In the middle of the courtyard stood a tall and muscular man with his back to them.

Captain Jia clasped his hands together in greeting.

Xia Qingqing stood there in confusion. This wasn’t right!

Xia Qingqing was playing dumb.

Captain Jia clenched his fists and cracked his neck, the sound echoing in the quiet morning.

Xia Qingqing twitched her lips, thinking that this wouldn’t scare her; she had walked through gunfire before!

“Beat her!”

“It’s her doing!”

“That wicked woman is too vicious!”

The men outside the courtyard were fired up, raising their arms and shouting loudly.

Captain Jia spread his arms and pressed down, “Everyone, quiet down! We are here to seek justice for those ten brothers! If Sixth Miss doesn’t pay up, as the captain, I’ll make her wish she were dead!”

Xia Qingqing gasped, “You’re here to seek justice for those ten brothers? What about me? If I’m injured and bleeding, who will take care of me? Damn it! Today, I can only fight back!”

Xia Qingqing subconsciously reached into her pocket.

She had previously prepared some itching powder; whoever got it sprinkled on them would itch all over, unable to stop scratching until their skin was raw, leaving only bones behind and still itching nonstop!

Xiao Suo warned Xia Qingqing.

Captain Jia laughed loudly,

Before long, Captain Jia and the guards lay in a pool of blood.

Xia Qingqing was splattered all over with blood.

Holding the hatchet, she panted heavily, standing on the grass and looking around.

The sky grew brighter.

Xia Jinxing and Yan Meili also got up to wash and groom themselves.

Once they were ready,

Butler Wang approached the door cautiously to report the situation.

“Master, Madam, Lin’s overseer was beaten by his wife last night and will need to stay in bed for a few days. From now on, she’ll be here to serve you two! Butler Wang smiled, bowed, and hurried to chase after the Master.
