Beast Taming: Starting with Undead, Becoming the Dark-Type King
Beast Taming: Starting with Undead, Becoming the Dark-Type King Chapter 71

Chapter 71

In the late-night cyberpunk city, the sky, which had just cleared after the rain, was once again covered by dark clouds.

A unique cloud floated low over the commercial street, carrying a young human girl dressed in black, along with her pink little jelly-like companion on her shoulder. They were speeding ahead.

Mu Huiyue had enhanced the projection of the Chaos Thundercloud with lightning skills, making it move faster and head straight to the destination along the shortest route.

Not far behind her, the security team from “Dreamscape Biotech” was still hot on their trail.

After the ordinary people failed to catch up with the Chaos Thundercloud, beast tamers began to appear among the pursuers.

Flying over a relatively low rooftop, Mu Huiyue suddenly had a chill in her heart and urgently directed the Chaos Thundercloud to change course.

Taking cover behind the perspective of the tall buildings, a huge leopard covered in metal armor lunged out, its sharp claws reaching for the young girl.

“Chaos Breath!” shouted the security personnel riding on the leopard’s back.

A dark attribute of violent wind surged toward her, but the Chaos Thundercloud narrowly avoided the attack with Mu Huiyue’s quick reflexes.

Her pink jelly companion emitted a soft glow, and the figure of a small cloud dog appeared out of thin air. Stepping with shadowy movements, it leaped forward, and a burst of radiant light from the Moon Explosion engulfed the pursuing attackers that followed.

Another giant leopard, also covered in metal armor, appeared from the other direction. In the shadow cast by the Chaos Thundercloud, the figure of a “Plaque Tooth Soldier” quickly emerged, its bone spurs launching a surprise attack that struck the enemy’s abdomen, hitting a vital spot.

The two summoned beasts immediately transformed into phantoms and disappeared. Mu Huiyue did not look back, urging the Chaos Thundercloud to fly at full speed.

It was unclear whether “Dreamscape Biotech” had already locked onto her position, but the number of pursuers was growing, and they were becoming more and more troublesome.

Most of their summoned beasts had undergone various external enhancements, similar to the mechanical enhancement technology that had recently gained popularity in the Nova region, which significantly boosted the beasts’ abilities.

However, in comparison, the beast tamers’ abilities seemed much weaker.

In reality, security personnel from large corporations like this would typically be senior beast tamers, possessing the combat strength of at least three or more fully matured battle-class creatures.

Yet, these pursuers appeared to have contracted the same mass-produced type of summoned beasts, with no variation in their skills.

Having shaken off another round of pursuers riding giant leopards, Mu Huiyue glanced at the small jelly on her shoulder as she sped ahead.

Despite the continuous high-intensity projections, it seemed unaffected, still keeping its eyes tightly shut, with its four transparent fins clinging firmly to her small figure.

The small jelly might be even more powerful than Mu Huiyue had anticipated. In this dreamlike world, it was her own imagination that limited the full extent of the projection’s power.

Mu Huiyue tried projecting some more powerful summoned beasts but suddenly felt the sky darken significantly. She couldn’t help but look up.

The clouds in the sky were gathering more and more, even blocking the remaining sliver of moonlight.

It wasn’t a naturally formed cloud, but rather a dense, dark energy layer thick enough to be visible to the naked eye.

Within the vast expanse of dark energy, a sudden flash of lightning lit up the surrounding clouds.

After a long delay, the rumble of thunder finally reached her ears, like the sound of heavy machinery crushing the road surface. The entire city seemed to tremble faintly.

Mu Huiyue widened her eyes slightly, unable to believe what she was seeing.

After the thunder, eight massive, elongated shadows fell sequentially from the gathered clouds. Each one was as heavy as a thousand pounds, crashing down into the bustling city with a deafening roar, deeply shaking the earth.

These were eight external limbs made from heavy super-alloy joints, each as thick as several people could hug. No building, no matter how sturdy, could withstand them. Upon impact, everything was pierced through instantly.

The energy layer blocking the moonlight also solidified into a tangible form with the thunder, transforming into a massive disk, suspended high above the city.

With its shadow blocking the sun, and the eight massive limbs, the object looked like an incredibly enormous spider, weaving its web over the entire city.

Mu Huiyue was no stranger to the appearance of this giant, spider-like, extraordinary creature.

It was the Guardian Deity of the Nova region, the Mother God who nurtures all, a mythical species of insect, light, and divine consciousness—Anaroth, in its ultimate form!

