The Entire Sect is Obsessed with Love, But I’m the Only One Who’s Truly Crazy Chapter 106

Chapter 106

Lin Du lowered her eyes, her pupils darting around, and then she coughed up another mouthful of blood, collapsing into Xia Tianwu’s arms and fainting.  She instinctively tugged at Granny Ma’s sleeve.

When in doubt, play dead.

Granny Ma: …

She resigned herself to following Lin Du’s cue, closing her eyes and making up a story. “Wan Xia, you’re not looking for the Moon God’s incarnation anymore. The Moon God merely used her body. Now she can’t handle the divine power and has fainted.”

Mo Lin wanted to say something but ultimately remained silent.

Wan Xia looked disappointed. “I thought… the Moon God was here to take me.”

Tao Xian couldn’t help but scoff. “Silly girl, if you really got taken by the Moon God, your soul would be gone for good. Don’t think just because someone looks good it’s a good thing! The better-looking people are in this world, the more likely they are to deceive you.”

The girl’s gaze landed on Lin Du’s pale face, still stained with blood. Her skin was so fair that her crimson lips stood out even more. Now, with her eyes closed and her head slumped, her hair scattered in disarray, her eyelashes thick and dark, and a touch of red on her lips, she looked like a glamorous ghost.

Forget the girl, even Tao Xian felt his heart skip a beat – in fear.

Granny Ma was forced to pull out another four-wheeled cart, but this one was much more elaborate than Tao Xian’s, even carved with animal patterns.

Tao Xian looked at the cart gloomily. “Why is hers so fancy?”

Granny Ma glanced back at Tao Xian’s simple wooden cart, still rough around the edges.

“Because she’s young.”

“But I’m practically dead!”

Tao Xian actually threw a tantrum.

Lin Du kept playing dead, and even after they left the village and travelled a distance, she didn’t wake up. Tao Xian panicked.

“Hey, Little Daoist? Are you still pretending? We’ve already gone two miles, they won’t catch up.”

“Lin Xiaodaozhang? Look, I was just complaining, I didn’t actually want your cart.”

Granny Ma, annoyed by his chatter, spoke up. “She’s fine, she’s just asleep.”

Tao Xian: …?

“How can she sleep at her age?”

Xia Tianwu took her pulse. “She’s exhausted. She set up two large formations in one day, her spirit is severely depleted. She’s already done well to last this long.”

The blood she vomited was real. The impact of the spiritual energy on her heart meridian was significant. If not for the constant support of the medicinal power, Little Shi Shu would have suffered a heart meridian rupture and vomited three pints of blood long ago.

The road from Qinglu Village to Phoenix City was barely a road, just a path through grass and trees, incredibly bumpy. Several times, Xia Tianwu wanted to use the flying boat, but seeing that Granny Ma seemed to prefer walking, she refrained.

The bumpy ride made Tao Xian feel like his bones were about to fall apart, but Lin Du didn’t wake up at all.

Mo Lin kept feeling like Little Shi Shu might be dead asleep, checking on her every few steps.

Granny Ma never thought she was strange, but now, as they neared the city, she felt a little embarrassed.

Two four-wheeled carts with two half-dead people, and two righteous disciples flanking them like bodyguards, the combination made her feel like she didn’t want to be part of it.

So Granny Ma entered the city gate ahead of them. The guards wouldn’t dare stop her.

The strange group of four was stopped by the guards, who questioned them about their purpose.

Mo Lin pointed at Granny Ma, his face exceptionally upright, his large eyes filled with righteous confidence. “We’re all with Granny Ma.”

The guard glanced at Granny Ma, who was walking on her own, then at the two half-dead people on the carts. He remembered Granny Ma’s identity and thought it made sense, so he lowered his sword and gestured for them to enter the city.

The group arrived at the courtyard covered in spirit vines. The gate opened, revealing a person sitting calmly inside, with two maids standing beside her, smiling sweetly, sipping tea.

If Granny Ma hadn’t been certain this was her own courtyard, she would have thought she was at the wrong address.

The person took a leisurely sip of tea without looking up. “You’re back?”

Mo Lin and Xia Tianwu bowed. “Greetings, Seventh Shi Shu.”

The woman still wore her hair in a high bun, a blue shirt and a moon-colored skirt, with a heavy token hanging from her waist, undeniably the identity token of the Supreme Sect. Her thin eyelids were sharp yet dignified, her eyes radiating an unhurried sense of authority.

