Chapter 80: The Capitalist Who Doesn’t Lose a Dime
The dinner party ended, and as He Tingzhou walked out, a security guard was already waiting.
He stood in the inconspicuous shadows, bowed respectfully, and said in a low voice: “The Chief just landed tonight, please go home now.”
“Anything can wait until tomorrow.” He Tingzhou unlocked his car with the key, his tone casual, “I’m not free tonight.”
“The Chief will be returning to the military district early tomorrow morning. He hasn’t seen you for a while, and he’s very worried about you.”
“Worried about what?” He Tingzhou was very filial, “With such a tight schedule, don’t run back and forth. Everyone is busy, we can live without seeing each other for a while.”
“…” This security guard had been by Commander He’s side for many years, and he knew this young master’s temperament very well. There was no one else in the entire world who dared to not give face to tCommander He, except for him.
The security guard patiently persuaded: “The Chief came back this time to talk to you about the Shen family’s matter a while ago. You used his name to get people out of the Disciplinary Committee, and you didn’t say anything beforehand. At least you should explain it to him afterwards.”
He Tingzhou clicked his tongue.
That was true. He had borrowed the old man’s face to do things, so he had to give him some face today.
The He family still lived in the military compound, with armed police guarding the entrance, and entry required layers of checks.
Everyone who lived in this compound was a big shot, and the He family owned a private residence in the most prestigious area. Commander He wasn’t home often, usually just him and his dog, but there were twelve servants in the house.
Taking care of flowers and plants, watering the lawn, sweeping, wiping tables, trimming the branches of the cypress trees at the entrance… Even the Doberman’s food was taken care of by two dedicated people, it was truly extravagant.
This was because this young master didn’t like being too quiet.
For this reason, Commander He had been criticized and accused of improper conduct for many years. Being in his position, the last thing he should do was give people something to talk about.
But everyone knew that he owed this only son, so he spoiled him, and as long as he didn’t break the law, he could do whatever he wanted.
He Tingzhou drove into the courtyard, and Commander He was sitting in the living room listening to someone report on his recent daily life.
Everything was detailed, even the number of times he stayed out late each month was clearly recorded.
He Tingzhou walked in with a lazy stride, went to the maid, and reached out to tap her record book: “Sister Zhao, you’ve learned to slack off, why didn’t you record yesterday?”
Sister Zhao stammered and quickly put a checkmark on yesterday’s date, then said to Commander He: “He didn’t come back last night.”
Commander He gave her a faint glance, and she hurriedly took her book and left.
He Tingzhou sat down opposite him, crossed his long legs, and sneered: “What era is this? I still have a personal attendant. Why don’t you just conquer the world and make me an emperor?”
The security guard quickly cleared his throat and reminded: “Be careful with your words. Be careful with your words.”
He Kaifei was still wearing his military uniform, the deep blue was solemn and majestic, and the gold pine branches and three five-pointed stars on his shoulder straps made him exude an aura that made people tremble.
He Tingzhou’s aura was both righteous and evil, and he was the complete opposite of his father.
He Kaifei said: “I heard about Shen Changyuan’s bribery case. It’s very deep, and no one else dares to touch it. You have the guts to act under my name. How come I don’t know when I became a “guarantor” for Shen Changyuan?”
As soon as he came out, the Zheng family would have to think twice before trying to pin the blame on Shen Changyuan.
While he was speaking, He Tingzhou was typing on his phone, sending a message, but there was no reply. He flipped his phone, and said nonchalantly: “You came all the way here to settle accounts with me?”
He Kaifei remained silent for a moment, but he finally let it go: “It’s rare for you to help others. It seems that you’ve become very close friends with Shen Yu.”
He Tingzhou curled his lips ambiguously and leaned back in his chair.
“If you say so.”
Neither father nor son was a talkative person, and a major event that had shaken Yan City was discussed in just a few words, and there was nothing else to talk about.
After sitting in silence for a while, seeing him look at his phone again, He Kaifei asked: “You’ve been living outside often recently?”
He Tingzhou said: “At my age, if I don’t live outside, you should be worried.”
“…”
He Kaifei: “I’m worried that you’re not sleeping well.”
“Don’t worry about my bed.” He Tingzhou said lazily and nonchalantly, “Have some boundaries.”
“…”
He was so unserious day after day, Commander He sighed in exasperation and waved his hand: “Alright, go wherever you want.”
“If you want to see me next time, make an appointment in advance. I’m quite busy these days.” He Tingzhou hooked his coat with his index finger and draped it over his shoulder, then left.
The security guard was standing guard outside, seeing that he was going out so late, he said: “The Chief is only staying home for one night, aren’t you going to keep him company?”
“He’s an old man, does he still need someone to coax him to sleep?” He Tingzhou opened the car door, his voice was diluted by the night, and he left a sentence, “Just overcome it yourself, he didn’t coax me when I was a child.”
Back and forth, almost two hours passed.
He Tingzhou returned to Taihe Courtyard, this villa, which occupied 1,600 square meters, seemed even more desolate at night than during the day.
He didn’t like this kind of quiet silence, and the dog heard the sound of the car and ran to the door to greet him.
“Where is she?”
The dog wagged its tail and led him inside, up to the second floor, and all the way to the bedroom.
There was a slender figure lying on the bed, her black hair scattered on the white sheets, like flowing ink.
She was asleep.
Shuang Xu originally thought that He Tingzhou would be back soon, but she didn’t expect to wait for two hours.
She was getting sleepy, and she wanted to go home, but she received a message from He Tingzhou, just two words:
[Don’t run]
So she had to stay awake and continue waiting, and she didn’t know when she fell asleep.
Shuang Xu was woken up by suffocation, she couldn’t breathe through her nose, and she instinctively opened her mouth, –>>
She slowly struggled to wake up.
Her whole body was dazed, she hadn’t yet realized where she was. He Tingzhou released his hand from pinching her nose: “Come to my place to sleep?”
She gasped, dazed for a few seconds, the sleepiness in her eyes gradually fading. Her voice was thick with sleepiness as she spoke: “…What time is it?”
“Three-oh-one.”
He Tingzhou lay beside her, propping his head with one hand, his indifferent black eyes staring at her: “It took a minute of pinching your nose to wake you up, you can hold your breath for quite a while.”
“I practiced when I was learning to swim.”
He’s really ruthless, waking her up at three in the morning by pinching her nose. A capitalist who doesn’t take a single loss.
Shuangxu rubbed her eyes and asked him: “Do you want to do it now?”