However, the real Anaroth had not manifested in centuries, and its appearance was more akin to a pure white octopus spider. There had never been any rumors of its limbs being replaced with super-alloys.

What appeared in this dreamlike world was the mechanical version of Anaroth, built with cyber technology.

Mu Huiyue saw the closest external limb, which had crushed several shops on the commercial street. Passersby fled in panic, staring up at the massive alloy falling from the sky.

A flicker of faint light flashed across the spider leg, and soon a large amount of electricity was absorbed and concentrated, flowing through the limb’s structure toward the body suspended above the city.

The streets near the spider leg darkened, losing their flashy neon lights, now covered by a layer of silent husk.

It wasn’t just this area. In every place where a limb landed, the nearby regions lost power one by one, and the entire city fell into a deep, silent darkness.

Having absorbed the surge of electricity, the mechanical Anaroth let out a sharp, piercing screech, whipping up a hurricane that scattered the dark clouds in the night sky.

Pure white raindrops began to fall.

The closer they got, the larger the raindrops appeared. Upon hitting the ground, each drop was the size of a roulette wheel.

Mu Huiyue almost screamed in horror as the falling objects weren’t raindrops at all, but white mechanical spiders!

Anaroth’s companion creatures, the pure white spiders seen as the earthly embodiments of the Mother God in Nova faith, were now pouring down in vast numbers, as if they cost nothing.

They devoured everything in their path, spitting out flexible, thin steel cables, and destroying everything in their wake like a violent storm.

Mu Huiyue urged the Chaos Thundercloud, desperately flying toward her destination.

But the endless spider rain was unavoidable. The white spiders that landed nearby spat silk, which stuck to the bottom of the dark clouds.

Forced to abandon her mount, Mu Huiyue jumped off the rooftop with the small jelly. The small cloud dog and the Plaque Tooth Soldier’s illusions cut through the white spiders on both sides.

She conjured a grappling hook in her hand, jumping over several obstacles before reaching the rooftop of another building.

It wasn’t just the summoned beasts. As long as something could be vividly imagined in her mind, the small jelly could project it in this dreamlike world.

Ahead, they were once again surrounded by white spiders. The small jelly emitted a soft glow, and the image of a praying mantis appeared out of thin air. With a single slash, it cleaved through all the surrounding white spiders, clearing a path.

Mu Huiyue tried to conjure the Chaos Thundercloud once more, but in that moment, her entire body froze, stopping in place.

Her brain’s danger alarm was set to the maximum. Adrenaline flooded her system, yet her body seemed unresponsive, with only her heart pounding violently, as if it might leap out of her chest.

She looked up at the night sky, now obscured by the massive disk.

The disk slowly moved through the clouds and mist, and one by one, countless crimson eyes opened, densely packed beneath the disk, easily numbering over a thousand.

At the moment Mu Huiyue looked up, over a thousand crimson compound eyes of Anaroth also descended, their gaze focused on this blurred human figure.

It saw me.

A ringing noise filled Mu Huiyue’s mind, and the looming threat of death and fear engulfed her.

In that instant, she almost forgot she was still in a dream.

“Mm-mm…!”

A cold blob of jelly splattered onto her face, and Mu Huiyue jolted, the feeling of being watched by a thousand pairs of eyes shattering in that moment.

She quickly grabbed the small jelly and continued moving toward her destination.

The white spiders that appeared along the way were cleared by the summoned beasts she conjured. Mu Huiyue could feel the gaze from above following her movements, Anaroth still watching her.

As long as she could get the small jelly there, it would be a victory… For that, she needed a powerful beast that could temporarily hold off Anaroth.

What kind of beast could fight against the mechanical Mother God?

Mu Huiyue quickly ran through one option after another in her mind.

Setting aside the powerful extraordinary creatures she hadn’t seen or didn’t fully understand, what else could she choose…?

The Solar Flame Wolf?

The Vermilion Flame Bird?

No, even the fully evolved high-ranking imperial species wouldn’t be enough to resist this mechanical Anaroth.

The image in her mind finally settled on the moment when the Angry Rock Xuanwu was pierced, and while running, Mu Huiyue pulled out the white tiger amulet from her pocket.

“I don’t know if this will work, but let’s give it a try.”

She placed the white tiger amulet inside the pink jelly.

“Dream-mu!”

The small jelly took a deep breath, expanding its water-like, elastic body to twice its size. Inside, a dreamy, soft glow bloomed once again.