“I received your transmission talisman yesterday, I was having dinner at the time.” Feng Yi put down her teacup and stood up. The exaggerated earrings on her ears remained perfectly still. Then, she bowed respectfully to Granny Ma.

“Feng Yi, the 99th generation disciple of the Supreme Sect, greets Granny Ma. Thank you for your kindness in saving my junior from danger. I have prepared a small token of appreciation, I hope you will accept it.”

She was slender and tall, standing there like a drawn cold sword, her posture and words both respectful, yet no one felt that she was truly being respectful.

Feng Yi exuded an air of looking down on everyone, not like someone coming to beg for help and express gratitude, but more like a noble giving a reward.

Granny Ma suddenly felt a little tired.

Other sects molded their disciples into uniform bamboo forests, though boring, at least they wouldn’t cause unexpected problems. The Supreme Sect was like a nest of wildly blooming flowers, you never knew what strange things they would come up with next.

You could say they were all rare varieties, but they just bloomed in a bizarre way.

Granny Ma was used to it.

“I’ve already received their payment, I won’t accept any more gifts.” Granny Ma said.

Feng Yi produced a box. “Just a small token, nothing special. Granny will know when she sees it.”

Granny Ma didn’t want to accept it at first, but then she saw Feng Yi slowly open the box.

She paused, looked at Feng Yi deeply. “The disciples of the Supreme Sect are truly remarkable.”

The Heavenly God Jade Bead, was indeed an irresistible treasure for a Corpse King.

The jade bead from a god’s corpse might be considered a bit disrespectful to other cultivators, but for the Supreme Sect disciples, it was perfect.

No matter what kind of cultivator entered the ancient god’s tomb, they wouldn’t think of disturbing a corpse.

But the Supreme Sect disciples were notorious for their bandit-like nature, taking a feather from a passing goose, skinning a fleeing beast, their reputation extended even to ancient god’s tombs.

Granny Ma was impressed.

She took the box, tacitly forgiving Feng Yi for squatting in her courtyard and ordering her corpse puppet to make tea for her.

Feng Yi turned towards the cart, her sharp eyes scanning the two people, finally stopping at Lin Du.

“This is the child from our sect who was poisoned, right? Poor thing, how did she get so skinny?”

Mo Lin, standing properly beside her, remained silent for a moment. “Seventh Shi Shu, that’s not…”

Feng Yi instantly retracted her hand, which had been about to touch Lin Du’s face, and looked at Tao Xian with difficulty. “Such a good-looking child, I remember when he entered the sect, he was quite handsome. How did he grow up so ugly?”

Tao Xian: … Please stop.

Mo Lin cleared his throat. “Seventh Shi Shu, I’m here, that’s Tao Xian, the direct disciple of the Feixing Sect .”

Only then did Feng Yi shift her gaze to Mo Lin. “Ah, Mo Lin, you’ve grown so big. When you were brought into the sect by your father, you were so small, I even held you. Do you remember me?”

Of course Mo Lin remembered, but Feng Yi clearly didn’t remember him.

They had obviously met again after they grew up. He vaguely remembered the Sect Master’s instructions before he left, “Your Seventh Shi Shu is a bit unconventional, that’s probably why.”

“Didn’t you get poisoned? What’s the situation with this little thing?”

Feng Yi turned her attention back to Lin Du. “She’s quite pretty, she looks like someone from our Supreme Sect.”

“Last night, we encountered an attack by men in white robes, we asked for Seventh Shi Shu’s help, but she didn’t make it in time, so Little Shi Shu’s spirit is depleted and she’s fallen asleep.” Mo Lin answered honestly.

Feng Yi still had that dignified expression on her face, but her eyes discreetly shifted elsewhere. “When I received the Sect Master’s summons, I thought I was in Yunnan.”

“But actually, I was in Guangdong.”

Mo Lin paused. “So…”

“So I really rushed here all night, but it was hard to ask for directions at night, I took a few wrong turns, and finally found Phoenix City. I received your second transmission in the morning, saying it was Granny Ma’s courtyard in Phoenix City, so I came here first.”

“You’ve travelled a thousand miles at night, you must be exhausted.” Mo Lin bowed silently again.

It was obvious that this Shi Shu was directionally challenged. She received the transmission talisman in the middle of the night and probably took more than a few wrong turns.
