Chapter 184: Eye-Catching

She was very similar to Grandma Liu, cheerful and inclusive, radiating warmth everywhere.

Hu Yao looked at her smiling eyes, feeling a warmth in her heart. Seeing her love for Jiang Fuheng so much, she gently placed Jiang Fuheng in her arms.

“Hengheng, let Grandma hold you.” She softly coaxed him.

Jiang Fuheng held his little hand, his rosy little mouth slightly pouting. He quietly looked at Old Madam Xiao, slowly relaxing his furrowed little eyebrows.

Seeing that he didn’t resist, Old Madam Xiao was overjoyed. She hugged his soft little body and laughed even more happily: “Our Heng Heng is so well-behaved!”

She smiled and teased Jiang Fuheng.

Grandma Liu, however, was a little jealous. She smiled and chided Jiang Fuheng, like an old child: “You little rascal, Grandma will only love your brother from now on, you’re so biased!”

Hu Yao laughed.

“Why are you so happy?” Jiang Han’s voice sounded behind her.

When he woke up this morning, she was still sleeping soundly. Last night, she hadn’t gotten enough sleep because she was catching mice for that little rascal Jiang Fuchao. So, he didn’t wake her up.

Even for Jiang Fuheng’s full moon celebration, she didn’t need to do anything. She could sleep as long as she wanted.

But why was she dressed so eye-catching today! It was already autumn, and she had just given birth. She was showing her arms and legs, and that exposed neck, so white. Where did she get this dress that he hadn’t seen before? It outlined her waist and chest, showing it all to others!

He frankly admitted that his possessiveness towards her was getting worse, so bad that he wanted to put her in his pocket and not let anyone see her.

But now he couldn’t openly scold her and tell her not to wear those damn dresses. She would definitely get angry and upset with him!

Thinking of something, Jiang Han’s face changed slightly. He snapped out of his gaze at her alluringly smiling eyes and grabbed her white wrist.

“Look how cold your hands are. Go back and put on more clothes.” He rubbed her hand with his big hand in front of everyone.

Hu Yao didn’t ignore the teasing and curious gazes that came her way. Her face flushed slightly. “I’m not cold.”

Although it was autumn, the weather was still hot. Everyone was wearing short sleeves. How could they be cold?

“You are cold.” Jiang Han didn’t give her a chance to argue. He grabbed her and dragged her away, his attitude inexplicably forceful as always.

Hu Yao furrowed her brows slightly, letting him half-carry, half-drag her away, and she sullenly patted his arm.

He only let go of her when he brought her back to their room, preventing other people from gossiping and teasing.

He was acting weird all of a sudden. It wasn’t that he didn’t want her to wear dresses. After returning to the room, he let go of her and went to the wardrobe to find a different dress for her.

“That was when I was still pregnant with Hengheng!” Hu Yao slapped his hand away. She didn’t have a big belly anymore.

“You look good in anything.” He unbuttoned her chest, casually yet seriously.

Hu Yao looked up at him. He lowered his eyes, focusing on taking off her dress, uncharacteristically serious.

Before, when he unbuttoned her clothes, he was always so ruffianly. This time, it seemed like he really just wanted to change her dress.

“I don’t want to wear that one. I’ll just wear this one. Sister Xiuhua made it for me, I really like it.” Hu Yao grabbed his hand and buttoned the buttons back up.

Jiang Han’s face darkened slightly. It was Hu Xiujie again!

Seeing his displeasure, Hu Yao’s eyelashes fluttered. She looked at him with her clear and beautiful eyes, hugged his arm, and her voice was tinged with a hint of grievance: “Do you think I look bad in this dress?”

“I, I wanted to show you first, but you weren’t here.” Her porcelain-white, lustrous cheeks turned red.

She was still shy and embarrassed to say these things to him.

“It looks good.” Jiang Han lowered his eyes, meeting her shy, watery eyes. His voice was low and dark, unconsciously agreeing with her.

After a moment, he was annoyed again. He took a breath and pulled her face, lowering his head to bite her lips twice, crushing and devouring them, kissing her harder and harder.

Their breaths intertwined for a while before he reluctantly retreated from her sandalwood mouth. His forehead rested against her white forehead, their eyes met.

“You’re getting ambitious. You’re getting better and better at seducing me.” His voice was hoarse and sexy after kissing her, his masculine, strong breath enveloping her.

Hu Yao’s face was even hotter, making her even more embarrassed by his words.

She didn’t look at his deep, dark eyes, her heart beating fast.

“What are you wearing underneath? Let me take a look.” He said in a low voice, not giving her a chance to recover from her embarrassment. The next moment, his ruffianly words fell from above her head again.

“No!” Hu Yao was annoyed, pushing his hand that was reaching into her skirt.

Outside, there were noisy voices, fragmented and chaotic, overlapping each other, laughing and talking about all sorts of things, mostly about Jiang Fuheng’s full moon celebration today.

And the two of them, the hosts, were doing these shameful things in their room.

“Have you seen enough? I haven’t shown you?” Jiang Han now enjoyed seeing her blushing at his teasing.

“It’s daytime.” Hu Yao glared at him.

“Alright, we’ll look at night!” He raised his eyebrows, patted her skirt, as if he had been convinced.

Hu Yao: “…”

After a little commotion, he finally reluctantly let her continue wearing the new dress.

Her face was red, and it took her a while to calm down before leaving the room.

Jiang Fuheng was very well-behaved in Old Madam Xiao’s arms, not crying or making a fuss. He looked calm and composed. Old Madam Xiao was even more fond of him, and she even gave him the old pocket watch she was wearing around her neck.

“Ahan, Hengheng really looks like you and Grandma.” She said to Jiang Han with a smile.

Jiang Han glanced at the tiny Jiang Fuheng and didn’t comment.

Old Madam Xiao was a noble person he had met in his early years, and she had helped him a lot. It was because he happened to save her when she was sick.

If it weren’t for her, he might still be sinking deeper and deeper into darkness, and he wouldn’t have been able to return to the right path.

If it was just because of that life-saving grace that Old Madam Xiao helped him so much, it wouldn’t be necessary for her to care about him so much every time.

Perhaps it was fate, she was actually his grandmother’s own sister.

Years ago, when they were separated, Old Lady Xiao was taken in and raised by the Xiao family. Later, she fell in love with Old Man Xiao and they naturally got married.

Grandma Jiang was a full dozen years older than Old Lady Xiao. In Old Lady Xiao’s childhood memories, she was both a sister and a mother to her.

During all those years they were separated, Old Lady Xiao never stopped searching. When Old Man Xiao retired and they returned from Kyoto, she met Jiang Han by chance, saw the long life lock he redeemed, and it was all destined.

Hu Yao wasn’t very clear about Old Lady Xiao’s relationship with Jiang Han, she had only met Old Lady Xiao once before.

Qiu Yingwen and the others were still washing vegetables in the yard. Tang Haofei also pulled a stool and squeezed into the women’s group, fawning on Qiu Yingwen. He used to say things like how women are this and that, but now he’s working in the women’s group and doesn’t seem out of place anymore.

The other little ones in the yard were running around, saying they were helping, but it wasn’t clear if they were helping or hindering, their little mouths chattering non-stop.

It was more than ten minutes later that Hu Yao belatedly realized why Jiang Han wanted her to change her skirt.

Because Zhong Jinghuai had arrived.