Anaroth above seemed to lose its patience, its crimson compound eyes locking onto Mu Huiyue’s position. It let out a sharp, screeching cry, and countless white spiders surged toward her like a tidal wave.

The earth trembled faintly as Anaroth raised one of its massive alloy limbs, aiming it squarely at the locked target before bringing it down heavily.

In the nick of time, a clear tiger’s roar echoed through the heavens and earth, and a black-and-white shadow leaped out, swiftly pushing aside Anaroth’s spider leg. Its tail swept through the incoming white spiders, obliterating countless of them.

The phantom beast, the White Tiger, walked through the clouds, spiraling upward into the sky until it reached an altitude of ten thousand meters.

Its form continuously shifted as it ascended, from a giant tiger with black-and-white stripes to the shape it took after merging with its beastmaster.

A beast-eared girl, holding a long tiger-tooth blade, hovered above the clouds. The long sword blazed with fiery light, aimed at the mechanical Anaroth’s body.

Energy capable of shaking the very fabric of space rapidly gathered, and invisible forces churned through the clouds, forming a massive vortex in the night sky.

Anaroth finally noticed this seemingly insignificant threat. Its crimson compound eyes flickered, and suddenly, dozens of gun-like dark holes opened on the disk, all targeting the airborne entity.

After the White Tiger swept aside the spider leg, Mu Huiyue took the opportunity to escape Anaroth’s gaze, continuing to run with the small jelly in tow.

The night sky lit up repeatedly with flashes of energy collisions, mixed with the sounds of high-tech weapon fire and the sharp ripping noise of high-speed friction.

She ignored everything around her, noticing that the white spiders’ encirclement had lessened slightly due to Anaroth’s distraction. Mu Huiyue once again directed the small jelly to project the Chaos Thundercloud, using lightning skills to maximize speed.

After the projection of the White Tiger, the jelly’s semi-transparent body became even more faint, its form significantly smaller. It was so weak that it barely clung to Mu Huiyue’s shoulder, being blown by the wind and almost falling off.

Mu Huiyue cupped it in her hands, urging the Chaos Thundercloud to move forward at full speed.

She wasn’t sure how long the White Tiger projection would last, but as long as she could get the small jelly there before then…

A brilliant light suddenly erupted in the night sky, blindingly bright as if it were daytime. Mu Huiyue heard an explosion even more powerful than thunder. A meteor, burning with blazing white flames, fell rapidly from the sky, accelerating three times along the way. The overwhelming energy unleashed winds strong enough to nearly overturn the city.

S-Class Attack Skill: Star Fragmentation!

Boom—!

The blazing white flame struck Anaroth’s body, directly piercing through the massive disc and sending the mechanical goddess crashing to the ground.

Even with eight mechanical limbs supporting it, the disc’s body still couldn’t withstand the full force of the Beast Spirit White Tiger after merging with its beast master.

Countless white spiders let out wails of agony, and Mu Huiyue, with a surge of energy, used all her strength to charge towards her destination.

As long as she could reach there…

No need for the small jelly to explain anything further; as soon as Mu Huiyue saw the place, she understood its intention.

A funnel-shaped void had appeared out of nowhere, its edge connected to the dream world, its depths extending to an unknown place.

The closer she got to the dream world’s boundary, the more evident the structure of the void became, revealing an unusually rough surface.

The lower part of the funnel looked like unfinished modeling, with only the framework in place, lacking the final simulation layer.

If the dream world was an imprecise game model, then this void was the log-out interface.

Mu Huiyue released her grip, and the small jelly floated dizzily into the air.

It looked at the human girl who had brought it here, then glanced at the nearby void.

“You’re leaving, aren’t you?”

Mu Huiyue removed her tactical gloves and gently stroked the small jelly’s cool, yet resilient body.

“Mmm…” The small jelly nuzzled her fingers, its watery eyes blinking for a moment.

“Dream Mum!” Its tone suddenly grew more intense, as if trying to convey something to Mu Huiyue.

“Dream Mum, Dream Mum!”

“Hmm?” Mu Huiyue tilted her head, confused.

“Dream Mum, Dream, Dream…!” The small jelly waved its short transparent fins desperately.

It uttered a rare syllable, and suddenly, Mu Huiyue had an epiphany.

“You… your name is… Xiaomeng?”

“Dream Mum!” The small jelly nodded its rounded body vigorously, offering a smile to Mu Huiyue.

It looked back one last time at the human girl, reluctantly drifting into the void.

Then, a dazzling light consumed the entire world.
