Chapter 75: Ever Kissed?
He Tingzhou waited for her outside the Shen family residence.
The night wind had turned warm. He was dressed in black, standing out against the sparse streetlights. His handsome features were illuminated in the darkness.
They were too close to the Shen family, only a hundred meters away. Anyone coming out would see them.
As Shuangxu stepped out of the villa, she looked left and right, front and back, her stealthy movements betraying her nervousness.
Once she was sure no one was watching, she hurried to He Tingzhou: “What are you doing here?”
The silk of his shirt shimmered like water in the darkness. He had a piece of candy in his mouth, his words slow and deliberate: “Stealing a kiss.”
…What?
“Can you please not use such strange words?”
“What’s strange about it?” He said, “Isn’t that what you’re doing, sneaking around like you’re stealing someone?”
“I’m just being cautious.”
Shen Changyuan had returned safely today, a huge weight lifted from Shuangxu’s heart. She felt much lighter and sincerely said: “Brother Tingzhou, thank you so much for this.”
He Tingzhou asked: “How do you want to thank me?”
Shuangxu naturally thought of what they had been doing before.
“Not today,” she said. She had been staying at home lately, and returning late would be noticed. “My adoptive mother is waiting for me at home.”
He Tingzhou’s eyebrows rose slowly, as if he didn’t understand. He asked: “What’s not possible today?”
Shuangxu felt he was pretending: “Don’t act like you don’t know.”
He chuckled and asked: “Then when is it possible?”
“I’m going back to my place on Songming Road tomorrow,” she said, then realized it sounded like she was implying it was possible tomorrow. She quickly added, “Any time after that.”
But He Tingzhou had caught the keyword.
“Tomorrow, huh?” he repeated slowly, his dark eyes fixed on her, his teeth gently grinding the candy.
The night was quiet, the wind rustling clearly. Shuangxu’s face flushed slightly.
Just as she was about to change the subject, He Tingzhou suddenly asked:
“Ever kissed someone?”
Shuangxu paused: “Why are you asking that?”
He Tingzhou crushed the candy in his mouth, chewing nonchalantly. He said, “Why, can’t I ask?”
It wasn’t that she couldn’t be asked.
Shuangxu inexplicably felt a little embarrassed saying she hadn’t, wanting to maintain the persona she had established as a player. She said calmly, “Of course I have.”
“How many times?”
Who asks that?
“Who counts that?” she said.
“So many you can’t even count, it seems you’re very experienced.” He was good at twisting her words. “A kissing master, you wouldn’t mind me learning from you, would you?”
What the heck?
Before she could react, his face was suddenly close, just a breath away from hers.
Shuangxu’s nerves tightened instantly. She stared at his lips, so close she could smell the faint sweetness of the candy he had just eaten.
He stopped there, looking down at her for a moment, tilting his head slightly to avoid their noses touching. His lips brushed against hers.
The soft, gentle touch on her lips, so light, like a feather brushing past.
Her breath involuntarily became lighter, she stood there, not daring to move.
His kiss was shallow, light, completely different from what she had imagined, a mere touch.
He pulled away after a few seconds.
Was he really that innocent when it came to kissing?
Just as Shuangxu was feeling surprised, He Tingzhou pushed her against the car door, his hands on the roof, trapping her between his tall, strong body.
He lowered his head again, his lips capturing hers.
From a simple touch, it escalated to a deep kiss.
Their lips began to grind together, with his signature dominance and the sweet scent of lychee. Shuangxu’s lips were forced open, his tongue gently brushed against hers, briefly meeting.
Shuangxu instinctively clenched her fingers, her heart racing out of control.
As the kiss deepened, the lychee flavor gradually filled her mouth, she started to feel breathless, the oxygen she inhaled couldn’t keep up with the consumption.
He Tingzhou held her chin with one hand, preventing her from backing away, his rough fingertips brushed against her jaw, stroking gently.
He kissed her, sometimes hard, sometimes soft, with a rhythm that was effortless. Shuangxu felt like prey, completely under his control.
She had no power to resist, nor any reason to resist. The blood heated under her skin, seeping out through her pores, enveloping her in a warmth.
After the kiss, her whole body temperature had risen a degree.
He Tingzhou released her. She hadn’t caught her breath yet, she opened her eyes, her blurry vision focused on the space between his handsome brow bones, those dark eyes were deep like whirlpools, capable of swallowing those who stumbled into them.
He Tingzhou’s voice was low, with a hint of laziness: “Kissing master, your kissing skills are terrible.”
“…”
Shuangxu’s face burned, she didn’t know whether it was from shame or embarrassment. She pursed her lips and insisted: “That’s how Americans kiss.”
“All of them? It seems you’ve kissed a lot of Americans.”
“…Not that many.” She didn’t want to damage the reputation of Americans.
“How many?” He raised an eyebrow and pressed her.
“Six, seven, eight, nine, ten or so.” Shuangxu started to ramble.
“So many and they haven’t taught you how to kiss, you should kick them all out.” He Tingzhou straightened up from leaning against the car, creating distance between them.
Only then did Shuangxu feel her breath come back. When she calmed down, she looked at He Tingzhou, who was leaning against the car with his hands in his pockets.
His long legs were bent slightly, his posture relaxed.
“I’m going back now,” she said.
“Let’s go back,” He Tingzhou said.
As Shuangxu turned around, she subconsciously glanced back at the villa.
This glance almost made her soul leave her body.
He Tingzhou parked his car at the bend of the road, but it wasn’t hidden well. From the second floor of the Shen family villa, you could still see a bit of the car’s rear end.
That angle was right in front of Shen Yu’s room. The room was lit, and she didn’t know if Shen Yu was inside.
All her composure vanished, and her heart was filled with unease.
She entered the house, and seeing that Shen Yu and his parents were no longer in the living room, her heart sank.
“Where’s my brother?” she asked Mrs. Wang.
“He went back to his room,” Mrs. Wang said.
The remaining bit of hope in her heart also vanished. It truly seemed as if he had gone out to have an affair and returned. Shuangxu’s steps were shaky as she went upstairs.
As she reached the bedroom door, the door to the next room opened, and Shen Yu walked out.
“Back so soon?” Shen Yu asked.
The time she spent outside with He Tingzhou wasn’t long, but it wasn’t short either. It wasn’t enough time to go to the company and come back. Thinking quickly, she said, “I remembered I had a backup on my computer, so I came back.”
A smile appeared on Shen Yu’s lips. “You’re such a klutz.”
Seeing that he didn’t seem suspicious, the heart that had been bouncing in Shuangxu’s throat finally settled down.
“Go to bed early,” Shen Yu patted her head. “Good night.”
“Good night, brother.” Shuangxu went into her room, closed the door, and finally breathed a sigh of relief.
