Chapter 156: All Are Troublesome

“I can’t find it, it’s gone!” He pouted, looking very upset.

After being chased out by Jiang Han, he first went to the living room and stole some food. Then, remembering that his little cow had been sick for a few days and hadn’t been eating much grass, he went to the yard to feed it.

But the courtyard gate was wide open, and his little cow was nowhere to be seen.

“The cow is gone, woo woo woo…” He was truly heartbroken, clutching his little hand, his small body trembling.

Hu Yao was stunned, completely unprepared for him to cry so hard over this.

Jiang Han was speechless. This little rascal was crying his eyes out over a cow. Anyone who didn’t know better would think he’d lost his father.

“If it’s gone, it’s gone. Saves me money on rice.” He didn’t care.

“No, no, we have to find the cow!” Jiang Xiaochao sucked back his runny nose, his eyes red, and insisted.

He even blamed Jiang Han.

“It’s all because you didn’t buy a rope for the cow, and you beat it and scolded it, it got angry and ran away!” He pouted.

He had told Jiang Han before that the rope he used to lead the cow was broken and asked him to buy a new one. He still hadn’t bought one, and even said that his little cow was a discerning animal and wouldn’t run away.

Now it was gone!

Jiang Xiaochao was anxious and distressed, his small neck stiff as he glared at Jiang Han.

Jiang Han wanted to hit him again, pointing at his nose and yelling, “I beat you and scold you too, why don’t you just run away? You’re arguing with your father over a cow? I think you weren’t beaten enough!”

“Even if you beat me, I have to find my cow, woo woo woo…” Jiang Xiaochao cried again, his soft voice tinged with sobs.

“Alright, alright, Daddy and Mommy will help Chaochao find the little cow.” Hu Yao couldn’t bear to see him cry so sadly, and quickly comforted him.

Late at night, Jiang Fuchao’s little cow had disappeared from their home, and he was determined to find it.

Jiang Han, with a dark face, told his wife and son to stay home, and went out to find the cow with a flashlight.

“Daddy, don’t you want me to go with you?” Jiang Xiaochao, reassured by Hu Yao and Jiang Han, was comforted and watched Jiang Han leave, softly asking again and again as he leaned against the door.

“Get lost! I don’t want to see you!” Jiang Han didn’t even turn his head, coldly throwing out two sentences.

He was afraid he might lose his temper and do something to both the cow and the boy if he went with him.

He was really fed up. He had already gone out late at night to find his wife and son, and now he had to find a cow!

There was no peace in his life.

Why did he buy a cow for Jiang Fuchao in the first place? He was asking for trouble! During Hu Yao’s illness, he had already been through enough. After Hu Yao recovered, Jiang Fuchao’s cow got sick, and he had to call someone to treat it. Now the cow was gone and he had to find it!

No one in his family could give him a moment’s peace! They were all troublesome, even the two dogs!

“Mommy, why hasn’t Daddy come back yet?”

Jiang Xiaochao sat on the swing in the courtyard with Hu Yao, and he kept running to the door to see if Jiang Han had brought back his little cow.

“He’ll be back soon.” Hu Yao found a handkerchief and wiped the sweat from his face. He had cried so hard that he was sweating profusely.

It was hot in the summer, and his freshly washed clothes were already wet. Hu Yao patiently coaxed him to change clothes.

Jiang Han did indeed find the cow quickly, following its footprints. He looked no different from when he left, and the rope he used to lead the cow was broken. He had kicked the cow all the way back.

The little cow was still chewing on fresh wild grass and mooing all the way.

It had gone to the hillside behind their house to eat grass.

“Jiang Fuchao, don’t let me see you or your cow for the next few days!” Jiang Han was annoyed after finding the cow late at night.

“The cow!”

“The cow~”

Jiang Xiaochao didn’t hear anything he said, and happily rushed to hug his “lost and found” cow, pressing his chubby face against it.

Seeing this, Jiang Han felt even more annoyed and wanted to tie him and the cow together in the cowshed.

“Daddy, you’re so amazing! I couldn’t find the cow!” Jiang Xiaochao, after getting his fill of “affection” with his little cow, remembered Jiang Han and spoke in a childishly admiring tone.

After discovering that the cow was missing, he had actually gone out to look for it, and even went to the place where he usually took the cow to eat grass, but he couldn’t find it, so he cried so hard.

“Daddy, would you like some water?” Now he was acting as if he hadn’t argued with his father at all, and ran around happily.

“Get lost!”

Hu Yao chuckled and took the cup that he had been holding up for so long and handed it to Jiang Han: “Here, drink some water. Chaochao poured it for you when you left, and he was waiting for you to come back with it. He even sat by the door holding it.”

“He was waiting for me? He was waiting for the cow!” Jiang Han was annoyed, but still took the water and drank it.

After all the commotion, it was getting late. They closed the door, Hu Yao tidied the bed, and the family of three went to bed.

Jiang Han was clearly angry, and Jiang Xiaochao decided to try to appease him since he had found his little cow.

He put his little feet on Jiang Han and hugged his hand, speaking in a childish voice: “Daddy, don’t be angry. You already spanked me, and I’ll catch a dragon fruit for you tomorrow!”

“Do you want me to sing a song or tell you a story to sleep?”

Jiang Han tore him off his body: “You’d be better off keeping your mouth shut!”

“…Oh, okay.” Jiang Xiaochao puffed out his cheeks, sighed, and covered his mouth with his shirt.

“Mommy, do you want to hear me tell you a story?” Less than a minute later, he turned his little head and asked Hu Yao in a low voice.

Hu Yao chuckled: “What story do you want to tell Mommy?”

As soon as she started talking, Jiang Xiaochao became excited, immediately releasing his shirt and leaning into Hu Yao’s ear, lowering his voice: “Mommy, let me tell you a secret…”

His voice was telling her a story.

Hu Yao occasionally laughed and responded to him.

The two of them, mother and son, whispered and giggled beside Jiang Han, completely ignoring him.

Jiang Han clicked his tongue: “Are you going to sleep or not? If you’re not sleeping, go outside for a meeting.”

“It’s so hot, I can’t sleep,” Hu Yao said softly.

There was a fan in the room, and Jiang Han had already turned it on, specifically aiming it at the two of them. But it wasn’t just Jiang Xiaochao who said it was hot, Hu Yao was also feeling the heat.

The weather was getting hotter and hotter. She didn’t know if it was because of her pregnancy, but she felt like summers weren’t this hot before.

“You’re hot, and you’re still sticking to Jiang Fuchao?” Jiang Han glanced at her, got out of bed and picked up a palm leaf fan to fan her.

Hu Yao felt that even the air in the room was hot. This year’s summer seemed to be truly scorching.

“Mom, if you take off your clothes to sleep, you won’t be hot anymore! Like me and Dad!” Jiang Xiaochao offered a suggestion, taking off his own little clothes and throwing them aside. He immediately felt much cooler.

He patted his own little tummy, then patted Jiang Han’s hard abs, seriously explaining to Hu Yao.
